“Thank you so much for your words.”
But Miss Rogoso shook her head and said: She looked at the rest of her peach tart and started eating it again as if she was making a promise. And she spoke with a slightly more determined expression.
“But it’s okay. This year, her sister needs more help than me.”
Right. She remembered what Miss Rogoso had said: you can swear at yourself, but you can’t swear at Lord Turner.
“Me too.”
Ms. Rogoso looked at me as if she didn’t know what she was saying out of the blue. She said with a grin.
“Oh my brother. Even though you are my damn brother, I am the only one who can criticize you. If someone who isn’t even family calls me a fucking Oliver, I won’t let it go.”
A smile also appeared on Ms. Rogoso’s face. We raised our tea cups and made a light toast. He’s a damn brother and a damn sister, but he’s my brother and Miss Rogoso’s sister. She won’t let anyone criticize her.
“Then what are you going to do? Are you going to bring Baroness Kernel to Rogoso Street?”
Miss Logoso has to stick by her side to care for Baroness Kernell, who is still unconscious. Either Miss Rogoso will stay at Kernel Mansion, or she will move Baroness Kernell to her Rogoso Mansion. Before she knew it, Logo So had finished eating her peach tart. When she asked her if she would like another one, she shook her head and said, with an embarrassed look on her face.
“No. I’m going to enter the Kernel Mansion.”
Hmm. Would Baron Kernel allow that? She guessed he could see what she was thinking by the look on her face. Miss Rogoso spoke resolutely.
“Of course, Baron Kernell was not pleased. It looks like she wants to bring her mistress in.”
“Oh my god.”
He seems to be out of his mind. Baron Kernell was still alive and he’s bringing in his lover? Ms. Rogoso, too, no, seemed more angry than me. She said gloomily.
“If her sister had been awake, she would never have allowed it.”
“Of course. It’s crazy to bring the whole government in.”
It must be crazy. When she said that, Miss Rogoso paused and spoke in a low voice.
“Not all, but I think I’d like to bring one person with me.”
“Uh? Just one?”
She heard that Baron Kernell has about five or six mistresses? Was he bringing only one of them? So what about the rest? No, why was he bringing only one person? Miss Rogoso frowned and said to her who was confused.
“Yes. Just one person. I think the last mistress had a child.”
What? She stared blankly at Miss Rogoso in disbelief. Despite having so many mistresses, he had no news of any children even after several years of marrying Baron Kernell. But the last mistress had a child?
“Uh, um…”
She didn’t know what to say. The good news was that Ms. Rogoso didn’t seem to know what to say. She said while drinking tea in silence.
“It seems like a lie, doesn’t it?”
“Hmm.”
She thought so too. But even if just by chance it was true. Her mind became confused. If it was true that Baron Kerrnell’s mistress was pregnant, then the Baroness would be an obstacle for Baron Kernell and his mistress. But would that really mean he would kill his wife?
“Well.”
After Miss Rogoso left, she met up with Elliot and talked to him. Elliot said she heard her guess and she said it was nonsense. She just stroked her chin with a serious expression on her face.
“If that were the case, would there be no reason for Baron Kernell to harm the Baroness?”
What? She didn’t understand Elliot’s question and her eyes widened.
“There are so many reasons to harm, right? The other woman is pregnant with her longed-for successor, right?”
“Yes.”
Elliot nodded at her, adjusting her posture. However? When she gave him a look telling him to keep talking, he frowned lightly. And then she sighed and said:
“What’s important to Baron Kernell is his heir, not his mistress or his wife, right?”
She guessed the frown just now wasn’t because she didn’t understand, but because she didn’t like Baron Kernell. He frowned again and continued with an expression that said he didn’t like the idea of talking like this.
“Wouldn’t it be easier if you took her child away and let the Baroness raise it?”
Elliot’s answer was more shocking than she thought. She blinked for a moment, not knowing what he was saying, and then I realized what he was saying and then her mouth dropped open.
“Easier?”
“Yes. That’s more…”
Elliot, who said that, seemed to have seen her expression in his eyes. He sighed and closed his mouth. The car he thought was so great suddenly felt terrible. She put down the teacup and a look of guilt appeared on Elliot’s face.
“Sorry.”
