Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 16.5

Lady Devon never got married, let alone had a daughter. But she had an expression on her face that made her believe that she was already married and that she had a daughter. The moment Eugenie came face to face with Millie’s distorted face, she realized that she was truly filled with anger. And she thought maybe she really was crazy.

“Majesty!”

The moment her body slid down, a familiar woman appeared behind Lady Devon. She immediately grabbed Milly by the scruff of her neck, but she realized it was already too late.

Because her body just slipped.

“Eugenie!”

Very slowly, she saw the woman pulling Lady Devon towards me and Elliot extending his hand to me. And in the next moment, her eyes became dark. She didn’t know if there was actually a ‘plopping’ sound. Her body sank into the water, and she heard people screaming intermittently. Her fingertips became cold. She was struggling, not knowing what to do. She regretted that she should have learned swimming, but it was already too late. And then, someone caught her.

“Eugenie, please breathe.”

A familiar voice penetrated her ears. She reflexively hugged Elliot’s neck.

“It’s fine.”

She slowly felt Elliot’s hand stroking her back. Only then did she realize that the water was cold. When my frozen fingertips touched Elliot’s hot body temperature, she felt again how cold the water was.

“Are you okay?”

As they headed to the boat, the man asked. He looks worried. This was only the second time they had met and she was very worried about her.

“Lord Lannon.”

She remember. She held his outstretched hand. Thanks to Elliot who helped her up from below, she was able to get on the boat easier than she thought.

“Blanket! Bring a blanket!”

“Who, Viscount Voltigor…”

The area around the ship was noisy. It seems like people gathered around to see me fall into the water. It looked like she would have to give up on being the main character of rumors this season. She headed to the boat, hugging the blanket that Lord Lannon had forced on her. Elliot hasn’t come up yet.

“Someone help me here…”

That’s when she told Elliot to help her come up. Her hand shot up and touched the gunwale. At the same time, Lord Lannon pulled me towards him. n an instant, Elliot’s upper body rose.

‘Oh my god.’

She saw Elliot shooting out of the water and onto the boat, and her mouth dropped open. Was this what the mermaids she saw only in fairy tale books when she was young looked like?

“Are you okay?”

Even though Elliot was dripping water, she came up to me and asked. He lifted her hand and pushed her hair back, as if the water was blurring his vision. Then, with her free hand, she pulled the blanket I was covered with and wrapped it around my head.

“Eugenie, are you okay?”

Only after he asked again did she come to her senses. She felt strange. Her fingertips were tingling. She looked blankly at Elliot, then realized he was also staring at her, and reflexively lowered her head.

“Eugenie?”

“Gwae, it’s okay.”

Weird. She couldn’t look at Elliot directly. At that time, his cold hand touched her forehead.

“Omg.”

It’s a surprise. Even his eyes were covered by Elliot’s hand. Thanks to this, she couldn’t tell what expressions Elliot and Lord Lannon were talking about.

“Do you have a fever?”

“Not yet.”

“‘Not yet’…”

She was about to protest and ask what that meant, but Elliot removed his hand from her forehead and said,

“I’ll take you to a safer place.”

“I beg your pardon?”

It’s safe enough here. Except that there were people crowded both on and off the rocking ship. Before she could understand what he was saying, Elliot picked her up.

‘Oh, please.’

“Are you hurt a lot?”

“Who are you?”

People were wondering who she was and what her condition was, so she quickly turned his head away and buried her face in Elliot’s chest. The preface of an article in the Balcian Daily that will be published tomorrow came to mind. Dangerous water play! In the end, careless victims are created!

‘I’m going to turn away.’

“Where are we going?”

Judging by the shaking of his body, it seemed like Elliot had started to move. Lord Lannon’s voice was heard not far away. What? Neither of them could follow her! She forced her head up and looked behind her at Lord Lannon. Naturally, Lady Devon and Lord Voltigor were the only ones left on the ship.

“You can’t leave those two together!”

