Obsessed with Regressors

CHAPTER 14.4

Julia didn’t seem to have thought of it. “Ah,” she said, letting out her moan and nodding her head.

“Maybe it will help those who are injured.”

“Even older people.”

Anyone can get hurt and will surely get old. People who own a whole building can move their bedrooms to the first floor, but people who live in shared housing like this will need it. She thought that maybe it would be better to install this elevator in the mansion in the manor. Her mother didn’t think she’ll move her bedroom to the first floor when she gets older. Will this cost a lot to install? With that thought in mind, she knocked on the door.

“Who is it?”

The door opened and a young man showed his face. Even though he wasn’t dry, he had a face that somehow felt meager. She said, holding out the business card that she had taken out earlier.

“I’m Eugenie Biscon.”

The man hesitated when he heard her name. Then he took the business card and asked curiously.

“Noble Lady Biscon?”

There were a lot of people who misunderstand names these days. ‘Lady Biscon’ would be correct, but ‘Noble Lady Biscon’ was not. She quickly corrected it.

“No. This is Lady Biscon. I was supposed to meet Mr. Gilder.”

“Lady Biscon? Are you saying you’re not noble Lady Biscon?”

The man’s expression turned strange. She thought he must be a servant and explained calmly.

“I’m Lady Biscon because my father is the Count of Biscon.”

“Uh…”

It’s a look that didn’t understand well. If her father was Count Biscon or Baron Biscon, then you should call her Lady Biscon. Women were given different titles depending on their father’s title. If you’re not a noble, you might be confused. She judged once again that the man was a servant. Although he was dressed quite nicely for a servant. The servant in this house seems to be well paid. She saw the gold thread embroidery laid on the cravat that the man was manning. If he was paid that much, she thought he should do a better job than this.

“Is Mr. Guilder out of town?”

The man who looked at her business card and her at her question suddenly held out his chest. He said to her, who was puzzled, not knowing why he was sticking out his chest.

“I am Guilder. Come in.”

“Are you Mr. Guilder? Mr. Ronnie Gilder?”

Gilder nodded and opened his door wide. Was this guy the genius? He wrote famous music as well as plays and novels. Of course, she knew that geniuses didn’t wear the word genius on their foreheads. However, Gilder looked rather ordinary to be a genius. No, let’s correct it. He looked more like a peacock than a genius. As she entered his house, she checked his clothes once again. A padded jacket on his shoulders and cravats lavishly embroidered with gold thread. The trousers were of the latest fashion and fitted perfectly up to the thighs.

“Oh, the maid will wait outside.”

Julia was about to come inside, but Gilder interrupted her and said so, what surprised Eugenie. She widened her eyes in surprise at his rudeness. It was the same with Julia.

“She is my cousin.”

She quickly intervened between Guilder and Julia and said. Then Gilder coughed and said.

“Ah, I thought it was the Lady’s maid.”

“It’s not a maid outfit.”

Not only was Julia not in her maid outfit, but her hair was also down. That said, the outfit itself wasn’t that different from hers. She didn’t know what else to see in her to call her her maid. She looked at Gilder with a strange expression. Then he coughed again and said.

“Please, excuse me, since I don’t go out often.”

It’s nonsense. It’s not like he had never been outside since he was born. She put on a disapproving look, but said nothing.

“For someone who doesn’t go out, he is dressed like a peacock.”

Julia whispered to her as I went inside following Guilder’s guidance again. All human eyes were the same shape. Seeing Guilder walking with his chest out, reminded her of a peacock.

Gilder’s house was more splendid than expected. To be honest, she had no idea what his alternative tastes were. Paintings and sculptures were mixed regardless of the era, and the tea cups he presented did not match. She looked down at the ornate gold-rimmed teacup and thought that Gilder really liked gold.

“The Count of Biscon?”

She raised her head at Gilder’s question. She wrote that in her letter. It’s Eugenie of the Count of Biscon.

“I guess you haven’t heard of the Biscons.”

