Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 24.4

It was Claire. She was riding combatively on her horse, dressed in the uniform of the Knights Templar.

‘Uh, can you stop that?’

The moment she thought that, Elliot hugged her and turned her body around. Her vision was momentarily obscured. She was worried that Claire had fallen off her horse, so she stuck her head out. But Elliot said it was tall and for her to see anything over his shoulder was as difficult as seeing the sun with the naked eye.

She asked her, hoping that Claire hadn’t fallen off.

“Claire, are you okay?”

“It’s okay.”

Only after hearing Claire’s voice did Elliot let go of her. Good strength. She looked at Claire, trying not to smell the good smell coming from him. Her hair was a mess, as if she had run her horse quite a bit. If it was work uniform, there would have been a hat, but the hat had disappeared somewhere. But Claire apologized to her first.

“Sorry.”

She guessed it was an apology for surprising her by running her horse so fast. She said, shaking her head.

“It’s okay. I was just worried that Claire might fall off the horse.”

If the horse suddenly stops while running that fast, it bounces forward. She had heard of such accidents a few times. This applies not only to horses but also to carriages. Claire looks like she’s okay, but she’s not okay. Horse accidents usually happen to people who pride themselves on being good horse riders. On the contrary, people who were not good at riding horses were careful, so accidents did not happen often.

“So, what’s going on?”

She was sure she didn’t come rushing in like this to ask the queen to treat her well. She asked, looking at Claire’s messy hair. She needed to comb it out with a comb. But as soon as she thought that, she roughly combed her hair with her hand and said,

“I think you should know.”

“What?”

Strangely enough, Claire paused. What was she trying to say? She closed her mouth as if hesitating, then opened her mouth again and again, and then said as if she had no choice.

“The Order of the White Lion is planning to attack your Lord, Baron Biscon.”

“White lion, what?”

She couldn’t understand it because it made no sense. The White Lion Knights were attacking Oliver? Why? A black wolf would be just as implausible, but a possibility. Because the black wolf was led by Sir Escalee. You might ask what that has to do with it, but it has something to do with their house anyway. But not a white lion. It was an organization that had nothing to do with their house. She looked back at Elliot to see if he understood.

“You’d better explain in detail.”

Elliot doesn’t seem to understand either. Claire looked slightly disapproving at his request, then turned to me again and began to explain step by step.

“Recently, the relationship between the White Lion Knights and Baron Biscon has not been very good.”

Why was it bad? She saw the look on Elliot’s face and knew she would have the same look on her face.

“Well, Baron Biscon helped me before, right?”

She knew. He also counseled me on that. Of course, not Oliver, but Claire. Oliver didn’t even think he helped with that. He asked her the other day why he helped her and he said he didn’t help her. He just didn’t like people who picked on someone and bullied them. She would like to acknowledge that as her brother. So, not just her brother, but her blood relative.

“Because of that, the Knights were somewhat displeased with Baron Biscon.”

An expression of “What the hell are you talking about” appeared on Elliot’s face, but he didn’t say anything. She breathed a sigh of relief at the attitude that she could listen to the explanation later.

“So?”

She knew that too. So, the White Lion Knights disapprove of Oliver. She hadn’t played the card game she always went to since last week. When she asked him why he did that, he said he had a light fight with some guys playing a card game. But Oliver didn’t really care. He just shrugged his shoulders and said that he could just play card games with other guys. Her mother and she were told to play a card game. It seemed the situation was worse than she thought. Seeing how Claire came running to warn them like this.

“Well, that means you just took care of Baron Biscon…”

“Can you take care of me?”

What was he talking about? She turned to Elliot and he raised an eyebrow at her. She didn’t know if that meant he didn’t know what she’s talking about or that it’s not a big deal.

“Is Oliver in danger?”

She asked calmly. Even so, it is a knighthood, so there is no way it would put the nobles in danger. But Claire couldn’t answer.

“No way.”

Hearing her moans, Elliot quickly grabbed her elbow. She guessed he was worried that she might fall, but her nerves weren’t that thin.