Lady Devon hated Lord Voltigor and Lord Voltigor tried to kick her. Perhaps the latter was expressing anger at someone attacking him, but in any case, the two should not be together. Lord Lannon was taken aback for a moment, and then she immediately turned to face Lord Voltigor and Lady Devon. I followed her words, trying to look at Elliot.

“And then I contacted the Earl of Devon and Viscount Baltigor…”

“Count Burns? What’s going on? Wait, that woman… .”

Ouch. She just covered my face with her hands and turned her head. She was going to die of embarrassment. As if falling into the water wasn’t enough, she was carried around by someone like a baby. After a while, Elliot started laughing softly. Of course, she didn’t hear any sound. Because she was covered in a blanket. She turned her head and glared at Elliot. Then, as if he had never done anything like that before, he made a fool of her and spoke.

“Do you have any pain?”

“I think I made it clear.”

Elliot’s eyebrows rose. When the expression on his face asked me what I said, I gritted my teeth and said.

“I hope you don’t carry me around like a piece of luggage.”

“How dare I carry you like a piece of luggage?”

What? The moment she opened her mouth, her mother, Julia, and Lauren found her and came running.

“Oh my god, Eugenie!”

“What happen?”

“Are you okay?”

It’s so embarrassing. Her mother was absolutely terrified. Of course! She was so wet and wrapped in a blanket that she was carried to Elliot like a piece of luggage!

“Bring the stove.”

Elliot instructed as he carried me into the cabin, but to be honest, she didn’t need a stove. She was burning with shame.

“Eugenie, what happened? Is your arm okay?”

‘Oh, arms.’

She forgot. She pulled her arm out of the blanket to show her mother that the arm that had been injured some time ago was unharmed in the accident. She swear to God, it was really hard. She was soaking wet and the blanket was not only wrapped around her, it had absorbed the water and stuck to her.

“I’ll call a doctor.”

“Count Burns.”

Elliot said that and was about to leave the cabin, so she called out to him as Lady Biscon as she could. To be honest, she didn’t think it would work. But as soon as she called Elliot, he stood tall, turned around, came in front of her, and got down on one knee.

“Yes, Lady Biscon.”

‘Oh my god.’

She lifted her hands to cover her face and sighed deeply. She had never felt so ashamed in her life. She fell into the river, got soaked, and not only was she wrapped in a blanket, but Elliot picked her up and carried her away. But, putting all that shame aside, she had something to say to Elliot.

“Thank you.”

She said that and raised her head. She feel her face getting red. But Elliot saved her. So she had to say thank him.

“You saved my life. Twice in that short period of time. “Thank you, Elliot.”

When Lord Voltigor tried to kick Lady Devon, he almost hurt me. By subduing Lord Voltigor, Elliot not only saved Lady Devon, but also her. And you know the second thing without her having to say it. Elliot’s eyes softened. He took her hand out from the blanket, kissed the back of it, and said,

“I know.”

Damn it. Why was this man so proud? She looked at Elliot who got up from his seat and said she was going to get the doctor again and she sighed. They were equally soaked, but while one side looked like a rat caught in the rain, the other side looked like a very handsome mermaid. Or a super sexy water fairy.

“That guy looks handsome no matter what he’s wearing.”

As soon as Elliot got out of her cabin, she almost jumped out of her chair because her mother said that. She thought her mother read her thoughts.

“Oh, mother, do you think Count Burns is handsome?”

Her mother glanced at her as if she was puzzled by her question. And as she tried to remove the blanket from around her body, she said:

“Why do you think I married your father?”

That’s right. As Julia said, if she was so blessed that she didn’t know how to be thankful, it’s probably her mother’s fault. Oliver looked just like her father’s portrait as a young man. Although her father’s side is slightly slimmer.

‘Shit.’ Her thoughts keep turning to how handsome Oliver was. She shook her head and stood up to make it easier for her mother to remove the blanket.

“Is your arm okay?”

Perhaps because the bandages were removed this morning, her mother continued to worry about her arm. It’s really okay. She said the doctor told her she didn’t need to wear a bandage anymore. Of course she said to be careful of shocks. But this arm has hit no place other than water. She once again waved her arms for her mother and her mother sighed and kissed her forehead.
