Obsessed with Regressors

Well, that made sense to some extent. Elliot was so big that it feels a little scary to those who see it for the first time. When she first saw him, she thought he was a bit scary. If one didn’t know Elliot well, he might still look scary. But she didn’t expect his men to be scared either.

“But his personality is sweet.”

At her words, Rosie made a strange expression this time. She looked at David and saw that he had the same expression as Rosie. Rather, Anne was nodding her head at her words.

“You’re talking about Captain Burns right now, right?”

As David said, Rosie poked him in the side and said,

“Uh, um, well, some people might feel that way.”

Maybe the two of them were Elliot’s subordinates. If it was a relationship between a boss and a subordinate, it must be difficult for the subordinate. She nodded her head, recalling the story of a nobleman who was reputed to be kind to his servants. Suddenly, she felt the wagon slow down. It looked like they were almost there. She looked out the window once and asked Rosie.

“I guess Count Burns is busy?”

“Oh, yes. He’s a bit busy.”

Rosie said that and looked at David as if she wanted him to agree with her. He had just become a nobleman, so he would have many people to meet and many things to deal with.

“Did you two go into Daaribhorn’s lair with the Count?”

Then, Anne asked. That’s what Eugenie was curious about. And because she was also curious, she looked at the two without saying a word. Then Rosie grinned proudly.

“Yes. Actually, I’m only saying this now, but I was told that I was going to the dragon’s nest, so I wondered what this was about.”

“Still, you came to recruit people to find the nest. I was really serious when the captain suddenly said he was going to see the dragon.”

When David said he was contemplating whether to leave Elliot, she burst out laughing. But she guessed it wasn’t a joke.

She asked Rosie, who shook her head.

“So, didn’t you find where Daaribhorn’s nest was together?”

She asked if Rosie had joined so late, and the answer came from David.

“Oh, yes. Suddenly one day, yes. Captain Burns gathered the kids and said, ‘I’m going to see the dragon, but those who want to drop out can skip it’.”

What? This was kind of surprising. The carriage stopped, but she didn’t even think about leaving.

“Then, who has been looking for Daaribhorn’s nest? Could it be that Count Burns found it alone?”

“Uh, we don’t know either.”

“We even talked about how he knew. Maybe he heard it somewhere before?”

Uh, so they didn’t even know how Elliot found Daaribhorn’s nest? How the hell did he find out? She thought it was strange, but Anne asked.

“How is the dragon’s nest? Were there real gems piled up like mountains? Did you really fight a dragon?”

“I didn’t fight the dragon. I fought against the dragon’s minions.”

“Minions?”

Did dragons have subordinates? She was puzzled and asked Rosie.

“To be precise, it is not a subordinate. There are many monsters near the dragon’s nest.”

She had heard that story before. Dragons had powerful power, and that powerful power was felt by some races as an irresistible charm. So, he said that where dragons lived, there were more monsters than you could imagine. That’s also why it’s harder to get into Dragon’s Lair.

“But did you see the dragon? What does Daaribhorn look like? Some say he has red scales, others say he has golden scales.”

Ann asked again. David said with a slightly exaggerated expression.

“Did you only see the dragon? I’ve seen great things. Oh my God, some stupid noble has a dragon’s egg…”

At that moment, Rosie punched David. It was an act that prevented David from speaking.

“We have already arrived. I will help you.”

Rosie, who cut off the conversation abruptly, quickly changed the subject and stood up. What’s the story? She took Rosie’s hand as she recalled David’s story. He said ‘some stupid nobleman got a dragon egg’. Did he find a dragon egg? Finding a dragon’s egg means that the dragon laid an egg.

“Oh my God, Lady Biscon.”

Rachel jumped out of the building at the same time she got off the carriage. The building she came out of was similar to the one where Rachel used to live in a fire. The door was not in the middle of the building, but on one side, and the windows were small and numerous. And in each of those windows, women were watching them with their heads sticking out.

“Thank you so much for your help.”

