Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 28.5

Wait a moment. Now that she thought about it, Sir Escalee said something about that before. That Lord Psylocke would come to apologize to Oliver. Did he come?

He didn’t come. She didn’t even think it was strange that he didn’t come. He must have had too much pride to come to apologize and ended up laughing at him. And from that day on, Oliver never came home.

“Oh my god.”

She covered her forehead with my hands and moaned. A bad thought occurred to her.

“What do you think will happen between Lord Psylocke and Baron Biscon?”

Elliot asked. She looked at him, not knowing what to say. She did not know. Maybe she was making assumptions. However, the man who ran away and the man who fainted went to the doctor. Also, a doctor with a heavy mouth. Could it be that there was some problem between Lord Psylocke and Oliver? So, if Oliver needed a doctor…

“Eugenie?”

She went straight into the mansion. Elliot quickly caught up with her and asked if she had jumped over the fence.

“If you’re going to the magistrate…”

“No. I’m going home.”

Elliot raised an eyebrow. He looked like he was asking why she was going home, but he called for a carriage without saying a word.

“Eugenie? You came back quickly?”

Claire, who was still on probation, was staying in their guest room. She had to stay at least until her arm healed, her mother insisted.

She was getting ready for bed and had put on a robe over her nightgown. She looked surprised upon my return, then she spotted Elliot and asked, frowning at her.

“Is there a problem?”

She came back as soon as he went to the prom, and Elliott came with her, so she must have sensed that something was not out of the ordinary.

“Lord Psylocke. Do you know where he lives?”

Claire’s face went blank and then distorted at the sudden question. Instead of answering her, she looked at Elliot and said with a disapproving look on her face.

“Roughly speaking. Is it dangerous?”

That’s not it, was not it? She didn’t know, so she kept her mouth shut. They said he needed a doctor. If so, it might be dangerous.

“Me too…”

When she didn’t say anything, Claire said that and turned her body. She said, quickly grabbing her uninjured arm.

“Just tell me the address.”

“If you’re doing it because of my arm, it’s okay.”

She guessed she thought it was because her arm was injured. That was also a reason. But there was something else she wanted to ask Claire.

She shook her head.

“No. Claire needs to do something else.”

It’s more important. She told her the story she overheard at the prom. And she asked her to bring Sir Escalee and the doctor to Sir Psylocke’s house.

“It might just be my guess.”

Even so, if Oliver was really imprisoned there, and if he was injured, he needed a doctor. Claire quickly realized her intention and nodded her head. And as if to warn Elliot, she said:

“Do not leave Lady Biscon’s side.”

Elliot raised an eyebrow, but he said nothing. She didn’t know if these two people had a bad relationship or a good relationship.

She reassured Claire not to worry and got back into the carriage with Elliot.

It’s an ambiguous perspective. It’s been about an hour since the evening dance started, so people were probably still dancing. And it was also the time when people who didn’t like prom that much, like Ellingser, would sneak out.

They quickly drove down the deserted road and headed to the address Claire had told them about. Elliot asked as he picked up his cane, which he had left in a corner of the carriage, and fiddled with it.

“What do you plan to do?”

Plan? There was no such thing. It was only after hearing his question that she realized that she had rushed out without a plan. When she heard Oliver’s name, she thought nothing of it.

“Well, should I knock on the door and ask politely?”

She was asking if Oliver iwa there. She chuckled at the absurd thought. Just ask if Oliver was there and they would tell her.

But Elliot didn’t laugh. When she looked at him, he narrowed his eyes, looked at her, and said:

“It’s a good idea.”

Didn’t this man trust her too much? She gaped at his positive response. And she spoke quickly.

“No, I didn’t think anything of it. I just said it.”

It’s difficult if he trusted her like that. She meant, she didn’t trust herself either. But Elliot spoke steadfastly.

“No. Sounds like a good idea.”

“I beg your pardon?”

“Because if you show up, they’ll let down their guard. That’s what we’re aiming for.”

