Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 17.3

Lady Devon’s husband, Lord Voltigor, killed their sons. He committed treason and killed them, so perhaps Sir Voltigor died too. Or he chose death. Then all that remained was Lady Devon. She also committed treason and if she were king she would want to punish her. If the punishment was to kill a two-year-old child, Lady Devon’s dream would be just a dream.

“Then…”

Again Lady Devon broke down. No, she was relieved. She fell to her floor and started crying again. She hoped this helps her find some peace of mind. As she sighed, Elliot’s servant came over.

“The Countess of Devon has arrived.”

It seemed that word had now reached her that Lady Devon was on Elliot’s ship. Elliot looked at her as if asking her permission and she shrugged and turned away. Now she knew why she attacked her. She was curious as to why she attacked her, a person she barely knew.

“How…”

Lord Lannon asked as they walked away from Lady Devon’s cabin. What’s wrong? She was about to ask what that meant when she saw the Countess of Devon running in with her servants from the other side.

“Milli!”

It seemed like she didn’t see her or Lord Lannon in her eyes. Her passage was so narrow that there was nowhere to escape her and her servants. At that time, Elliot was right next to her and she opened the cabin door and she pulled me in. In the nick of time, Lord Lannon also managed to jump into the cabin they had entered, so the Countess of Devon and her servants were able to run straight to the cabin where Millie was. No one asked for their understanding, but we said nothing. Because she understood how distraught the Countess of Devon and her servants must have been.

“How did you know?”

Lord Lannon asked again as we were the only three men in the cabin. She was guessing he was asking about what happened with Lady Devon just a moment ago. She looked at Elliot and saw that his face was expressionless. It occurred to her that he was a person whose thoughts she could not tell. Especially after experiencing the same thing just now.

“I don’t know if you’re talking about a dream.”

She said as she sat down on the small bed in the cabin. Then Elliot closed the cabin door. Oh, by the way, she was still covered in a blanket. It’s a good thing that the Countess of Devon and her servants didn’t see this.

“Then how, no, why did you say that…”

She knew. Why did he say that? She sat on the bed and thought for a moment. It was just sad.

“Even if it was a dream, it was reality to Lady Devon.”

So, she must be confusing reality and dreams. She looked at Lord Lannon and Elliot and signaled them to sit down. Since they were both tall, the narrow cabin feels even more cramped. Oh, of course, it would be a bit of an insult to say that Elliot was too tall. Unfortunately, neither of them sat down. Sir Lannon leaned against the door, and Elliot leaned crookedly against the wall opposite her.

‘People, please sit down.’ she sighed and continued.

“It seems to me that Lady Devon killed her husband for killing her son, but she seemed more guilty that her daughter died because of her.”

“So you lied?”

She nodded to Sir Lannon’s question.

‘So I lied. What’s wrong with that? It’s a dream anyway.’

“No one will be harmed by my lying. If you’re lucky, Lady Devon will calm down, or… ”

It’ll be the same. In the end, it was a gamble with nothing to lose.

“Well then, how come you lied and said you stole Lady Devon’s daughter?”

In response to Lord Lannon’s next question, she shrugged her shoulders and said,

“Because I would have done that.”

Sir Lannon looked like he didn’t understand what she was saying. She spoke after checking Elliot’s expression, which she couldn’t tell what he was thinking.

“I heard that she is only two years old. There is no crime.”

It would be a sin for her to have parents who committed treason, but that would be too harsh.

“If I were king, what would be the benefit of killing a two-year-old child? It is enough to tell the parents that their child died because of your sins.”

Was this a bit cruel? It seemed cruel. But that’s punishment. Punishment must be cruel. And it was best to exclude personal feelings. Wouldn’t it be better for three people to die than for four people to die?

“Then what about the child? What would they have done?”

Elliot finally opened his mouth. She looked up at him and sighed. Wow, her neck hurts.

“They would have been raised by childless parents. He doesn’t tell you what kind of kid he is.”

“Why?”

Wasn’t it obvious? She tilted her head.

“My family was executed for treason. Well, my brother was murdered by his father. I don’t think that fact will help her in life.”

Elliot sighed deeply. She asked after seeing him return to his expressionless face again.

“How is it? Did I do that to you in your dream?”