“Yes?”

She hadn’t done anything. She was about to ask what that meant, but Rachel said it again.

“Those are the people Lady Biscon sent, right? Thanks to you, I live.”

It seemed she was referring to Rosie and David. To be precise, it was Elliot who sent the two. She just asked Elliot.

She said frankly.

“The person who sent someone with skills is Count Burns. So it is he who should be thanked.”

A smile appeared on Rachel’s face. She leaned over and whispered to her as if she were telling a secret.

“I also thanked the Count. But he said he wouldn’t have moved if it wasn’t for Lady Biscon’s request.”

Elliot said that? She didn’t know whether to be surprised or thank Elliot, so she shut her mouth. Rachel smiled and said she must have misunderstood her attitude.

“I think he thinks very much about my lady.”

Rachel said as if Elliot was Eugenie’s lover. She quickly opened her mouth to clear up her misunderstanding.

“Just call me Eugenie. And Count Burns is a kind man.”

Then Rachel’s eyes widened. She looked at her with a hesitant expression on what to say, then she asked.

“Is that okay?”

“Sure. Is there anything you can’t do? And here.”

Lady Biscon was a title given to people she was not very familiar with. And she wanted to get to know Rachel. She really liked the manuscript she wrote. Rachel’s eyes widened again as she took her stack of manuscripts from her bosom and held them out. She said as she accepted her own manuscript.

“They’re all right!”

“We found them under the bed.”

“That’s right. Who found it?”

It’s Elliot. She smiled and said, glad that her words that he was a kind man gave strength.

“Count Burns. He said he would find something precious and give it all.”

“Is it so?”

Rachel looked surprised. Why was she so surprised? Wasn’t she asking Elliot?

“Oh, look at my mind.”

But before she could ask why she was surprised, Rachel quickly ushered them inside the building. The people who were watching them before they knew it had gone inside. She followed Rachel up the tall, narrow stairs as she guided her. It’s pretty high here.

“Please sit here.”

Rachel said as they finally climbed the stairs and entered one of the many doors in the long hallway. It seemed that all the houses of the working class had this structure. Narrow and high stairs, multiple doors in a long hallway. Each door was a house. Still, this house was slightly larger than Rachel’s original house, which burned down. They even had separate bedrooms.

She sat down at her table, as Rachel suggested. There was also a desk here. There was a small desk. And that’s the only thing in front of the window that got sunlight.

“Sit down for you two.”

“I am fine.”

Rosie said that and stood in front of the door. It looks like David didn’t come in. Maybe he didn’t come up at all, I thought. Sometimes when I go down to the manor, I hire mercenaries for security, and the mercenaries were like that at that time. One or two stood guard some distance away.

“Sorry. There is nothing to treat.”

As Anne sat down in her chair, Rachel rummaged through her cupboard and apologized.

“It’s fine. Even if you don’t, you’re suffering from a fire, but I didn’t come here to get something to eat.”

She just came to return the manuscript. And she wanted to ask if Rachel was okay. But Rachel’s heart wasn’t like that, so she pulled out her cup from her gear and dipped something in the hot water to get it. What was this? Eugenie was curious, but words of thaks came first.

“I’ll have a good drink. Thank you.”

Was it a flower? After taking a sip of the tea, she peered into the cup. Something seems dry. And when she looked up, Anna and Rachel were looking at her.

“It is delicious.”

Both seemed to be concerned about whether the tea would suit her taste. But she was not a sensitive person. She tended to eat pretty much anything.

Rachel smiled at her words. She saw Anna sipping her tea and asked Rachel.

“That manuscript. You wrote it, right?”

If it wasn’t written by Rachel, that would be even more surprising. Sure enough, Rachel asked, blushing.

“Look, did you see it?”

“Sorry for watching without permission.”

“No, it’s okay.”

It was fun. She hesitated to say that. Could she say it was fun? Fortunately, Rachel asked cautiously, as if putting an end to her worries.

“Oh, how was it?”