She knew. She held her hands together and looked down at the table. The leftover cake was visible to her. Not long after she arrived, a servant brought it. Perhaps because it was made in a hurry, the cake was topped with boiled peaches. She liked peaches. Because it smelled good and was sweet. Peach pie, peach cake, peach jam. She liked them all. And Elliot knew it.
“In your dreams.”
As her mind calmed down, she became curious. When she opened her mouth, Elliot silently nodded her head as a sign that she was listening. She asked, choosing as many words as she could.
“Did Baron Kernel have any children?”
Elliot’s gaze felt as if it was piercing me. He stared at me and then raised his teacup. And he spat out.
“No.”
“What about Baroness Kernell? Was she alive?”
The next answer came a little later. She held her breath, afraid she wouldn’t hear Elliot’s answer. For a moment, a wrinkle appeared between his eyebrows. She guessed she didn’t remember. Elliot frowned at her as she glared at a point and then he said.
“No.”
An indescribable emotion arose. She stared blankly at Elliot drinking tea. It was like her dream. Baroness Kernell was unconscious and she and Baron Kernell had no children. The difference is that his wife was not dead and there was a possibility that his mistress was pregnant with the Baron’s child. Then it suddenly occurred to her that the Baroness had made a strange suggestion to Elliot. She asked, leaning out towards him.
“Didn’t she tell you earlier that the Baroness had proposed dating you for just a year?”
Elliot sighed deeply. He seems to be thinking the same thing as her.
‘Oh my god.’
She suddenly felt tired. She leaned against the back of the sofa. What if Baroness Kernell was a dreamer like Elliot, Lauren or Lord Lannon? What if she thought she would be murdered within a year? She must have tried to change her own life somehow. Like Lauren or Lord Lannon. She thought of people who were called crazy again. Lady Devon, Lauren and Lord Lannon. and Baroness Kernell. Although they were people who had nothing in common, the first three had one thing in common: they had a dream. And she tried to change the life she saw in her dream.
“Do you think it was a precognitive dream?”
She asked with a sigh. Lauren said everything went the same way. And for now, the same goes for Baroness Kernell.
“No.”
Elliot’s answer came out much faster than before. He put down the teacup and spoke again.
“If that is a precognitive dream, this country should become a sea of fire.”
She had a doubt. She asked, looking straight at Elliot.
“But you went looking for the dragon. We prevented the country from becoming a sea of fire.”
It makes sense if he knew where the dragon’s nest was in his dream, and if he knew the dragon’s weakness. Elliot’s saving the country itself means that his and other people’s dreams are precognitive dreams. The shock wasn’t as big as she thought. Maybe it was because she had a premonition that it would happen. That was a precognitive dream. She sighed, thinking of Lauren and Lady Devon, and Lord Lannon and Baroness Kernell. They had precognitive dreams. And she was about to change her life. When she thought about it, the person whose life has changed the most was probably her. Because in the precognitive dream, she said she was a king. Then she has Elliot to thank. Thanks to him, her family survived. And she was able to live a normal life. Then naturally a question arose. Why Elliot? And why Lady Devon and Lauren and Lord Lannon? What was the difference between people who have precognitive dreams and people who did not?
“I will tell you to watch Baron Kernel.”
It was when she was thinking about the difference between people who had precognitive dreams and people who did not. Elliot said, raising his teacup again. What? When she looked up, he took a sip of his tea and added:
“Because Baroness Kernell must have been somehow involved in what happened to Baroness Kernell.”
She nodded. If it was her Baroness Kernel who made her like that, then the amount of her Logo Sovereignty that was nursing her could also be in danger.
“I’m sorry.”
When it occurred to her that Rogo Soyang could also be dangerous, it occurred to her that just watching Baron Kernel might not be enough. She opened her mouth to ask if she could take a look at Ms. Rogoso. But before she could say anything, Elliot put down his teacup and said.
“You don’t have to be sorry. Because everything I have exists for you.”
Even if the words were meant to reassure her, they were very kind words. He straightened his posture and continued while she blushed in embarrassment.
“I will ask Ms. Rogoso to keep an eye on her.”
“Thank you.”
She greeted him by placing her palm on her cheek to calm her red face. Elliot actually had a calm expression.
