“You are here.”
Elliot walked up to her, ignored the driver, and spoke to her. Did he really find her? At that time, the night shouted at Elliot.
“What are you doing! Why are you leaving this person alone?”
Wow. She was startled by the knight’s sudden attitude and stopped. Elliot then turned to the knight, tilted his head and asked.
“Do you know me?”
A puzzled expression appeared on the knight’s face. She pursed her lips and then looked at her, just as she had done to her. And bit her lip.
“No, no. I was rude.”
What a strange person, was not it? She remembered what he called her. The noble Lady Biscon. Even if the title was a mistake, she knew her last name. It means she knew her.
“This is Eugenie Biscon. Not the Noble Lady, but Lady Biscon.”
She said, holding out her hand to the knight. And she quickly looked at Elliot’s face. He was looking at her and the knight without any change in expression. She didn’t think they would get anything from Elliot’s facial expression change. The knight spoke with her face turning red, perhaps from shame or embarrassment.
“Excuse me, sir. This is Claire Lannon.”
Wasn’t Lannon a male knight? She checked her outfit again. If she was the daughter of a noble, she should be called Lady Lannon. Just as the title of the count’s daughter was Lady Biscon, each nobleman’s daughter has a designated title. Daughters of princesses and Dukes were given the title Lady, and daughters of Marquesses and counts were given the title Lady before their last name. Daughters of viscounts and barons were given the title of daughter after their last name. In all other cases, a sheep was added after the last name.
“Nice to meet you, Lady Lannon.”
A disappointed expression appeared on Claire’s face. She opened her mouth again and asked.
“Or would it be better to call you Lord Lannon?”
Then Claire’s expression changed. She looked at her with a slightly surprised expression, then smiled and said.
“I like Lord Lannon.”
Lady Lannon was higher than Lord Lannon. Because she was higher up a baron than a knight. Basically, people were called by their highest title. For example, since Oliver has not yet inherited a title from his father, he should be addressed as Lord Biscon, but he was addressed as Baron Biscon, which was one of his father’s titles. But in the end, etiquette was what makes interactions between people smoother. It was correct to call the other person by the title they wanted to be called.
“Okay, Lord Lannon.”
She held out my hand to Claire. And when she took her hand in hers, she suddenly asked:
“Did you dream too?”
She felt the atmosphere hardening. She reflexively looked at Elliot. But he just looked at her and Claire with an expressionless face.
“What are you talking about…”
The moment Claire stuttered, she heard someone calling her from afar. Then Claire quickly let go of my hand, said hello, and left.
“S-sorry.”
It’s a waste. She felt sad as she looked at Claire’s back running towards her colleague. She was curious about whether the dreams of people who had recently had them were really the same. A dream where she emerged as a king. It’s a ridiculous dream, but there were three people who had such a dream.
“Let’s go. I will take you home.”
There was still no change in Elliot’s expression. It’s really hard to read this man’s thoughts by his facial expressions. A thought suddenly occurred to her. But why did she think he smiled easily?
“Why noble lady?”
She asked suddenly. She was curious about that. Gilder did that. She was the king. If so, it should be Her Highness Biscon, not the noble Lady Biscon. Elliot asked, tilting his head.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You called me Noble Lady when we first met.”
A smile appeared on Elliot’s face. He looked at me blankly and said.
“I didn’t know you remembered.”
How could she forget? It was such a shocking appearance. Perhaps the scene where Elliot appeared at the palace would be something she talked about even when she grow old.
“I called you that a few more times after that.”
She pointed out. She was not the noble Lady Biscon, she was just Lady Biscon. Elliot said without any trace of shame.
“Because I didn’t know.”
“Are you saying it was just because you didn’t know the name?”
“Yes.”
It’s a lie. To her surprise, she knew he was lying. There was no change in expression or attitude. She just, she just knew. But there was no evidence that it was a lie.
“Shall we go?”
Elliot suggested again. When he was offered to take her in his carriage, she thought he might refuse, but he decided against it. Let’s not act like children. She thanked him and walked with him toward his carriage.
“Miss.”
As soon as Elliot’s carriage arrived in front of the house, the butler came running out from inside the house, huh? She had never seen Vixx so embarrassed. He spoke quickly to her as she was just getting off the carriage.
“Viscountess Rencid has arrived.”