Sounds like a good idea. They would be shocked if their little sister shows up to look for Oliver. If he aimed for that…

“Or not.”

Suddenly a good idea occurred to her. She said with a grin.

“Becoming a doctor.”

Elliot looked like he was wondering what that meant. Didn’t those men say it earlier? They said they were looking for a doctor with a heavy mouth.

Elliot then grinned as if he realized what she was talking about. He said, holding out his staff to her.

“Let’s go, Doctor Eugenie.”

‘Uh, am I going to be a doctor?’

“Not you?”

“They most likely know my face.”

Wasn’t that the same for her too? Since they were both nobles, they may know their faces. Because they could have met somewhere.

“I’ve had a few run-ins with the knights.”

Come to think of it, when Elliot first appeared in the capital, he got into a bit of a bad light in the newspaper because he got into a fight with the knights. Oliver said that since he was a man who fought and defeated a dragon, he seemed curious about his skills.

“And.”

The carriage stopped. Elliot added, placing his wand in her hand.

“I don’t think there’s anyone in that house with more medical knowledge than you.”

She hoped so. She got out of the carriage with the help of Elliot, who got off first. And after sending the carriage, she knocked on the door of the house Claire had told her about.

“Who are you?”

Fortunately, the person who opened the door was a man she had never seen before. She guessed he’s a butler. She straightened her back and spoke.

“I have come to see Lord Psylocke.”

“Who are you?”

It was against etiquette to visit at this late hour. If it were Vix, he would have flatly refused to come next time. But who was Lord Psylocke’s butler?

They say Lord Psylocke is looking for a doctor. Bi…ah, no.”

She almost said Biscon. When she kept her mouth shut, the butler frowned and asked.

“Biano?”

“Yes. It’s Doctor Biano.”

Would it work? She looked at the suspicious look on the butler’s face as if asking what was the problem. he asked, looking her up and down.

“A doctor?”

It seemed to be his first time seeing a female doctor. To be honest, she only saw it once. A doctor had to be called when Oliver, who was sneaking in at dawn, fell from a tree.

When he seemed to doubt her words, she opened her mouth first.

“They said they were looking for a doctor with no big mouth. If not, I’d just go back.”

This was a gamble. There was a good chance that Lord Psylocke’s butler would not believe her. But he was only a butler. It depended on what instructions Lord Psylocke gave him.

Could the butler send back the heavy-mouthed doctor who came to visit on his own at this late hour without the owner’s permission?

“No, just a moment, just a moment.”

As she expected, the butler’s attitude softened. In a much more cautious manner than before, he asked her to wait a moment and went inside.

It was not the time yet. She sighed and turned her attention to where Elliot was hiding. She stayed close to the wall so as not to be noticed by the butler.

“Let’s wait and see.”

That was when Elliot spoke in a low voice. Immediately, footsteps were heard from inside again. And the butler who opened the door spoke.

“Please come in.”

As she entered the house, the butler stuck his head out the door. Ugh. She was nervous because she thought Elliot might be found out, but it looks like he didn’t find him. The butler nodded, turned back to her and pointed down the hallway to his right.

“Please come this way.”

Were they going to meet Lord Psylocke? Suddenly, she wondered if Lord Psylocke knew her face. They met once. It was a ball held at the mansion of Marquis Psylocke. He asked her to dance there, but she refused.

At that time, she was engaged to Awning. Because she had to have her first dance with Awning she refused. So she said a third dance would be possible, but Lord Psylocke’s face got red and he just walked away.

Sometimes there were people like that. People who couldn’t accept rejection regardless of the reason. Did Lord Psylocke remember what happened then? She did not know. First of all, she forgot about it until today.

“Am I not going to see Lord Psylocke?”

The butler who came up to this floor led her to a room at the end of the hallway. Even if you look at it, the door was not the bedroom door used by the master’s family.

At her question, the butler looked troubled for a moment and then said.

“I called you because our guest was not feeling well. The doctor only needs to look at the patient.”

Then she took out the key and opened the door. She knew for sure that it’s not Lord Psylocke in here.
