Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 28.1

“Oh my god. My ears still feel ringing.”

She let out a small moan at her mother’s words. The concert she attended yesterday was truly terrible. This was because it was Lord Devon’s family concert, not the musicians invited. As the summer heat subsided, performances such as concerts and plays began. Sometimes a band or theater company is invited to perform, but sometimes family members perform themselves. It was Lord Devon who was invited last night. He was very interested in music and he believes that he too can make great music. And he thought his children are also talented in music.

“Melanie is probably the only one in the house with ears.”

She laughed out loud at his mother’s grumbling. That’s right. Lord Devon, his wife, and their two sons seemed very proud of their performance. Just one person. Only the youngest child, Melanie, looked like she was going to die of embarrassment.

“People might think the same way about concerts at my house.”

She said with a smile. Her house was also holding a concert in a few days. Only close people were invited. This was because it was polite to hold at least one or two events during the social season.

“That can’t be possible.”

Her mother said firmly. Well, she wished so.

“That’s strange.”

At that time, her mother, who was burying her body deeply into the back of the sofa, adjusted her posture and said, huh? She sat with her feet up on the sofa and looked at her mother from reading the newspaper. Did this mean the upcoming Biscon concert was strange?

“Vix!”

The next moment, her mother called out to the butler. And when he stuck his head out, she asked as if it was strange.

“Did Oliver come in yesterday?”

Vix’s eyes turned to her. Oh, sure. Oliver didn’t come in yesterday.

“No. I don’t think he came in.”

She thought he might have come in early in the morning, changed his clothes, and left right away, but it seemed that wasn’t the case. Her mother’s face darkened when she heard that there was no sign of him ever entering Oliver’s bedroom.

“Shall we contact the club?”

That would be nice. If you ask the manager of the club, he’ll tell you if Oliver slept there. She nodded.

“Yes. Please do so.”

“Wait a moment.”

At that time, her mother came out and stopped Vix. As we stared she frowned and said,

“How old is Oliver, but wouldn’t people think it was funny if I said I was looking for him just because he’s been here for a day?”

Um, was that so? She looked at the butler and he looked unsure. So did she. Would people laugh at a mother looking for her son who didn’t come home the day before?

“It seems like I’m being overprotective. If only he were engaged, I wouldn’t have to worry about this.”

Aha. It seemed like someone asked whether the reason Oliver hasn’t gotten engaged yet was because his mother was overprotective. Her stupid brother. She frowned as she remembered Oliver, who wasn’t even engaged by that age. At least she broke off the engagement, but she still got engaged. She didn’t know what was more unfilial. To break off their engagement or to never get engaged in the first place. Wasn’t she better though? She thought so, but Oliver might think the opposite.

“Then let’s just say I’m looking for him.”

She turned to Vix and said. he was supposed to buy something for her sister, but he didn’t come home yesterday, so he just had to tell them that his sister was looking for him.

Vix nodded his head with an expressionless face and walked away. He must be relieved on the inside. He was able to escape before her mother started complaining.

“Did you hear anything?”

Sure enough, her mother started complaining. She quickly picked up the teacup and took a sip of tea.She did not have to answer if there was food in her mouth.

“He definitely takes after his father. I gave birth to him so well, but why doesn’t he tell me that there’s a girl he likes?”

Oh, it’s been a while. Recently, various incidents have occurred, but even before that, her mother would often complain to her like this. Since she got her engaged, she hoped Oliver finds a good woman quickly and gets engaged too.

“Or perhaps he…”

Her mother, who had said that far, stopped. Him too? When she looked up, her mother frowned and said,

“No, no.”

Then she stood up and changed the subject.

“Shouldn’t you just go out and look? They said the swimming pool is closed today.”

Yes. She checked the time and got up. The swimming pool was open until today only. Many people were expected to come on the last day. There were so many people that they probably won’t be able to swim. They asked for understanding in advance, but there were still many people who wanted to come because it was the last day.

“Eugenie’s brother?”

Julia and Lauren were already working on the ship. She secretly called Lauren over and asked her if Oliver had gotten married in her dreams.

“Hmm…”

A wrinkle appeared between Lauren’s eyebrows. Don’t frown. She almost said that. Oh my, she was going to sound just like her mother.

