Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 17.1

“My arm is fine. What is your body temperature? Do you have any clothes to change into?”

Fortunately, a doctor was around to ensure safety. The young doctor checked her condition and asked her mother. She was told to change her clothes to keep her body temperature from dropping, but unfortunately all she brought was a blanket. Her mother sighed with relief when she heard that her arm was okay.

“I sent someone to fetch it.”

It would take some time. She should have brought clothes. She thought she would get a little wet, but she didn’t expect to fall into the river at all. Suddenly, she thought of the swimming pool on this ship. Anyway, she was so wet, couldn’t she go into the swimming pool? But if she said that, she would probably see her mother’s dumbfounded expression.

“If it’s okay, may I give you my clothes?”

At that time, Elliot asked outside the door. Was she still standing there? Her mother was surprised for a moment by Elliot’s suggestion, and then she looked at me. Then Elliot spoke again, as if he knew why they hesitated.

“I have a new shirt.”

It seems that her mother’s heart was shaken when she heard that she was not wearing anything. She asked quickly.

“Can I borrow your pants?”

For a split second, Elliot said nothing. Was it a bit rude to ask to borrow her pants? She thought so, he said.

“There’s a new one too. You can wear it if you want.”

“I will be grateful, Count Burns.”

In response to her mother’s greeting, Elliot is heard ordering her servant to bring her his clothes. And after a while, I realized what he meant by if you want.

“Eugenie, are you okay?”

“What are you wearing?”

Lauren and Julia asked as she went out onto the deck, wearing only Elliot’s shirt and a blanket over it. Can you see it? I checked to see if my bare legs were visible under the blanket. I thought you couldn’t see it because it was wrapped so tightly?

“Yes, it’s okay. The pants were too big.”

She said that and looked at Elliot. Now she understood why she hesitated when asked if she could also borrow pants. His shirt alone became a dress when she wore it. Of course, her mother was shocked because her calves were clearly exposed.

“The Count was also looking for pants?”

She wrinkled her nose at Julia’s question. Those pants were too big to wear. While she was folding the hem, it became heavy so she took it off. The folded part was heavier than her foot. A smile bloomed on Julia’s face when she saw her expression. she asked, giggling.

“It’s too big?”

“Ugh, don’t say it.”

She didn’t know how embarrassed she felt when she asked to borrow it and returned it, saying, ‘This is too big for me to wear.’ She asked Lauren and Julia as she approached the gunwale.

“How was the game?”

They saw Oliver get through the preliminaries earlier, so this time it will be the finals. Fortunately, she didn’t miss anything, Lauren shrugged her shoulders.

“It’s break time. I heard someone fell into the water and took a short break.”

“Ugh.”

It seems like it was postponed because of me. I turned around, holding her head. Then her mother spoke as if she had been waiting.

“I know. Let’s stay below.”

“Then you will be eating well-cooked Eugenie meat for dinner tonight?”

The shame of public attention burns so brightly that I’m sure I’ll become a well-cooked meat.

“Eugenie!”

“Eugenie!”

I raised my head when I heard two voices calling me. One was the expected mother’s voice, but the other was a voice that should not be here.

“Oliver?”

It’s really Oliver, right? Before I knew it, Oliver had boarded Elliot’s boat and was approaching me with a scary appearance. Huh. I quickly checked to make sure the blanket was covering my body properly.

“I heard someone fell into the river? Surely it’s not you? you you…”

Only after he got closer did he seem to notice my wet hair and tightly wrapped blanket. Oliver’s eyes widened and he grabbed my shoulder and asked,

“Where are you hurt? No, what kind of bastard are you? What kind of dog… .”

“Oliver.”

I quickly called Oliver and stopped him from making a big mistake in front of his mother. Fortunately, Oliver seemed to notice that not only my mother, but also Lauren and Julia were standing next to me with curious expressions on their faces.

“You.”

But Oliver’s anger did not subside. He turned his anger towards Elliot next to her.

“You should have taken good care of Eugenie!”

“Oliver!”

Are you crazy? She was startled and stood between Oliver and Elliot.

“That’s not his duty!”

“It’s his duty! Because he’s your suitor!”

“What are you talking about?”

