Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 19.2

“What’s wrong? By any chance, no.”

It might hurt. In that case, asking Oliver here was a waste of time. He would have to take the doctor to Biscon Manor. Oliver sighed as he saw Elliot turning around thinking that. This was a situation he should be happy about, but he feel a little bad. Count Burns was always like this. Among the people gathered today, everyone who had a sister who was still single was anxious to talk to Elliot. But the only object of Elliot’s interest was Oliver’s younger sister, Eugenie. If he was this popular, it would make sense for him to go out for tea or see a show with other women, but he had never heard of Count Burns being with another woman. Certainly, as Eugenie’s older brother, that’s something to be proud of. The problem was that Count Burns’ attitude did not discriminate between men and women and children of all ages. The only woman that Elliot was interested in was Eugenie, as if she was the only human being. No, as if Eugenie was the only one among all living things. Oliver thought such a foolish thought and hurriedly ran to catch Elliot, who had gone far away.

“Wait, wait, Count Burns.”

“What is it?”

Oliver was offended by the clear warning that he should not be disturbed, but he persisted and asked.

“Are you planning on marrying Eugenie?”

At Oliver’s stupid question, Elliot stopped and glared at him. Then he frowned and asked.

“Did you bring up her name to ask that?”

Eugenie was not sick or in trouble? In response to Elliot’s question, Oliver nodded his head. Elliot sighed at his expression asking why he would bring up Eugenie’s name then. He was originally this kind of person. He never helped him at a critical moment. He hated Oliver so much that he once said so. Elliot stretched the rest of his slumped shoulders. He almost dragged all the doctors in the capital with him and went to Biscon Manor.

“Wait, where are you going?”

Oliver asked, catching Elliot who was ignoring him and turning away. Was he going to marry Eugenie? Count Burns seemed interested in Eugenie. Expressing that as if he seemed interested would be an insult to the word interest.

“Where Lady Biscon wishes.”

Elliot said simply, shaking away Oliver’s hand from him as he grabbed his own arm. Of course he intended to get married. Unlike before, he couldn’t even think about it.

“Uh, wait a minute. So what if Eugenie doesn’t want to?”

Surprisingly, Oliver picked out the most important part and asked. He said he intended to marry Eugenie if she wanted. So, if Eugenie didn’t want him, he wouldn’t marry.

“Because it’s her life. She should go where she wants to go.”

Oliver frowned at Elliot’s neat words. He thought he liked Eugenie, didn’t he? But he didn’t seem to be interested in any other women other than Eugenie.

“I’m serious?”

Elliot didn’t say anything to Oliver’s question. What was most important to him was what Eugenie wanted, what made her happy. She was what he wanted. He was also sincere in saying that he would not marry Eugenie if she did not want to. Of course, he just had to make her want to.

“Oh really. Because you’re a weird guy.”

Oliver grumbled, running his hand through his hair as Elliot walked away. He didn’t know what that guy was thinking. He turned around and started walking in the opposite direction of him, not wanting to follow Elliot. And only after walking for a while did he realize that he was in the wrong place.

“Oh, shit.”

He should have followed Elliot’s path. Where on earth was this? Oliver, who was walking along the wall, stopped when he saw an open space at the end of the wall. He still didn’t know where he was. It may be a royal palace, but the royal palace was spacious. Moreover, if this was a place where outsiders were prohibited from entering, he may feel embarrassed.

“Stop!”

At that time, a man’s voice was heard from not far away. Surprised, Oliver turned his head towards the sound and squinted his eyes as he spotted a group of men. It’s a familiar outfit. Wearing a light shirt and leather protective gear, it looked like they were training in swordsmanship. Only after looking there did Oliver realize that this was the knights’ training ground. In that case, they would be either the Black Wolf Knights or the White Lion Knights. If Oliver had gone after them and asked them if it was a black wolf or a white lion, they would have been angry. Because it was the White Lion Knights. Fortunately, Oliver was able to find out without asking that they were the White Lion Knights. This was because among the people was a man who he had played card games with a few times.

“Lord Moore.”

Great. When Oliver spotted someone he knew, he approached him and greeted him warmly. He should ask the way out of here. Scott Moore was taken aback for a moment when he saw his unexpected face. Why was this guy here? he wondered, approaching Oliver.

“Baron Biscon. what’s the matter?”

Could it be that he didn’t pay off the debt he owed from the last game? His mind spun quickly. Fortunately, before he could bring up the topic of debt, Oliver spoke first.

“I was invited to dinner today, so I came here and took a quick look around.”

