Obsessed with Regressors

Sigh! A moan came out of her mouth unconsciously. She didn’t expect Elliot to come out of Julia’s mouth. As she grabbed her hair, she added with a laugh.

“Oh, of course you exclude Oliver, right?”

Where the hell did she learn to make fun of people? As she glared at her, Julia said as if making excuses.

“There are only three men who can be said to be close to Eugenie.”

Originally, it was just Awning and Oliver, but Elliot intervened.

“The person Eugenie seems to like the most is Oliver.”

She glanced at her again at Julia’s reply. Oliver was her older brother. Sometimes she wanted to kill him, but fundamentally they were family. Julia saw her expression and giggled, then she spoke again.

“To be honest, I don’t think it is either.”

“Both?”

“Awning with Count Burns. Eugenie doesn’t seem to care for any of them.”

“That…”

Not very good. Awning was her fiancé. Wasn’t it okay if she didn’t seem to care? But she couldn’t help it. They got engaged because they thought they fit into each other’s family and would be okay in moderation, not because they were in a burning relationship. Wasn’t everyone like that?

She sighed. And she asked Julia again.

“You mean I don’t look like I have feelings for anyone other than Awning?”

Julia hesitated. Why was she hesitating? To her bewilderment she opened her mouth.

“There are times when I think that if it wasn’t for Eugenie, Count Burns would have passed on.”

“If not me?”

She didn’t know what that meant. Julia stared at her, then she sighed and muttered:

“You don’t know.”

“What?”

She leaned over and put her arm on her lap and said.

“I won’t talk.”

“What?”

“I think it’s better not to know.”

What better not to know? Julia asked as her curiosity was about to explode.

“Would you like to know that another man likes you while you are engaged?”

Was Elliot so obvious? She stared blankly at Julia and said.

“I am not.”

Even if someone liked her, she would rather not know, because it made her feel uncomfortable. But she did know one thing from Julia’s words. She thought Elliott was interested in her. He made that impression. Well, she didn’t even have to ask Julia about that. Because sometimes she thought that too. But Elliot, he never said it directly, and she thought it wise to pretend she didn’t know. Emotions wear out quickly anyway. She thought it’s better to let it flow as if she didn’t know if it’s an emotion she couldn’t accept. But Elliot didn’t seem to think so.

“But why are you asking that?”

Julia asked, her eyes twinkling. She said, letting go of her pretense.

“I’m just afraid that people will misunderstand me because I seem to be getting closer to Count Burns these days.”

Now Julia was wearing a look of disappointment. There’s nothing more fun than someone else’s love story. She said as she lifted the plate of the remaining pie again.

“Ah, I think Count Burns would be better than Awning.”

“Julia!”

She didn’t know why everyone was talking like that. She quickly alerted Julia. It’s not like that. Julia shrugged her shoulders with a questioning expression, and she shook her head and lifted the teacup.

“I have somewhere to go.”

After making sure Julia finished her tea and pie, she put down the teacup and said, There was some left on her plate, but her appetite still hasn’t returned. Ugh, Elliot. Why did he do that? The thought of seeing him at Oliver’s rowing competition made her sick. But the conversation with Julia and the delicious pie made her feel better.

“Where are you going?”

“To meet the author.”

“The writer?”

Julia’s eyes widened. She wondered if Julia had read the book too? She asked just in case, but she shook her head and said.

“I didn’t see it. I heard it’s in the academy library.”

She had heard that the academy had a large library. She once envied Oliver when he said that she kept all kinds of books. Of course, Oliver didn’t even know what books were in the library.

“To meet the author.”

“That writer is very famous. Did you meet him, Eugenie?”

“Is he famous?”

He wrote a popular novel, so he must be famous. But was it difficult to meet? To my surprise, Julia nodded her head and said,

“A Genius, a genius. Among the things this person has made, there are music and plays. It’s a play I’ve seen before. Is that also made by this person?”

