Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 31.2

It wasn’t long before she realized why Elliot had made such a strange request to her. When she invited Lauren and Julia and explained that their plans had changed, Lauren looked at Julia.

“What’s the matter?”

Julia also looked at Lauren and couldn’t continue her words, so Eugenie asked her. What were they doing? They both looked at her once and then at each other again. And Julia opened her mouth first.

“Is it Eugenie’s idea that the location changed? Or not…”

“It’s my opinion. My mother wanted us to do it at home.”

“The Countess still doesn’t know what we’re doing?”

She grinned at Julia’s question. Of course she didn’t know.

“She might faint when she finds out.”

She said, lifting the teacup. Her mother might faint for real. Nevertheless, the reason it was going ahead was because there were people who wanted to do it. Julia and Lauren, as well as Lisa, said they wanted to do it. and the transfer of Logoso. Once we’ve gathered a few people, let’s get started.

Then, Lauren asked cautiously.

“What does Count Burns say?”

“Change of location? He told me to do that. No, rather…”

She said it was fortunate. As she stopped talking, Lauren and Julia’s eyes met again. Ah, what was it? She took a sip of tea and put the tea cup down.

And after confirming that the two had not yet touched the tea and cake, she asked.

“What’s going on?”

Lauren looked at Julia again. She looked confused when they asked me to talk to them. Then this time Julia opened her mouth.

“Well, there have been rumors about Count Burns recently. Rumors, not rumors…”

What do you mean, if it’s a rumor, it’s a rumor, but it’s not a rumor? Lauren said to her who was confused.

“Well, we thought it was a rumor too.”

“What is the rumor?”

Luren pursed her lips in response to my question. This time Julia came forward and spoke.

“Count Burns. You said he defeated the dragon and saved the country, right?”

“They said he didn’t defeat it.”

Did they say he persuaded it? She tilted her head and lifted her teacup. Julia paused at her words and asked cautiously.

“Well, did you also say that there was a hero who came first?”

“A warrior?”

Did it come first too? She widened her eyes and Julia nodded her head. She didn’t know which part to ask first. Among the part about there being someone who came first and the part about being a hero.

“Well, there was a hero who came to defeat the dragon first. But that…”

Julia, who had said that far, began to hesitate. She looked at her with an expression asking why, and Julia and Lauren looked at each other again and then said.

“Count Burns said that he, the hero, he, I mean…”

“Therefore?”

“Lord, they said he killed him.”

For a moment, a dull silence came into the living room. She stared at Julia and Lauren, thinking they were telling a bad joke. But it seemed that wasn’t the case.

“People say that Count Burns killed the warrior and made a deal with the dragon.”

Huh. Two questions came to mind again. The first thing she asked was what she was curious about.

“What deal?”

“There are many things, and one of them is to sacrifice those people to the dragon.”

Okay, that was the second question. Who were those people? When she frowned, Julia knew why she frowned and said,

“Those people. I guess they were guests at Duke Germarot’s house.”

“The duke’s guest? Wait a moment.”

The only guests who have recently visited the duke’s house are friends who have gone on a trip with the duke’s son. Only then did she remembered the story she heard on the boat.

The story was that Hildesar paid a lot of money to hire a mercenary to catch a dragon.

At the time, everyone just laughed and passed it off. Slaying a dragon? Even Balsian, the hero who founded this country, could not catch the dragon. He simply caused the evil Chrysa to leave for the other side of the continent. He even died during the battle because the wounds he sustained never healed. Next to Balcian was the fairy Mago, the founding king of this country. Even though the fairy was by his side, the strongest warrior had to risk his life to chase the dragon away. But did Hildesar catch the dragon?

“Hmm. I don’t think Count Germarot’s skills were up to that level.”

When he was young, while sparring with her, he swung his sword behind her. Then she hit him and he fell. Thanks to this, the back of Hildezar’s head was broken.

“Wait, the scars from that time are still there?”

After that, she heard that Hilde Saar’s hair stopped growing on a part of the back of his head. Oliver laughed so hard that he got scolded by his mother.

Julia and Lauren laughed as if they were dumbfounded, but then they hardened their expressions and spoke as if they were remembering the seriousness of the matter.

“It seems like the mercenaries that Count Germarot brought were quite skilled. They say he fought a dragon with a whistle.”

“Hmm?”