She heard Lord Lannon take a deep breath. Of course, Elliot said nothing. She turned to Lord Lannon. And then she asked again.

“Were you my knight?”

If she were a king, she would have a bodyguard. It’s usually the Black Wolf Knights. Lord Lannon wanted to join the Order of the Black Wolf, but he was told that Lord Escala’s opposition led him to join the Order of the White Lion. That meant that in the dream, Sir Escale did not oppose Sir Lannon’s joining. And the most likely possibility that Sir Escale would not object would be if he were dead or not in the Order. It’s a terrible dream. The fact that I became king means that all the people above me who could have become king have died. Mother, father, and even Oliver. The death of the royal family means that Lord Escalee has also died. The Lord Escale I know is a man who does not run away from those he has to protect.

“No.”

Lord Lannon opened his mouth. She got down on one knee in front of me. She said as she held my hand.

“No, Your Majesty. I was your companion.”

“Oh.”

Of course she thought it was a knight. Because he was overprotective of her the first time he saw her. So she guessed her knight was Elliot. She said he was overprotective of her too. She turned her head to Elliot. Then he shook his head and said:

“As for whether it was your knight, no. I was not your knight.”

Then she didn’t understand. Elliot said, “If she wasn’t even my knight, why on earth is she being so nice to me?”

At that moment, a quite plausible reason occurred to her. It was when she looked at Elliot that a thought flashed in her head. He suddenly straightened up and she said:

“It’s almost time for Baron Viscon’s game to begin. It would be a good idea to go up and have a look.”

To her surprise, Elliot was avoiding talking to her. She looked at Lord Lannon, but she just shrugged her shoulders too.

“Eugenie! Welcome!”

When they went up to the deck, the game was going on again, just as Elliot said. She made an arrangement with Lord Lannon that she should stop before she rushed to the gunwale.

“Please come. To my house.”

A smile appeared on Lord Lannon’s face. She spoke to her kindly.

“I’ll come see you. Lady Biscon.”

She remembered that she had called her to tell her earlier. It’s just a dream. But it was as real to Lord Lannon as it was to Millie.

Oliver’s skills were amazing. To be precise, the skills of him and his players were great. However, there was a greater team, so the win went to that team. Unfortunately, Oliver, who came in for the second time, was seen unable to control his anger and threw his oar on the floor.

“I need to go see Oliver.”

Her mother said to her when she saw Oliver getting frustrated. She wanted to go too, but she was still covered in a blanket. Her clothes arrived from home while she was watching Oliver play, but she had no time to wear them.

“See you at home, Mom.”

She kissed her mother’s cheek and said, Lauren and Julia decided to come home with her. She went down to the cabin to change and stopped when she saw two people sitting on the edge of the pool.

“What are you doing?”

“It’s a shame.”

What? She tilted her head. Those two people came out earlier to dip their feet in the river. Lauren saw her expression and smiled.

“Swimming. Julia said she didn’t know how to do it.”

“Do you know how to do it?”

‘You know how to swim?’ she asked in surprise. Then Lauren said with a troubled expression.

“Yes. In that dream…”

“Is that possible?”

Could what she learned in her dreams be used in real life? She thought it would be similar to flying in the sky in a dream.

“I’m curious too. Is it possible?”

Was it possible? Before she knew it, she looked at Elliot who was standing next to her. He caught her gaze and spoke calmly.

“You can use the swimming pool as much as you want.”

As soon as they received permission, Lauren and Julia went down to the cabin to change clothes. At the very least, you should take off your outer clothes.

“How about you?” asked Elliot, who had ordered the servants to go downstairs to the cabin for Julia and Lauren. It’s already evening. It was fortunate that it was summer and the days were long.

She asked while watching the sky turning scarlet.

“What?”

“Are you still a little scared to go into the water?”

Was she scared? A reflexive feeling of resistance arose, but I succeeded in suppressing it. She was not scared. It was a very short time, and Elliot quickly saved her.

“It’s the opposite.”

She figured it out after falling into the water. How dangerous is swimming in the water? She asked Elliot what that meant.

“I think it would be better if I learned how to swim.”

A smile appeared on Elliot’s face at my answer. He held out his hand to her and tilted his head.

“I can help you.”

“Now? Here?”

“Is there a better time and place than here?”
