Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 31.3

Two days later, several guests visited the Biscon mansion. It’s not because of the upcoming tea party. That’s because there’s still a week left.

Vix removed all the furniture from the largest living room as Eugenie requested. He also cleaned out anything that could be broken. From paintings on the walls to tapestries.

In the end, all that was left in the largest drawing room of the Biscon Manor was the curtain. Eugenie thought about taking the curtains away, but he left them behind just in case.

“What are you trying to do?”

Shirley asked Jane in front of the completely empty drawing room door. The two looked at the living room, which had no place to sit, and wondered what Lady Eugenie was trying to do.

“Do you want to practice dancing?”

“They say all the customers are women.”

“What about Count Burns?”

She heard that one of the guests was Count Burns. He’s incredibly handsome, but a bit scary.

Shirley and Jane thought about Count Burns and wondered for a moment whether they should frown. Looking at him, the two realized that there is a difference between being kind and being polite.

“I don’t think he’ll come.”

“Okay? I think I’ll come.”

Shirley and Jane’s eyes collided with each other’s conflicting opinions. Jane spoke first.

“He will come. Didn’t you see what I was doing to the young lady?”

Jane still vividly remembers the shock she felt when she first saw Count Burns. To be exact, the time he greeted Lady Eugenie.

She almost wondered if he was the same person who first entered the house. His expressionless face and cold, cold demeanor suddenly relaxed as soon as he saw Lady Eugenie.

“I heard from someone from another family that there are a lot of men who are rude to workers and flirt with suitors.”

Jane shook her head at Shirley’s words and said,

“We were there too. I do not remember? The man who said Melanging was Melanging.”

“Ah, that’s right. Jimmy was annoyed by that person.”

As soon as she arrived, she didn’t even say hello and just said one word to Vix.

She didn’t even ask for a cup of tea or if she could have some. Even the Vix of the world changed their expressions at the mere sight of the word ‘cha’. It is said that it was added to Jimmy who took the car. He threw down her handkerchief and said one word:

Suck it up.

“Count Burns is not that kind of person.”

He is polite. He nods his head and speaks to the servant who comes out to greet him. Good morning. He had a promise to Lady Biscon.

“It doesn’t look like a good morning at all.”

Jane giggled at Shirley’s words. She laughs now, but when she hears those words in front of him, her body stiffens. This is because Count Burns speaks with an expressionless face without a trace of laughter.

Jimmy said the same thing. He says that if you take the tea, he will say hello and say he will drink it well. However, there was still no facial expression, so opinions among the servants were divided between those who thought he was being sarcastic and those who thought he had no facial expression.

Even when Tom knocked over the teacup, Count Burns’ expression did not change. He just said it was okay.

So the Biscon family’s servants concluded that although Earl Burns was polite, he was not kind.

“You don’t have to be nice to us. As long as you are polite, I welcome you, Count Burns.”

Jane looked puzzled at Shirley’s words. Are you saying you don’t think he’ll come? When Shirley saw Jane’s expression, she frowned and said,

“Didn’t you hear the rumor? The rumor that Count Burns murdered Duke Germarot’s son.”

“Uh, isn’t that a rumor?”

Everyone in the Biscon family thinks it’s a rumor. If that were true, the first thing Countess Biscon would have ordered Vix to ban Count Burns from entering.

But as far as Shirley and Jane knew, the Countess had given no such instructions. Vix also said he had not heard anything. And she didn’t forget to watch her mouth.

“It’s a rumor, but it’s a bad rumor anyway. If you were that polite, wouldn’t you come?”

“What does courtesy have to do with not coming? I’m in love with Lady Eugenie, so she might come.”

“Because you’re so polite and infatuated, you won’t come.”

Jane looked like she still didn’t know what Shirley said. Shirley clicked her tongue and continued her sentence.

“If you come to see Lady Eugenie while such a rumor is spreading, she could also get caught up in the rumor.”

Even so, Lady Eugenie had to suffer from rumors for a while because of damned Sir Rensid. If she were Shirley, she would have published in the newspaper the reasons why she was breaking off the engagement.

“Wait, so she might not be courting the lady?”

Shirley looked at her in surprise at Jane’s words. Currently, there are only two men courting Eugenie. Earl Burns and Lord Ryan. At some point Sir Heinz broke off his furtive steps. It’s not that rare. There are many men who change their targets when they think they have no chance.

“You shouldn’t do that.”

Of course, if Jane and Shirley had to choose a better suitor between Lord Heinz and Lord Ryan, they would choose Lord Ryan.

But if you had to choose between Lord Ryan and Earl Burns? They will laugh at the questioner.

“You two, what are you doing here?”

At that time, the butler appeared behind Shirley and Jane and asked. The two people, startled, jumped up, looked back at the butler, and sighed.

