Please Save My Child

PSMC CHAPTER 063

“The young lady?”

Reina couldn’t imagine Estelle holding a sword at all. As far as she knew, Estelle never held a sword in the original novel.

“Yes.”

“Young lady, do you want to be a knight too?”

Estelle shook her head at Reina’s question.

“Bonnie is learning something and I’m the only one who’s not doing anything… I want to learn too.”

The reason Estelle didn’t have another teacher was because of Count Embron incident.

Peter stayed up all night after that to find a better candidate, but he couldn’t bring in a new person. Damian thought it would be better to hire after Estelle calmed down a bit.

‘Is it okay now?’

Reina thought for a moment.

“Then what else do you want to learn besides swords?”

“Aside from swords?”

“Yes, just because Bonnie is learning the sword, you don’t have to do the same.”

Estelle pondered for a long time, as if she didn’t expect to  be asked such a question. However, it seemed like she couldn’t come to a conclusion.

Reina didn’t urge Estelle and just waited quietly. Bonita didn’t say much either; just hugged Reina’s waist and looked at Estelle. After some time had passed, Estelle finally said.

“Anything I study would be good.”

“Really?”

“…Yeah, I don’t know anything. So, I think it would be fun to learn anything.”

Estelle whispered her thoughts.

“The last teacher was scary, but Dad apologized. He told me to say no right away if I didn’t want to do it next time. And Dad would protect me. So I think it’ll be fun to learn next time.”

Reina quietly hugged Estelle with one hand.

“…Next time, you won’t be scared.”

“Yeah.”

* * *

‘When I meet the master, I have to talk about the young lady’s teacher.’

Reina, who came to the study with the children, arranged the children’s books that the two children would read on the table. Bonita and Estelle sat side by side and read a book each, sharing it with each other.

‘Come to think of it, was there a story about the next teacher in the original?’

There was nothing particularly special about it even when she tried to remember it.

“Is it that I can’t remember… or is there nothing to remember?”

It would be nice if she could remember everything from beginning to end at once. Reina let out a deep sigh.

“Why are you sighing again this time?”

“I’m frustrated…”

“Why?”

“So…”

Reina answered naturally, then came to her senses. She lifted her head that had been bowed down, and saw a now familiarーnot scaryー and blunt face.

“Master?”

“Yes.”

Even so, there was nothing she could do about her frozen body. It was an automatic reflex.

“What brings you here, Master?”

Does he come to see the young lady?

“I came to find you.”

“Oh, me… pardon?”

“I came to find you.”

“Uh, why me?”

Reina couldn’t hide her embarrassment because she never dreamed that he would come to find her. Damian seemed to not know why Reina was embarrassed.

“Didn’t we talk this morning? I’ll invest.”

“R-right?”

“The place and materials are all ready, so let’s go see it.”

“Yes?”

Reina knew. Damian and Peter would be ready in a week. But she didn’t know it would be this fast.

“Is that something that could be prepared in one day?”

“It shouldn’t be difficult. It’ll be solved if we hire someone.”

‘Honestly, it was a little creepy that he could borrow money to hire that many people on the spot.’

“…It’s scary that the results will come out in a week if this continues.”

“Hmm.”

Damian didn’t really deny it. That silence made Reina even more scared.

It wasn’t that she didn’t like it, but when people experience things progressing too quickly, they couldn’t help but think, “No matter what, this isn’t right.”

“It doesn’t mean that everything, including the magic stones, is ready. I meant that we should check the space first.”

“A-ah. I-I see. Somehow… That’s right. It’ll take a day or two to prepare the magic stones and equipment needed for the experiment….”

“If we do that, it’ll all be ready.”

“…”

“How many magicians and technicians do we need? It might be difficult to recruit high-ranking personnel because the Magic Tower has been busy recently, but we can bring in anyone with skills better than the Imperial Magician.”

And he continued, “Would about 10 magicians and 30 technicians be enough?”

Reina swallowed her tears inside.

“Master…”

“Yes.”

“Can you give me a moment to think about it?”

Yes, Reina overlooked it. Damian was the one who even tried to give the land deed to his eight-year-old daughter. It must have been an action that took into account her young age.

