Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 21.3

“What does Turner Street say?”

In response to Lisa’s question, Erica spoke with a heavy expression.

“Let’s postpone the wedding for a while. There was talk of doing it at the end of this year… .”

Erica bit her lip as she spoke that far. She looks like she’s about to cry. From a young age, she wanted to marry a nobleman. She always envied her great-grandmother, the Baroness. This is because Erica’s mother, Mrs. Logoso, always compared herself to her eldest mother and lamented. Even if the same party was held, the attendance list for the party held by Baroness Rogoso and the party held by Madame Rogoso are different. Attending parties is not only to have fun, but it is also primarily to manage one’s network. The more influential people throw a party, and the more influential people are known to attend, the more attendees there are.

“I do not understand. Her sister is a Baroness. Maybe she shouldn’t have held back?”

Eugenie lost her words as Erica cried. She thinks Baroness Kernell is amazing for what she’s endured so far. And it was the same for Lisa. When the two said nothing, Erica raised her head. She knew too. How her sister was upset because of her Baron.

“I mean, I could have taken a lover after I got married. Or at least don’t start a rumor.”

You started a rumor? It wasn’t a rumor? The same question appeared in Eugenie and Lisa’s minds. It was Lisa who was more patient. She asked, leaning her body towards Erica.

“You started a rumor?”

“Yes! That’s a rumor from her sister. I don’t know what you’re thinking?”

It’s just that she didn’t create the government, she even created a rumor that she created the government. Although many nobles have mistresses, having a mistress and being rumored to have one are two different things. Lisa and Eugenie’s gaze collided again. What on earth is going on? The two got up to see off Erica, who was helplessly standing up, saying that they had to go back now.

“Come again next time. It doesn’t matter if you don’t swim.”

Hearing Eugenie’s words, Erica got into her carriage with a helpless smile. Lisa waved her hand at her and as her carriage drove away she spoke to Eugenie.

“Is it revenge?”

“Baroness Kernell?”

She endured the Baron’s affair for several years. So, you may have been thinking of giving it a try yourself. But was that really the case? The Rogoso family was similar to the Kernel family in terms of family name alone. However, Imelda and Erica’s father was a wealthy relative without a title, and the Rogoso family is wealthy, not Erica’s father. Even though the father was a nobleman, his daughters Erika and Imelda are just Miss Logoso. In comparison, the Kernel family was quite wealthy, and Imelda’s husband is Baron Kernel. In other words, it meant that the child she gives birth to Imelda will be the future Baron Kernel.

That was, if she gives birth to a son.

Eugenie thought that Erica had a point. That is why many noble wives get married and make sure to give birth to an heir. Not only will her position be solidified, but she won’t be bothered by unnecessary rumors. But Imelda chose against her. Was it really out of revenge?

“When people get angry, what they can see disappears.”

Lisa shrugged her shoulders and said that to Eugenie’s words. Last time, she was angry and scolded because of her fiancé’s rude behavior. She went so far as to say that if she behaved like that one more time, he would never see her face. Maybe so. Eugenie went back into the boat with Lisa.

* * *

“Baron Biscon?”

Scott Moore found Oliver wandering near the practice field and approached him. What is this guy doing here? Sometimes children who envy knights wander around here. But training is difficult. Most people stop coming after seeing it once or twice. So this is the third time Oliver has been hanging around the practice range.

“Did you suddenly want to become a knight?”

Scott stood next to Oliver and laughed like that. Oliver heard that he learned swordplay from the leader of the Black Wolf Knights. The reason is simple. Because Sir Escalee was a relative. When he was young, Scott was very jealous of that. He was a talentless bastard learning the sword from a genius like Sir Escalee. If he had been taught swordsmanship by Lord Escalee as a child, he would have joined the Order of the Black Wolf by now. Of course, that’s just Scott’s opinion. Unfortunately, Sir Esma, the leader of the White Lion Knights, did not think so.

“What is the article?”

Oliver said, shaking his hand at Scott’s words. He has no intention of becoming a knight. When he was young, he briefly wanted to become a knight. Isn’t he what every boy from a noble family dreams of?

He wants to become a knight. And he becomes a knight-errant. This was even more so since Oliver was a relative of Sir Escale, the leader of the Black Wolf Knights, who was said to be the most powerful man in the country. And that dream was shattered the day I started learning swordplay from Sir Escalee.

He will never become a knight or something. After running five laps around the park, Oliver nauseated himself and promised himself that he had to start with physical training. He won’t go near the Templars. Despite his promise, he is now wandering around the Knights’ training grounds.

“I’m just passing by.”