Awning’s mother? She was so startled that she lost her footing. Fortunately, Elliot was quick to grab her body.
“Thank you.”
Elliot dropped me off outside the carriage with an expression on his face that said it was nothing. Good strength. She thought to herself as he removed his hands from her body as soon as her feet touched the ground.
“Are you here to see me?”
It was clear that he came because of the breakup of his engagement with Awning. She heard that the Viscountess had already sent a letter of strong protest to her mother yesterday. She didn’t say what it was about, but judging by her mother’s expression, it must have been quite harsh.
“Yes. But Madam is talking. She said there was no need for you to come in.”
So she would be told to come in quietly and go up to this floor quietly. But she was worried. She was so nervous that she took off her shoes and quietly headed to the living room.
“If the engagement is broken off without any reason, shouldn’t we at least pay compensation?”
Viscountess Rensid’s voice could be heard all the way down the hallway. The maids snooping around in the hallway were startled when they saw her and dispersed. No, you weren’t surprised to see me, but you were surprised to see Elliot? Before she knew it, he was following her. She didn’t even know he was following her. She saw Elliot even wearing her shoes and her eyes widened. How did this man walk so quietly? Elliot looked down at her and raised one eyebrow as if asking why. Ugh, come to think of it, she forgot to tell him to stop. Well, originally she was going to serve at least a cup of tea. He carried her home from the palace, so she should. She opened her mouth to tell him to stop. But then Elliot lifted his finger and she put it to her lips, pretending to tell her to be quiet. Why was he doing this? It was a bit absurd, but it wasn’t wrong, so she turned around.
“Sonia, when you talk about compensation, do you mean that you will judge the right and wrong?”
When the word compensation came out of her mother’s mouth, she felt bitter. She knew that her engagement with Awning was a promise between their families, but what about compensation? She felt like it’s completely business talk. But before she had time to be offended by that, Elliot whispered into her ear.
“I believe Viscountess Rencid’s name is Sonia?”
It’s mom. She was startled by her voice reaching her ears. She was startled and turned her head away from him.
“Uh, yes. That’s right.”
Viscountess Sonia Rensid. That was Viscountess Rencid’s name. Elliot nodded her head as if she understood her answer, and she straightened her posture again. But she couldn’t do that. Oh my god. It seemed like Elliot’s voice that she heard in her ear still remains. She tried not to lift her hand and touch her ear. Then she turned her attention again to the conversation between his mother and Viscountess Rencid.
“I don’t know what Awning did wrong. Isn’t it natural for a fiancé to expect fidelity from the other person?”
Oh my god. Her heart started beating like crazy. Viscountess Rensid was complaining to her mother that she had cheated on Awning. She tried not to look back. If Elliot, who was accused of cheating on her, was behind her, it would be wise for her not to look back.
“That’s right, Sonia. I believe that any fiancé would not spread rumors that would tarnish his reputation.”
Her mother’s ensuing attack silenced Viscountess Rensid for a moment. But soon she spoke again.
“Do people really think that’s a rumor?”
“It’s a rumor. Eugenie has never done anything that would be embarrassing in the eyes of others.”
She was taken aback by her mother’s faith in her. She didn’t know she trusted her that much. To be honest, she was very opposed to her admission to the academy, so she thought she didn’t trust her. She was so moved that she bit her lip to keep from crying. Then Elliot whispered.
“You have a good mother.”
Yes. She turned to Elliot and smiled. She felt his hand wrapping around mine. She felt warmer. It’s not that it wasn’t, it was really warm thanks to Elliot standing behind her as if covering her. She turned her head again and peered inside through the slightly open door of the living room.
“There is a saying that death is better than divorce.”
Her mother responded to Viscountess Rensid’s words.
“You are mistaken, Sonia. We didn’t argue, we broke off the engagement.”
Viscountess Rencid said nothing for a while. After some time, her cold voice was heard again.
“You know better which side suffers more in something like this. Awning will find another woman without any problem, but Eugenie is different.”
“Are you threatening me?”
The Viscountess said nothing to her mother’s words. What kind of expression was it? It was not visible from here. But she saw her putting down her teacup. And she heard the sound of a teacup hitting the table.
“You won’t regret it, will you? It will be difficult for your daughter to find a suitable marriage partner.”