The Biscon family was a family with a long history. Although not wealthy, in aristocratic society, a family with a long history was more highly regarded than a wealthy one. That’s why Awning was more likable as her husband than Elliot. She didn’t know how wealthy the Burns family was, but the Rencid family was a rich and historic family. Maybe Gilder hadn’t heard of the Count of Biscon. He was not even a noble, so he didn’t need to know about aristocratic families.

“No, no. I heard it. Whatever, what did you come for anyway?”

Julia whispered, avoiding Guilder’s ear when he hurriedly said no.

“I guess you haven’t heard.”

She almost laughed. She bit her lip once and took out the book she had brought from her bosom.

“I really enjoyed reading it. Can I get your autograph?”

She thought he was worried about why she came. His face lit up at the request for an autograph. Well, since a noble he didn’t know suddenly wanted to meet him, he must have been nervous. It’s understandable if his behavior just before was because he was nervous. She was a little sorry, so she said to him that she had a good time reading it. And she spelled out her name for him to sign.

“You mean the noble, no, Lady Biscon enjoyed reading my book?”

“Yes. I don’t usually read novels like this. The reason why monsters appear is because the dream is disturbed.”

It’s a lie. She read horror novels pretty well. On the contrary, her mother thought it was so terrible that she scolded her not to read horror novels anywhere. However, feeling sorry for Gilder, she lied a little.

“However, the author’s book is not disturbing and interesting. It is also very interesting.”

“Is it so?”

Gilder looked pretty happy now. He asked excitedly as he put a large ornate sign on her book.

“Which part did you find most interesting?”

Which part? She said calmly.

“It’s a very interesting story about a woman who lost her family to a monster and goes on a monster hunt for revenge. What did you think of this story?”

“Haha.”

A smile crept across Gilder’s face. He returned the book to her and looked at Julia.

“Do you want my signature too?”

“No, I don’t need it.”

Julia pouted, probably because he had mistaken her for a maid a moment ago. But Gilder, who was in a good mood, stood up from his seat and said,

“Oh, if you haven’t read it, I’ll give you a book.”

“Phil…”

Julia tried to tell her she didn’t need it, so she quickly poked her in the side. There was no need to break the mood by doing so. Instead she whispered to her.

“It’s a little strange.”

“What?”

After confirming that Gilder had entered her, she spoke to Julia in a low voice.

“Didn’t I tell you that a woman who lost her family to a monster went on a monster hunt for revenge?”

“Uh, yes.”

Julia’s expression asked what was wrong with that. She wondered if she was being too sensitive.

“The novel I read was about losing a friend, not a family member, to a monster and going on a monster hunt.”

“I guess he didn’t hear you right.”

“Who is that person?”

“Friends and family.”

Julia shrugged her shoulders and replied with a disinterested look. It seems that there were still remnants of being treated as a maid earlier. She said again.

“And the gender of the main character. That person wrote the male lead.”

Only then did Julia’s expression change slightly. She asked, tilting her head.

“I see. You said it was a woman earlier, right?”

Could he even confuse the gender of his main character? She asked because she couldn’t understand.

“Did he write a lot of books?”

She was wondering if there were too many and she was confused. But as she tried to answer, Julia’s expression hardened. The next moment, she jumped up from her seat and dodged. She didn’t know why. She just got goosebumps.

Puck!

And something hit the spot where she was sitting. Julia, who jumped up late, would have hurt her if she hadn’t moved behind her.

“Julia!”

She tried to approach Julia, but Guilder intervened first. He asked, swinging the long statuette she was holding and separating it from her and Julia.

“How did know?”

He didn’t know how she knew. She turned her gaze to Julia to see if she was all right. But at that moment, Guilder swung the statue again.

“How did you know! You witch!”

Oh my god. It looks crazy. She narrowly avoided his attack and ducked behind the sofa. Julia was also sneakily moving to get away from Guilder. He had to run away. She asked to catch Gilder’s gaze towards her.

“What do you mean? I know nothing.”

Of course, saying this, Gilder suddenly put down the statue and said, ‘Oh, that was a mistake. Sorry. You can stop.’ She didn’t think it would be like this. However, Gilder hesitated. He stared blankly at her while holding the statue, then his eyes began to shine again. She quickly backed away. Then the statue Gilder was holding passed past the space where she was.

“Don’t lie! I saw you with that bitch!”