Uh, really? She remembered the play Julia wanted to see. It was a bit cruel, so Sir Escalee wouldn’t allow it. Wait, she saw that with Elliot. Shit. Elliot, who she had barely managed to get out of her head, occupied her head again as if it had never happened before. She shook her head to drive him away, then stopped when she heard Julia’s question why.

“No. I sent you a letter to visit.”

The back story was that she decided to meet with the writer. Wait, should she say he was a genius, not a writer? He produced music and plays as well as novels?

“I guess there are people who are loved by fairies.”

“I want to go with you,” said Julia, who climbed into her carriage. Fairy love? She bit her lip and asked.

“For the better? On the bad side?”

She knew the story of a person who was loved by a fairy, but that love became poison. It came from a book she read as a child. At her question, Julia frowned.

“Of course, that is a good thing. How many talents can one person have?”

She had only heard three things. She knew. Having a lot of talent was something to envy.

“Someone has none and some have many, I think it’s so unfair.”

It was. She thought blankly as she felt the carriage start. it’s a talent she hadn’t even thought about that. Talent wasn’t that important to them. She would marry Awning and become Viscountess Rencid. At least that’s what she thought until a few months ago. Even if she broke off her engagement with Awning, she would marry someone and become a noblewoman. What did her talent mean there? Wasn’t that the same for Julia?

“Do you need talent?”

“Looking at Lauren, I must have needed it.”

“Huh?”

Lauren? Why Lauren? As she put on a puzzled expression, Julia explained.

“You bought a ton of plaid. It’s popular.”

It did. She provided the funds needed to buy the cloth. Oliver’s disapproval of Lauren’s behavior was understandable. Her brother must think that Lauren was doing something stupid with the money she gave her.

“However?”

“She doesn’t really have the talent for making clothes.”

She didn’t know what that meant. When she put on a puzzled expression, Julia explained again.

“Lauren doesn’t have much manual dexterity. Even during her embroidery time, I did it for her.”

“Oh.”

She understood what she meant. It seemed that she couldn’t make clothes because she didn’t have dexterity with her hands. Even if she made clothes for a small dressing room now, Lauren would have to make them from now on. However, as she learned, it seemed that she did not have any young talent.

“So you can do a dressing room?”

She didn’t say anything at Julia’s sighing words. Julia was right. Regardless of your talent, if you want to run a clothing store, you should at least know how to make clothes. And you need an eye to see which design suits each person’s body type and skin color. It meant that Lauren was lacking in the most basic things right now.

“Seeing that made my thoughts a bit complicated.”

Julia added quickly, as if she felt she had been gossiping about Lauren too much. Her thoughts were complicated, why? She looked up and Julia wrinkled her nose.

“It means that even if you find something you want to do, you may not have the talent. I don’t even know what I want to do now.”

“What do you want to do?”

She asked in bewilderment. What did she want to do? Julia, of course, knew that she would marry a nobleman. It’s what her father wanted, and Julia enjoyed going to the ball with her. But she guessed it wasn’t. Julia saw her embarrassed and pursed her lips, she said.

“I know. That my father and Eugenie want me to marry a good man.”

“Wait, wait.”

Suddenly she felt dizzy. She had a headache and touched her forehead. She thought Julia wanted to marry a nobleman too?

“Didn’t you want to get married into a good family?”

She knew that, of course. Because she wanted to attend the prom. But she guessed it wasn’t. Julia wrinkled her nose and said.

“Well, it should be nice if you get married into a good family.”

“I asked you to take me to the prom.”

“Dancing is fun, right?”

Nor for Eugenie. Oh my god. She sighed, realizing that she had made a huge misunderstanding all this time. She didn’t like prom very much. Shoes hurted and clothes were heavy. It was also uncomfortable for men she wasn’t very close with to ask her to dance. She didn’t like being in touch with them, and seeing them disappointed when she refused made her feel uncomfortable.
