The Kingdom of Lanancrus has always excelled in naval warfare. If Floria’s country, strong in land battles, and the Kingdom of Lanancrus can form a strong bond through marriage, there will be no one stupid enough to make an enemy of them.

They are even able to command the wild-tempered sea barbarians and achieve overwhelming victory in battle. As the Prince of the Sea, Franz is highly respected, and if he was saying this, then there shouldn’t be any danger.

With her lingering anxieties dispelled, Floria relaxed and smiled at Franz, feeling relieved.

What a wonderful man she was having as her husband. She couldn’t help but gaze at him dreamily. However, she couldn’t help but to think that they are not yet a true married couple.

Nevertheless, She has been informed in detail about the duties of a wife at night by her married sister and Lady in waiting, Aura.

‘Ah, I want to go to the southern island quickly and become a true couple with Franz. He will surely be gentle with me.’

Without needing to be told by Aura, she want to dedicate herself, her body and soul, and become a devoted wife—sincerely thinking so, Floria tightly squeezed Franz’s hand in response.

Crash! Rustling noises filled the air.

Just then, a dark shadow skimmed over the heads of the two and landed on the front of the ship, it was a large bird with a blue wing.

Floria’s eyes widened involuntarily. The bird was slender and tall, with beautiful feathers that shimmered with a grayish-blue hue. It quietly gazed at the direction the ship was heading, bending one of its long, slender legs into a hook shape. It seemed like it was foreseeing the future that awaited ahead.

“Damn it, a blue heron,” Prince Franz clicked his tongue and spat out the words. Floria was surprised by his resentful tone, which was different from his gentle demeanor just moments ago. It sounded as if the voice came from the depths of an abyss.

“A blue heron?” Floria asked.

“Yeah, herons are considered ominous birds in our navy. There’s a legend that they guide souls to the underworld.”

“I see…”

Floria silently stood at the front of the ship, observing the heron as it basked in the sea breeze. It exuded an air of nobility and aloofness. It seemed a bit pitiful to label such a majestic bird as ominous. Perhaps it was merely resting its wings on its journey from one island to another.

Seeing Floria become quiet, Franz once again put on a smile.

“Ah, I scared you, didn’t I? It’s just a legend, so there’s no need to worry. Besides, I’ll get rid of it now.”

Releasing Floria’s hand, Franz drew the sword hanging from his waist and swiftly approached the bow of the ship.

“Wait, Franz-sama!”

‘he wouldn’t hurt it, right?’

I’m not afraid, so it can stay as it is… Floria was about to say that, but the heron seemed to sense something unusual. With a flutter of its wings, it gracefully flew before Franz could shoo it away.

The heron circled leisurely above Floria, as if trying to convey something.

“Damn it, disappear already!” Franz shouted

Then, with a swift motion, it soared higher in response to Franz’s outburst and disappeared into the distant sea.

It’s a bit heavy to kill a bird in front of your “delicate beloved”, as opposed to shooing it away.