Only then did Scott remember the news that the royal palace was inviting unmarried men with titles to a meal today. Ah, that. Knights were also invited because they had titles. However, to attend, half of the knights would have to skip training. Even those who were working have to miss work. So, the knights decided to receive meals on two separate occasions. Scott asked with a grin.

“Oh, that. We’re leaving in two days. I heard you had been eating with His Majesty the King, right?”

“Hmm. We had a meal together.”

Thanks to this, those sitting near the King finished their meal without even realizing that the food was going up their noses. Huh, really? Scott unconsciously rubbed his chin and said.

“If I do well, I might be able to become a Black Wolf.”

This meant that he wanted to impress the king and become a knight of the king’s order. Oliver was about to ask if he was still thinking about that when the younger man brought two cups on a tray and said to Scott:

“Lord Moore, tea.”

He’s as tall as Scott and Oliver, but his voice doesn’t seem to have changed yet. Oliver looked at the man’s face and saw that he was still a boy.

“Apprentice?”

The Knights Templar accepts and trains talented children as apprentice knights from an early age. They are usually children of nobles who do not have a title to inherit, like Lord Moore.

“I heard you were taking an entrance exam.”

Scott nodded his head in response to Oliver’s question. Of course, you take the entrance exam. In front of His Majesty the King and the Queen. If you fail the test, you must leave the Order. Of course, this rarely happens. In addition, there are irregular entrance exams. This is because if a knight has an accident while on duty or is lucky enough to inherit the title and territory from a distant relative, the position becomes vacant.

“Well, that’s Lord Lannon’s.”

As Scott naturally picked up the two cups Lingard brought, Lingard spoke cautiously. what? Scott said, rolling his eyes.

“Whatever. Do I even have to think about her car?”

“Oh, no.”

As Lingard retreated in her haste, Oliver unconsciously asked:

“Lord Lannon?”

“What about Lord Lannon?”

“Hmph,” Scott snorted. He got annoyed just thinking about that girl. Why did she make such a fuss about joining the Knights?

“Why? What’s going on?”

Oliver was intrigued by Scott’s attitude, which seemed to displease Claire, and asked. He also didn’t like Claire. She’s a sassy girl. She humiliated him in front of Eugenie. He should really say something the next time he sees her. He thought so, Scott said.

“Ah, existence itself is work. She muddies the waters by coming in and saying what kind of knight she will be?”

“Why? Are your skills not good?”

Scott’s mouth fell silent when asked if his skills were not good. That’s not it. He was told that, as it was, he was going towards the black wolf. However, Sir Escalee, the leader of the Black Wolves, did not allow it, but Sir Esma, the foolish leader of the White Lion Knights, accepted it.

“Oh, it’s not that bad. No, I think they did it because they were all women and let their guard down.”

He didn’t know what that meant. Oliver asked in confusion.

“You took the entrance exam?”

He understood it’s a competition between two knight commanders. There was no way Lord Escalee would have seen it. Oliver was trained in swordsmanship by Lord Escalee at an early age. He was treated so harshly that he still dreams of that time sometimes.

“Oh, no. That’s not it…”

Oliver was impressed by Scott’s voice becoming quieter. What’s the problem? When he didn’t understand, Scott started grumbling.

“Oh, I’m a little annoyed. Are you saying that even the jokes we used to make between us have to be judged because of that woman? Can you imagine having to train all dressed up this summer?”

“Well.” said Oliver awkwardly. To be honest, I don’t know what Scott is talking about. Basically, a joke is only a joke if no one who hears it feels bad. A gentleman must dress neatly wherever he goes.

This was even a royal palace. If knights in the royal palace were to take off their clothes under the pretext of being hot, it would certainly be said that the discipline of the knights had become lax.

“Is that why Lord Lannon doesn’t like her?”

“Hey, it’s not that simple? You have to experience it too. How chilly it is. Isn’t it good to laugh softly?”

Lord Lannon was definitely a bit cold. No, it’s not that she was cold, it’s closer to being rude.

“Besides, the black kids look at us funny because of that woman.”

The Black Boys were a nickname reserved for the White Lion Knights who call themselves the Black Wolf Knights. Of course, in Black Wolf, the White Lion Knights were called the White Boys.

“Why are you looking at me funny?”

“Why? We picked up what the centipede said he wouldn’t accept. Oh, are we a trash can?”

That must feel bad. Oliver, who was moderately accepting his friend’s whining, caught Claire’s gaze in the distance. Shit. Oliver unconsciously avoided his eyes.