‘He was also thinking about giving me a few hundred million theon at first…’

Compared to that, the cost of this experiment might not have been that large.

‘But I’m scared to ask.’

Reina let out a deep sigh even in front of Damian.

“I, I have something to ask…”

“Yes.”

“Should I go to that mansion too?”

“Of course, since you’re the person in charge.”

“When can I go?”

“Right now.”

Reina wanted to cry.

“No. I’ll lose even if we go now, so we’ll go tomorrow.”

Even though he corrected it, Reina wanted to cry.

‘Give me time to prepare myself mentally.’

If she had known it would go this fast, she wouldn’t have gone to Damian at dawn to discuss it.

Damian nodded without knowing Reina’s speed.

“I wanted to go faster, but it was too much.”

“…I don’t think it can be done any faster than this.”

Really. Seriously. Reina swallowed the words that she couldn’t reach.

* * *

Reina wasn’t that laid-back. A person who could take it easy, someone who could do anything slowly, meant that they had that much leeway.

Reina, who had neither time nor money, couldn’t afford to be relaxed. However, even Reina couldn’t keep up with Damian’s speed.

‘I wonder if the young lady felt this way too.’

She couldn’t dare compare the affection that Damien poured on Estelle, but she felt like she could understand Estelle a little bit. Even if it was half and half, it was something like this.

“Mom, Mom, the carriage is coming.”

“Wow, the carriage is huge…”

“…”

Bonita and Estelle, who were holding each other’s hands tightly next to Reina, couldn’t hide their excitement.

“Are you really going to follow?”

“Yeah.”

The two children answered at the same time.

“It might not be fun.”

“It’s okay.”

“It’s okay.”

Reina, who looked down at the little children who were giving the same answer at the same time, sighed inwardly and looked at the carriage coming from far away.

‘I wonder if it’s okay.’

After receiving notice from Damian yesterday, they decided to leave this morning. And after hearing that story, Bonita and Estelle both became interested and insisted on following. There was no way Reina and Damian could beat the two children, so they all decided to head to Count Embron’s private mansion together.

‘More than that, the carriage is… really huge.’

To exaggerate a little, it was bigger than the house Reina and Bonita lived in.

‘No, maybe it’s not an exaggeration.’

It was that impressive. The huge carriage stopped right in front of Reina and the children. As they stared blankly at the carriage, wondering if they could ride it, they heard footsteps behind them.

“Are you planning to walk?”

Damian said in a nonchalant tone and opened the carriage door.

“Are we going to take this carriage?”

“Then are you really planning to walk? Or do you know how to ride a horse?”

“Oh, I don’t know how to ride a horse…”

“Then let’s take the carriage. If we walk, we’ll arrive when the sun sets.”

Damian put the children in the carriage one by one and held out his gloved hand to Reina.

“Hold on and go up. The steps are high, so you might fall.”

“T-thank you.”

Reina took Damian’s outstretched hand. She could clearly feel the cold leather.

“Isn’t master riding with us?”

Reina asked when Damian showed no sign of getting on the carriage. Damian nodded nonchalantly and pointed to the horse behind him.

“I can ride on horseback.”

Reina pulled her head up and looked at the horse behind. The pitch-black horse, which resembled Damian, had glossy fur and was larger than any other horse.

‘Did he choose a horse that looked similar from the beginning? Or does it gradually become more similar?’

She thought that all animals looked the same, but that horse was definitely more handsome than the others. But that wasn’t what was important right now.

“If master doesn’t ride the carriage, is it okay for me to ride?”

“It doesn’t matter. Besides, it’s inside the dukedom anyway. No matter where I go, can’t I ride the horse?”

“Oh, it’s not outside the dukedom.”

“Of course. The dukedom is not a distance that can be traveled back and forth in one day. It’s a residence within the dukedom.”

“Well, if you’re going to do research, it’s better to have a place you can go back and forth often.”

“That’s right. That’s why it was decided.”

Damian closed the carriage door firmly after that. Because of that, Reina couldn’t say anything else. Damian knocked on the carriage from outside.

“Let’s go.”

The carriage started and Damian climbed on the horse.