He was saying nonsense. Just as she was about to get angry, Lord Lannon stepped in between her and Oliver. He said, pushing Oliver away with the palm of his hand.

“Don’t pass the buck, Count Biscon.”

Oliver looked embarrassed. She didn’t know if it was because he called him Count or because someone he didn’t know intervened. As he frowned and stepped away, Lord Lannon spoke coldly.

“You are Lady Biscon’s brother. The person here who needs to protect her more than anyone else is you.”

“I-I’m in the middle of a game…”

“You always make excuses like that. Shamelessly.”

Always? She blinked in surprise at how Lord Lannon acted like he knew Oliver so well. No, he didn’t know much, he just looked at her like a bitter enemy.

“Do you know, no, who do you know?”

It seemed like Oliver was also seeing Lord Lannon for the first time. He tried to ask her if she knew him, but then he asked her directly. Then Lord Lannon spoke coldly.

“This is Lady Biscon’s knight, Claire Lannon.”

“Yes?”

“What?”

The same sound came out of Oliver’s mouth and hers. Who said whose what? Oliver looked at her like he was asking if it was real and she just gaped and shook her head at him. A knight? Her knight? Wait a moment. She suddenly felt strange and looked at Elliot to see that he was shaking his head.

“Do you know anything?”

She sneakily approached Elliot and whispered to him. He looked down at her and reached out his hand to pull his blanket off. Well, what was he doing? He spoke softly to her as she reflexively grabbed the blanket tightly.

“It would be better to cover your head as well. Because it’s wet.”

Yes, but it’s so frustrating. When she shook her head, Elliot smiled slightly and stepped behind her.

“I saw that you were okay, so I guess I’ll just go and check it out.”

It was only when she said that Oliver would have to go back that she realized that Elliot had avoided her answer.

“I heard the game was postponed?”

“Now that I have time, I should practice more.”

Oliver said, frowned, and placed his hand on my forehead. It looks like they are checking to see if there was a fever. She said, slightly avoiding Oliver’s hand.

“Go quickly. I have no fever and no injuries.”

She also had work to do. She wondered what happened to Lady Devon and Lord Voltigor.

“Is Lady Devon with the Countess Devon?”

After Oliver disembarked, she asked Lord Lannon. She was still looking at Oliver’s back with hostile eyes. She didn’t know why she hated Oliver so much.

“No. Here it is.”

Sir Lannon straightened her posture and answered my question. Was he here? When she made a face asking what she meant, she spoke again.

“Lord Voltigor told us to separate, so Lady Devon was brought to this ship.”

What? You brought me here? why? I looked at Lord Lannon with her mouth agape and asked.

“Have you told the Countess of Devon?”

“I sent someone.”

But the Countess hasn’t come to get Lady Devon yet? Why? She was confused, but soon realized the reason. She went to check on Duke Germarot’s ship. No one from the Germarot duchy came. They must have sent someone all the way to the Duke’s house to get permission to board. She will have boarded after receiving permission, so the Countess will still be on her ship.

“Oh my god.”

She touched her forehead and sighed. Suddenly she remembered what Lady Devon had said to her. She told her to save her daughter. In a dream, she heard that her son was killed by her husband, Lord Voltigor.

“Where are you now?”

For a split second, Lord Lannon looked like he was wondering what that meant. But she quickly turned around and said:

“This way.”

“It’s not possible.”

It was Elliot who stopped Sir Lannon from guiding him. He said, extending his arm between me and Lord Lannon. As if he was trying to keep me and Lord Lannon apart.

“No?”

She asked Elliot’s unexpected objection. Dreamers she met recently. Lady Devon’s actions. And Elliot, who was overprotective of her. She felt strange. Elliot knew something. Things that happened to her. Strange things she said and did to her.

“It’s dangerous.”

Elliot held up her palm towards Lord Lannon as if to tell him to get off, she said. Lady Devon? Of course it would be dangerous. Because she’s crazy. But Lord Lannon brought her here. If Millie was truly in danger, would she have allowed Elliot to keep her trapped on this ship?

“It’s fine. I’m going with Lord Lannon.”

She said as she approached Sir Lannon. Then Elliot’s face distorted.