“I don’t know. I consciously avoided rumors that someone was married.”

She may have done it, but she didn’t know because she didn’t pay attention on purpose. Was Oliver really not married? As her complexion darkened, Lauren spoke again.

“I heard Lord Lannon dreamed of him too. Why don’t you ask Lord Lannon? She was closer to Eugenie and stayed longer.”

‘Oh, I see.’ Lord Lannon probably knows what’s going on around her better than she did. She nodded and started checking to see if the last operation would go smoothly.

“Eugenie.”

Claire, who had been waiting, came after many people had arrived and left. Claire came by just before closing, and she was chatting with people who were sad about the pool closing.

“I don’t know what to do next, but I have to invite you.”

“Me too.”

At the request of active people, she smiled and got up. She would invite them, but she didn’t know if these people would participate.

“Today is the last day. That’s too bad.”

“I’ll keep the water filled for a few more days. So that people who have worked hard can enjoy it. Claire is coming too.”

They would keep the water filled for a few more days, not only for Julia and Lauren, but also for the staff who work here and their maids. Her mother also showed interest, so she thought he would come at least once. Claire nodded quietly. As she was looking at that, she cautiously asked what she wanted to ask earlier.

“Can I ask you about your dream?”

Claire’s face darkened for a moment. She hesitated, then she said.

“You can ask anything, but there are some things I cannot answer.”

“What is it that you can’t answer?”

Was there something she knew but couldn’t say? Claire looked troubled by her question.

“I can’t tell you.”

Huh. There’s something she couldn’t answer, but she couldn’t tell her what it was. She looked at Claire for a moment and then asked.

“In your dream, did Oliver get married?”

Claire’s actions stopped. She looked at me blankly and opened her mouth. Then she closed her eyes and bowed her head.

“Uh, you can’t say this too?”

It’s understandable that we can’t say if Oliver had an accident or died. But you can’t even say whether you’re married or not?

If.

A plausible hypothesis came to mind. It was said that in the dream, a dragon attacked Balcian and all the royal family died. And the fact that I became king means that everyone who had a higher right to succeed to the throne than me has died. The same goes for Oliver. If so, it would mean that even in the dream, Oliver died before getting married.

Oh, shit.

Cursing crawled up her throat without her knowing. Biscon Manor was gone. No, no. Perhaps it may have flowed in a collateral direction. So who became Count Biscon? As she was thinking about that, Claire spoke in a hoarse voice.

“I did.”

“Yes?”

“Count Biscon. He was married.”

“Uh, then…”

This was when she was about to ask if he had any children. Claire spoke as if she had read her thoughts.

“There was no successor. The couple didn’t get along very well.”

She was speechless at this fact that was more shocking than she expected. She heard Oliver and his wife didn’t get along very well. She looked at Claire blankly and said.

“Huh, that’s a bit surprising.”

“Is that so?”

“I thought Oliver was a romanticist.”

“A romanticist?”

Was this a bit funny? Oliver was quite the romanticist. She thought so. Although Oliver dances at the ball, he didn’t engage in long conversations. Under the pretext of his mother’s encouragement and threats, he asked several women to dance. He sometimes asked women who were not invited to dance. But she never saw them talking alone. When she asked him why he didn’t talk, he said.

– I can’t feel it at a glance.

So, Oliver said that at least when he danced, he had to feel like, ‘This is the person!’ If that person comes, you say you will talk to them or something.

“It doesn’t suit you, does it?”

She said with a grin. Oliver knew that too. She guessed that’s why he didn’t talk to other people. Claire had a blank expression. She looked at him with a mixture of mild shock and disbelief on her face and said:

“No. Yes. No, that’s…”

Huh? She looked at Claire, who was suddenly flustered, not knowing why. She pursed her lips like she didn’t know what to say and then looked at her back and asked,

“Isn’t that Viscountess Patterson?”

Viscountess Patterson? When she turned her body, she saw that she was really coming this way.

“Are there not enough refreshments?”

Viscountess Patterson approached her without hesitation and asked. Refreshments? When she tried to ask her what she meant, she stopped talking.

“Her Majesty the Queen sent us refreshments as a thank you for inviting them earlier.”

People erupted in cheers. She grinned and offered the Viscountess a seat.