“You were surprised.”

“What are you talking about that you don’t even know is coming?”

What story? Count Burns said he might not be courting her. But the two knew that if they said something like that to Vix, he would scold them and tell them not to talk nonsense.

Shirley said while Jane was wondering what to say.

“What are you planning to do here, young lady?”

No one in this house knows. She said she asked Miss Escala who it was, and that she said it was a secret, to which Miss Escala laughed. That goes for Ms. Liz as well.

No one thought to ask Lord Lannon.

“Well.”

Vix said as he looked around the empty living room. He didn’t hear it either.

“Don’t you know, butler?”

He’s not pretending not to know? In response to Jane’s question, Vix looked back at the two and sighed. In fact, I can roughly guess what they are doing this for. That’s why he deliberately didn’t ask Eugenie what she was going to do.

“The reason you’re not telling us is because it’s better for us not to know.”

“Hey, where is that? At least the butler should know.”

Vix grinned at Shirley’s words. She’s right. At least he should know. That is why he advised Eugenie that it would be better to leave her curtains behind.

Of course, Eugenie did not tell me this. He worked at the Biscon Mansion for a long time, and he is very close to the people of the Biscon family. Having seen Eugenie since she was born, he now knew roughly what Eugenie was thinking.

“Think about it carefully. The lady is keeping it a secret from us and the Countess. What does this mean?”

Vix said that and turned his body to leave. It was soon time for the young lady’s guests to arrive. Tea must be served in the small parlor until everyone arrives.

“Not only the Countess but also the Master doesn’t know.”

Jane muttered as she looked at Vix leaving. The only person in this house who knows Lady Eugenie’s plans is Lady Eugenie. Then, Shirley said.

“I’m sure Count Burns knows, right?”

“You know. He said he originally wanted to do it at his house.”

“I’m glad I switched to this house.”

Jane asked, surprised by Shirley’s words.

“Didn’t you change it because of Count Burns’ rumors?”

“No. Ma’am told me to do it here.”

“Oh. Then the rumor is wrong.”

There are also such rumors going around. It is said that Lady Biscon, who learned that Earl Burns murdered Duke Germaroth’s son, changed the work she had originally planned to do at Count Burns’ house to her own.

Shirley shook her head at Jane’s words and said,

“Look. You can’t trust rumors.”

Rumors cannot be trusted. A few tens of minutes later, Eugenie was thinking the same thing. Who said noble ladies prefer holding needles rather than swords?

She expected one or two people to say they wouldn’t come, but all the people who said they would come were sitting on the sofa in the small living room. There was even a person holding something long wrapped in cloth.

“Miss Rogoso, what is that?”

Erica smiled brightly at Eugenie’s question. She brought what she had from home. She said, slightly loosening the end of the cloth.

“I brought it because I was worried it might be lacking. It was in the warehouse.”

The sword handle with ornate decoration was slightly revealed. this. Claire chuckled without realizing it. Then she removed the cloth from the basket Lisa had brought, took out a sword as big as her forearm, and said,

“Oh, me too.”

Oh my god. Eugenie burst out laughing. She didn’t know everyone would be this passionate.

Unfortunately, there is no need to use the swords brought by Miss Grunt and Miss Rogoso. At least for a while.

“I won’t use the real sword for a while.”

At Claire’s words, expressions of regret appeared on Erica and Lisa’s faces. They both picked up the best-looking sword from the warehouse. Lisa said, showing a sword decorated with jewels.

“It’s a shame. I wanted to try this.”

“Someday.”

Eugenie said that with a smile. There may be a day when I use the real sword.

But it wasn’t Claire. She shook her head and said.

“It’s my job to make sure you don’t have to use the Jingeom. I hope I don’t have to write anything.”

Thanks to this, laughter erupted in the living room. She’s right. Knowing how to use a sword and actually using it are two different things. Claire hoped that Balcian would be a peaceful country where ordinary people would not raise swords.

At the same time, I hoped that if something happened to the people here, I would be able to protect myself.

“Then shall we move?”

At Eugenie’s suggestion, the gathered women flocked to the large drawing room. In the empty drawing room, Eugenie had just placed her practice wooden sword with the help of Julia and Lauren.

“Vix, how is it?”

Some time after Eugenie entered the drawing room with the guests, the Countess of Biscon, who had gone out, returned. Even though he returned home earlier than expected, Vix didn’t panic. The same would be true for Eugenie.

They both knew that the Countess of Biscon was curious about her daughter’s second entertainment. She also expected that she would try to pull her ears to see.

That’s why Vix didn’t say anything. As he led the way to the large drawing room without saying a word, Seimaria opened the drawing room door slightly with a curious expression.

And then it hardened.