“Where did you say you were going?”

However, the thought that the Knights would never attack Oliver and the thought of what would happen if Oliver was in danger coexisted. Ms. Rogoso was right. No matter how annoying her brother was, he was still her brother. It may be true for her, but it shouldn’t be true for others.

“I do not know. Maybe he went towards the club?”

Oliver was not at the club at this time. It is a day for rowing practice.

“Upstream of the river.”

She blurted out without realizing it. It’s probably upstream of the river. He said he always trains there. It’s good if the drivers didn’t know about it and went to the club, but they could have known and went upriver.

“Claire, can I ask you a favor?”

Someone has to go help Oliver. You can call a magistrate or a servant. Or maybe it would be okay to talk to Lord Escalee. She asked Claire to call the magistrate. Or go to her house and call a servant. Either way, the person Claire brought in just needs to go upriver and make sure Oliver was safe.

“I’m sorry for asking you to do such a troublesome job. Please just call someone.”

If the knights were really going to fight Oliver there, it’s better for Claire to stay away from there. She immediately turned her head to Elliot. And the moment she was about to ask him, he said.

“It’s not possible.”

“Yes?”

“You were trying to ask me to protect Baron Biscon. It’s not possible.”

Right. She didn’t expect Elliot to say no, so she looked at him with wide eyes. Elliot, who saw her expression, closed his eyes once, opened them, and said with a pained expression.

“If the queen were to come here today, this place could be dangerous too. You could be at risk.”

Was that so? She did think that someone might want to attack the queen. But she thought that Her Majesty the Queen was a popular person and that no one of her idiots would dare attack her. Of course, regardless of her thoughts, she placed trustworthy people on and off this ship. She looked straight at Elliot and said.

“I’ll be fine.”

Then Elliot squeezed his eyes shut. Why, why was he doing this? When she looked at Claire in surprise, she saw that she too had a similar expression.

“I don’t like it.”

At that time, Elliot spoke. It was a low, slightly hoarse voice. He continued speaking as if he was enduring pain.

“I don’t care if you hate me for this. I will never leave your side.”

No, something like this wouldn’t make her hate him. She was just curious why he was so reluctant to leave her side. She looked at Elliot for a moment and placed her hand on top of his. And asked carefully.

“You don’t want to help Oliver, do you?”

Only then did a faint smile appear on Elliot’s face. A normal Elliot would have joked that that was true to some extent. But now he didn’t seem to have time to even joke like that.

“Are you going to explain why?”

“No.”

‘No, that’s foul. You act so strangely, tell me it doesn’t matter if I hate you, and then you don’t explain it to me?’

She looked at Claire for an explanation. Then Elliot opened his mouth first.

“She won’t explain herself either.”

She wondered what’s going on. But right now, Oliver was more urgent than that. And Her Royal Highness the Queen would arrive soon.

‘Shit.’

She asked, cupping Elliott’s hand just as she had placed his.

“Is this really not possible?”

Elliot’s eyes narrowed. And soon a faint smile passed across his face.

“If it’s my heart you want, I’ll take it out right now.”

This means that he couldn’t go to help Oliver. To be precise, it meant that he wouldn’t leave her side. Then he couldn’t do it. She quickly turned around and shouted at the boat.

“Julia!”

“What are you going to do?”

Claire asked in surprise. It seemed like he thought he was going to send Julia to where Oliver was, but that’s not the case at all. It might have some effect. If it were her, she would be able to make people hesitate in the name of Sir Escalee. But just in case, she didn’t want Julia to get caught up in the commotion.

“She will ask Julia to fetch Sir Escalee.”

He was the leader of the Black Wolf Knights, but he could also exert influence on the White Lion Knights. Claire’s face darkened at my explanation. Of course, Sir Escalee would not leave the White Lion Knights alone.

“I’ll go.”

Claire said before Julia came out. Was she going? Eugene and Elliot looked at her. Claire spoke again with a stern expression.

“I will go and rescue Baron Biscon.”