Scott snorted at Oliver’s words. This is a bit further inside the royal palace. This means that you have to go around the building quite a bit to get through here.

“If you’re going to lie, why don’t you be sincere?”

“You’re lying. It’s really a passing road. Is there any road as quiet as this one? It’s just right to think about.”

If Eugenie had heard, she would have widened her eyes and exclaimed, ‘Your brother is thinking?’ But Scott is the only one here. Scott asked, frowning his eyebrows.

“Walking while thinking about this place?”

“I was walking thinking about what I could do for this country.”

What nonsense, you guy. An expression similar to Eugenie’s appeared on Scott’s face. What does this guy or that guy look at me for? When Oliver made an unpleasant expression, Scott quickly managed his expression.

“By the way, are you coming to the Snyder Mansion this time?”

Like Scott, Oliver was also invited to the ball held at the Snyder mansion. To be exact, everyone in Viscon was invited. Oliver said, shaking his head.

“I’m not sure.”

“Why? Lady Snyder is infatuated with you.”

A topic that bothered Oliver came up. He paused, but then smiled and said as if it was no big deal.

“Isn’t there one or two girls who are in love with me?”

The two people burst into laughter. Baron Oliver Biscon. Before the rise of Count Burns, he was a handsome man who was considered one of the most prominent figures in society. There is even a saying that if the Biscon family had been a little more financially well-off than they are now, Oliver would have already been engaged by the age of five. Of course, there were those who thought otherwise. Even though he comes from a family that doesn’t have a lot of money, he’s still showing off her face just because of that face. If he had more money, he wouldn’t have gotten engaged.

Scott said, thinking it might be the latter.

“Then are you going?”

“Uh, um. what.”

That was when Oliver answered vaguely. In his eyes, he saw an apprentice knight carrying a large basket from the side of the building. Naturally, Oliver’s eyes turned to Claire, who was training on one side. I guess it was intermission time. All the knights who were training stopped their actions and began to approach the apprentice knight.

But Claire stayed.

“Have a snack!”

The apprentice knight shouted to alert the other knights who were away, but it seemed as if Claire couldn’t hear him. Oliver, who saw her quietly concentrating on training, opened her mouth.

“Lord Moore.”

Scott, who had been yelling at his colleague to get his share of the snack, turned his head. Today’s snack is bread with a large piece of ham on it. Scott was dominated by the thought that he should send Oliver away and quickly go eat.

“What? If you call me, say something.”

Although Scott was slightly annoyed, Oliver checked on Claire until the end. I don’t eat. It was like that last time too. The Knights’ timetable is quite strict, so the last time Oliver came, it was also during break time. The snack served at that time was fried chicken. Fried chicken as a snack would make Countess Biscon freak out because it’s too heavy, but it’s a fairly common snack among knights. From work to training, you have to eat this much. But even then, Claire didn’t eat. Neither she nor her apprentice knight advised her to eat. She recommended it to all the other knights.

“No, that person.”

Oliver, who was about to say Lord Lannon, looked at Scott’s gaze and changed his words. He waited until Scott recognized Claire and then he asked.

“You’re not eating snacks?”

“What? What is it, Biscon? You see everything?”

Scott’s face distorted slightly. He never thought anyone would notice that. Because not many people come here to see it. He hesitated for a moment about what to say, then said honestly.

“Some people don’t like her being here.”

He knew that. Oliver was about to say that you were too.

“More than you?”

At Oliver’s question, Scott narrowed his eyes and then chuckled. Yes. There are guys she hates more than him.

“I am a gentleman.”

“You’re laughing.”

Oliver laughed at it as if it made no sense, but Scott wasn’t angry. The two play a card game together. You can’t be a gentleman even on the game board.

“Well, I just hate it, but let me just say that there are people who are actively trying to get that woman out of here.”

“Actively? You can’t kick them out, right?”

There are cases where you get kicked out for causing trouble. However, to a certain extent, they are not kicked out. A crime has to be committed. And Oliver couldn’t believe that Lord Lannon would commit a crime just because someone told him to. How on earth are you going to kick them out? Scott clicked his tongue and said to the confused man.

“There’s no need to kick them out. Just let them go out on their own feet.”

“Would you like to go out on your own?”

“I have to go out. I’ll leave when I know there’s absolutely nothing to be gained from it.”

Oliver’s eyes turned to Claire again. Before he knew it, she had left her position and was heading somewhere.

“That means you can’t even get snacks.”

“Something I brought from home.”

Scott recently saw that someone had damaged Lord Lannon’s bag. He muttered, remembering Sir Lannon who didn’t react even after seeing his broken bag.

“It was strong.”