Was that really possible? She tilted her head but didn’t say anything so that Julia and Lauren could continue talking. According to legend, the warriors Balcian, Winipria, Seimaria, and Mago were world-renowned geniuses. He was also the only hero who drove out the dragon on the entire continent.

She winked at Julia and Lauren to continue talking. Then the two looked at each other again and cautiously opened their mouths.

“Well, they say that Count Voltigor fought the dragon and was close to winning, but Count Burns proposed a deal to the dragon.”

“Huh.”

Elliot? She groaned that this was nonsense, but again didn’t say anything. Then Lauren said.

“He wants me to fight the dragon with him and make him a hero.”

That couldn’t be possible. The children stopped talking again, probably because her face was distorted. Shit. She sighed, angry that such a ridiculous rumor was being spread. And to hide her angry expression, she lifted the teacup and put it to her lips.

“So the dragon made Count Burns a hero? What does the dragon get?”

“That…”

Lauren hesitated. What did Daaribhon gain? She stopped drinking her tea and just looked at her. Then Julia spoke instead.

“Well, they said he wanted to eat the most noble person.”

“Daaribhoni?”

She don’t know if it’s Chrysa, but what about Daaribhon? No, wait. According to records, Chrysa also did not eat humans much. It’s written that it probably didn’t taste good. But Daaribhon eats humans? Did Daaribhon suddenly go crazy? Wait, can dragons go crazy?

Shelooked at Lauren and Julia blankly at the nonsensical story. Elliot may have arrived a second time. But she betrays those who came before her to become a hero? On the side of the dragon? And he returns to the palace pretending he’s a hero?

That’s not the Elliot she knew. At least Elliot didn’t really like being a hero.

“So, Count Germaroth was eaten?”

She stopped trying to imagine Daarihbon eating Hildejar. Regardless of her feelings about Hildejar, it was not a very pleasant fantasy.

“Uh, yes. They say that when Daaribhon took Count Germaroth out of the cage to eat him, Count Germaroth let them escape.”

“Ha ha ha ha ha.”

Ah, this was a really interesting novel. She burst out laughing at the ridiculous story.

By giving in about a hundred steps, no, by giving up about 10,000 steps, Elliot could have harmed those who came first and made a deal with the dragon because he wanted to be a hero. After he became a hero and received a noble title, he might have wanted to fight the knights who challenged him. But Hildezar said that at the moment of his death he sent the others fleeing? That’s really, really ridiculous.

“I also think this is a rumor.”

Julia wrinkled her nose and said to me, who was laughing at the nonsense. She also knows a little bit about what kind of man Count Germarot was. Hildejar was one of Sir Escalee’s troubles.

“It won’t be the Duke and Duchess of Germarot.”

She stopped laughing at Julia’s next words. She knew.

To her at least, Hildesar was a mean and incompetent idiot, but to his parents he was loving and proud, wait. Let’s leave out the proud.

He must be a lovely son.

The story of their son going on an adventure and being eaten by a dragon was scary enough, but the person who made him that way has become a hero.

Aside from the fact that this rumor was nonsense, the feelings of the Duke and Duchess of Germarot couldn’t be expressed in words. Especially the Duchess.

“Hmm,” She bit her lip. Then she asked Julia and Lauren.

“Where did you hear this?”

Lauren and Julia both said they heard about it from friends at the Academy. This meant that if it had spread to children at the academy, it had also spread to almost all social circles.

Shit.

Once again she found herself late to the social gossip. Maybe everyone was just being careful about what they say to her. Then, Julia said.

“Well, and.”

Julia said after studying her for a moment.

“There are rumors that the Marchioness of Henderson is going to sue Count Burns.”

Her eyes widened at the sudden name. Who? Marchioness Henderson? Why was that person here?

Julia continued talking to her who was confused.

“They said they disrupted and toyed with the country through their unjust actions.”

Huh. A moan came out again. But immediately a question came to mind.

“Why Marchioness Henderson?”

Julia and Lauren looked like they were wondering what that meant. She said, tilting her head while holding the teacup in her hand.

“Anyone can file a complaint for disturbing and torturing the country through unjust acts.”

In particular, any noble person would be able to accuse Count Burns. Because of that, her son was eaten by a dragon, no, in other words… Because of that, it makes sense for the Duke and Duchess of Germarot to file a complaint, as they believe their son was eaten by a dragon.

But the Marchioness of Henderson? She said, wrinkled my nose.

“Why Marchioness Henderson?”
