Save Me

I Have To Go Back Home

40. I Have To Go Back Home.

“I guess the reason they can’t understand what’s going on and are so stupid is because they take after their master.”

Jillian, who had cleanly cut down the monsters charging towards him, shook the blood off his sword and muttered.

The wave was like a sandstorm.

It was pitch black everywhere, and no matter how hard he tried, he could barely see the end.

Those guys with horribly developed instincts probably knew that they were no match for him.

Even though he showed off his strength, telling them to not to come and go back to their territory, the moment the monsters crossed the ice wall, they headed towards Baloch as if they were drawn by a magnet.

They’re like idiots.

Who told them to come here?

An arrow flew in front of Jillian, who was clicking his tongue, and hit its target with a thud.

“I told you to take a cover, so watch out for the arrows.”

Elizabeth’s stubbornness was unusual.

Even Blatt couldn’t break her stubbornness.

After the destruction of the 7th castle, Blatt was noticeably depressed. Even though the problems with the wall were not his responsibility.

Elizabeth of Castle 6 was quite strict even before the incident, but after it, she tried to protect him like a child left by the water.

“That’s annoying.”

Jillian shook his head.

No matter how much he said to her, she wouldn’t listen.

It was not hard to understand her reasons though. if he was gone, the Baloch territory, and by extension this empire, would be finished, but it’s still annoying.

Jillian roughly shook off the hilt of the sword that was sticking to his hand and rolled it back up.

Although their number was reduced by cutting down a lot, there were still too many monsters to ask for ‘clean up after me’ and get rid of them.

It looked like he would have to work hard today.

But….

‘I’ll give you the answer you want when you get back.’

Is it because of the pretty voice that lingers in his ears?

There was no one urging him, but he felt hurried for no reason.

Jillian adjusted his sword and immediately injected it with aura.

The thin silver sword body vibrated slightly and was immediately covered in translucent light.

Now everything that his sword touched returned to nothingness.

Using up one’s aura like this for long was not easy, even for Jillian.

However, Jillian increased the injection of his aura and this time even stretched the aura from the tip of the sword.

‘I’ll give you the answer you want when you come back.’

The last voice he heard was so teary that he couldn’t stand it.

Maybe it’s because he thought the end was in sight, but unlike before, he was getting more and more impatient.

Jillian lightly shook the long aura.

Crash!

A faint ray of light from the tip of the sword lightly struck the ground, and immediately a long crack was created.

It was a technique of swinging the Aura like a whip, which had shocked the knights on the first day.

It would take a bit of stamina, but if he did this, he would be able to get it all sorted out and leave within today.

Crash!

Jillian, who lightly shook his pommel out of habit, immediately swung his sword fiercely at a group of monsters approaching him.

Then, along with the sound of something exploding, his vision became blurry.

A blue mist erupted from the monsters that were slowly narrowing the distance suddenly shot towards Jillian as if it was a signal.

It was the moment he had been waiting for.

“Wow… it’s a sight to behold.”

Blatt couldn’t help but be amazed when he saw the blue mist that Jillian had created.

It was difficult to even manifest an aura, but he could swing his aura like a whip.

The blue fog that Jillian had created was a phenomenon that made the remains of a monster, that had not yet disappeared, spread out finely.

He knew he was at a level that surpassed human common sense, but he was amazed every time he saw it.

“Stop talking idly, if you have time, cut down at least one more monster!”

His pause only lasted a moment, but Elizabeth, standing next to him, couldn’t bear it and scolded him right away.

Blatt grunted and held his sword.

Although Jillian was amazing, he couldn’t stop all monsters.

It was literally a wave.

Countless monsters rushed in, so much so that it looked like a huge wave.

Although they faced a large number, most of them were taken down by Jillian, some passed by Jillian and approached the fortress.

Thet would try climbing up the castle or breaking down the door to gain entry.

In any case, the number of such guys was quite large, which meant that this side was also busy.

“Ouch!”

Blatt rolled away from the monster swinging its claws at him.

“Are you dead yet?”

He thought he got rid of it a little while ago, but it wasn’t the case.

This was precisely what made monsters so annoying.

Because of their incredible regenerative powers, even if fatally injured, they could come back to life in the blink of an eye.

There wasn’t even a moment’s hesitation in their actions, as if it didn’t even take a toll on their physical strength to do that.

So usually one person attacks, and the other person hits the same spot again, cutting it out without giving it time to regenerate.

The reason why multiple knights had to be attached to one monster was not only because of the monster overwhelming power, but also because of that.

Ki-eeek!

Blatt quickly hit the neck of the guy who chased after him with his mouth open.

Then, he raised the falling sword upward again and struck the neck of the monster that was starting to regenerate once more.

It was very difficult to change the sword’s trajectory, but a group of monsters had climbed the castle wall a little while ago and there was close combat on all sides.

It meant that there was no knight to come to his aid.

Elizabeth, who was swinging her sword right next to him, also had the same luck.

“Aaaah!”

It was only after hitting its trembling neck a third time that he finally managed to kill one of them.

Thanks to this, a lot of bodily fluids came out and he became so sick and sour that he felt nauseous.

However, Blatt, who cleared his mind with a flick of his head, went straight for Elizabeth and put his hands on her shoulders.

“I can’t do it alone; it’s so hard!”

“Don’t joke around, go..!”

Elizabeth’s words was interrupted in the middle as she was swinging her sword.

Blatt swung his sword too, as if following the trajectory of Elizabeth’s sword swing, and finished off the monster.

“It’s not a joke, I don’t know how long it took me to deal with that guy I just killed. I guess it’s because I’m alone that it takes so much time. So let’s do this together.”

That was correct.

However, Elizabeth did not agree right away.

There was something in the way she was looking at him, but Blatt pretended not to notice and just looked at her and smiled.

“If you’re asking for a favor, you’d better not laugh. It’s unlikable.”

“What?”

“As you know, I tend to have high standards.”

“Hey, Captain Elizabeth! At this rate, I’m pretty decent, wow! I am not!”

“Don’t force it.”

Elizabeth responded coldly as she struck down the spot where Blatt had struck with her sword repeatedly.

How long had it been like that?

Most of the things that had crept into the castle were cleared away, and the breached gates were replaced with previously prepared ones.

The work on the fortress side had been completed.

As soon as the critical moment passed, Elizabeth took out her telescope and looked outside the castle.

The whole place was covered with blue fog, so Jillian could not be seen.

“Wow, our Duke is so cool. Even Duke Silas wasn’t like this. Are they becoming more and more like monsters? Or is he the one particularly monstrous?”

Blatt started whistling and poked her as if he saw what she was looking at.

“You call your master a monster. If you are an honorable knight, you should refrain from making such remarks.”

“But really! You know it’s a compliment.”

It seemed like another meaningless fight was about to ensue, but Blatt, whose complexion suddenly hardened, stretched out his hand high into the air.

Almost at the same time, a bird landed on his arm.

“Ugh!”

A hook-like claw as long as an adult’s hand dug into Blatt’s forearm without mercy.

“You bastard! You can sit down gently.”

This time, Elizabeth didn’t argue with him.

Not only was she so preoccupied that she didn’t even hear the flying bird, but the blood flowing down Blatt’s forearm looked quite serious.

“Unpack the letter.”

Blatt threw the letter he had retrieved from the bird to Elizabeth.

A pure white messenger bird.

There were more than one type of messenger birds used in Baloch, and although he did not know what species it was, Blatt was familiar with this bird with a black spot on the top of its head.

A Peacock bird.

Although it was not the largest type, it was the fiercest and strongest.

“What happened?”

During the wave, a peacock bird flew from the castle.

No matter what he imagined, nothing good came to mind.

Elizabeth seemed to think so too, as her fingertips trembled slightly as she unwrapped the letter.

Rustle.

Elizabeth’s face became scary as she opened the letter with the sound of paper rubbing against her fingertips.

“Why, what’s going on?”

Instead of answering Blatt’s question, Elizabeth immediately took out the flute around her neck and blew it hard.

The ivory flute made no sound even when Elizabeth blew it as hard as she could.

It was made to be like this.

“Why, what is it? Why are you calling the duke?”

It was carved out of ivory by the duke and was given only to the captains of the fortress as their means of emergency communication.

It was natural for Blatt to be surprised, but Elizabeth never showed him the letter.

“What!”

“It’s someone else’s letter.”

“Are they under attack now?”

Blatt was worried, but Elizabeth didn’t even answer.

In the end, she handed the letter she was holding to Jillian, who came home after hearing the noise.

Jillian, who was handed the letter, made an indescribably strange expression.

“You received this?”

Elizabeth received it, but did not open her mouth, so the answer was left to Blatt, who knew nothing.

“Yes. Probably.”

“Oh my.”

But wasn’t it a serious matter?

Even before Blatt finished answering, Jillian smiled so sweetly that it seemed as if he would melt.

His smile was so pretty and sweet that he even forgot that this was a battlefield.

Blatt felt like he was losing his mind for a moment.

He knew very well that the Duke was beautiful.

He thought he had seen enough to feel calm about it, and now he wasn’t very impressed when he saw him anymore.

But that was Blatt’s mistake.

He was mistaken in thinking he knew his face well.

It was the first time he had seen Jillian look like this.

The young Duke of Baloch, full of vivid emotions.

If he usually felt like a well-made statue, now he looked like an angel in love.

“And…….”

It was creepy.1I don’t know why I found this so funny 🤣

Blatt rubbed his forearm without hesitation.

That’s not a real person.

“I have to go back now.”

“Yes? What about the Wave?”

“We always do the cleaning up after the war, right? Send a message to each fortress. The war is over and the final cleanup begins tonight.”

“Cleaning up already?”

He felt like he kept asking stupid questions, but he couldn’t help it.

It was just…the number of monsters surrounding Jillian was enormous.

But….

“I almost got it all sorted out.”

“Already?”

“You don’t trust me?”

When Blatt met Jillian’s gaze, his eyes looked like those of an animal.

It seemed like an illusion that would disappear in the blink of an eye.

The golden eyes that were looking at him before were cut longitudinally like a beast’s and stood like blades.

With those eyes, Jillian smiled even more sweetly.

“I have to go back home.”
