Obsessed with Regressors

“Yes.”

‘Uh, I didn’t expect you to answer me right away.’

Elliott twitched his lips and smiled at Oliver, who was rather taken aback. And he asked with a twisted laugh.

“Can’t I?”

It could happen. Especially when Awning was so disappointing like these days. But as soon as he thought that, Oliver had a reason not to. He said, making the best impression.

“No. In case you didn’t know…”

“If you’re just trying to let me know Lady Biscon is already engaged, I already know.”

He knew. Elliot let out a sigh of annoyance. He was acting like he’s mad that he couldn’t tell him. Especially Eugenie.

“Okay.”

Oliver saw Elliot’s reaction and let his expression loose. And he said a little softer.

“My sister is engaged. With Awning Rencid.”

It’s a good family Because he was the rich and historic Viscount Rencid. Awning has a docile and meticulous personality, so he thought he would suit the stubborn Eugenie well. That was to say, had it not been for recent events, Oliver, as well as the Countess of Biscon, would have thought so.

“I have no intention of breaking up Eugenie’s engagement. She said that she would be a blemish to him.”

Elliot laughed at Oliver’s words as if he had the right to marry Eugenie. The marriage of the children was the responsibility of their father. If the Count of Biscon had died, Oliver would have been right. But if that were the case, Eliot’s title for Oliver would have been Count of Viscon, not Biscon’s heir.

“I understand that the heir does not have such authority.”

‘Look at this guy.’

Oliver put on a disapproving expression at Eliot’s sarcastic remark. He was thinking it was a bit better than Awning, but that started to shake him up a bit.

“I don’t have the authority, but I do have the qualifications. I am her only older brother.”

That’s right. Plus, when the Count of Biscon dies or retires, Oliver gets the power. When Elliot didn’t say anything, Oliver decided he agreed with him and went on with him.

“I’m on the side of those who listen to their hearts. Well, Awning is not exactly a weight to lift from her heart.”

What was he trying to say? Elliot raised one eyebrow during this conversation, which he thought he knew the flow and that had taken a strange turn.

‘Oh, this is difficult.’

Oliver grumbled inwardly. All he wanted was one thing, the Biscon family improvement. Of course he loved his sister. He didn’t mean to say that if he wanted to, he would step in and break up her marriage with Awning. If Eugenie wanted to be with Elliot, he thought that was fine too. Count Burns was an up-and-coming aristocrat, but wasn’t he rich? He seemed interested in Eugenie. He also liked that he had no one like the Viscount Rencid and his mother who would interfere with everything. But even so, he had no intention of forcibly breaking the marriage talks with the Rencid family in order to connect Count Burns and Eugenie. But then, if the Viscons get pointed at, it’s in trouble.

“I want Eugenie to be happy. And at the same time, I want my family name to be unblemished.”

Elliot still had one eyebrow raised, and he gave a look of unsure of what he was talking about.

‘Shit.’ Oliver admitted that he’s weak on stories like this.

A family with a handsome appearance and no envy of others. Oliver had little experience of saying those things to others. He sighed and said.

“I mean, be careful with your attitude.”

“I don’t think my attitude will be a problem.”

Elliot said he never crossed the line, let alone crossed the line. He admitted that, at this moment, he and Oliver agreed on just one thing. Eugenie Biscon’s reputation. Neither of them wanted any damage to her reputation.

“I mean…”

Oliver, who was about to speak in anger, sighed once more. He didn’t know what to say. Awning was a good guy and Viscount Rencid was a decent family… To think that he was doing this to give her younger sister a better man. He shook his head and stepped back.

“Let’s do as if this never happened.”

What was it? Elliot stared at Oliver, who receded from him, squinting him eyes. The Oliver he knew was the most cowardly traitor. Despicable and cowardly with no loyalty or justice. He only cared about one thing, his own honor. A man like that was worried about Lady Biscon? There was no laughter either.

“Uh, Oliver.”

Oliver, who interrupted his conversation with Elliot and went back inside, bumped into Awning, who had just entered the club. After a frustrating conversation with Elliot just now, Oliver’s liking for Awning had been revived.

“Awning, how are you?”

“How about Eugenie? I want to visit in a few days.”

The news of her being attacked was also heard for Awning. He texted her right away asking if she was okay. However, Oliver’s anger rose at Awning’s reaction. He didn’t like the frustrating Elliot, but he also didn’t like Awning’s attitude. He’s not going to visit his fiancé right away, he would be visiting in a few days. No matter how noble aristocratic marriages were between families, Oliver did not like this lukewarm attitude. He moved closer to Oliver and spoke in a low voice.

“Act straight, Awning Rencid.”

“Yes? Uh, Oliver?”

“I haven’t been very happy with you and your family lately.”

Neither Awning nor the Viscount Rencid couple did visit. They only sent her a letter asking if she was okay. Even in the name of the Viscountess. Oliver’s warning also upset Awning. He also did not like Eugenie’s attitude. Hadn’t he obviously told her not to get close to Count Burns? Of course, he admitted that Eugenie tried not to get close to Count Burns, but if she hadn’t been in unnecessary danger, Count Burns wouldn’t have helped her.

“That’s what I’m going to say.”

“What?”

At Awning’s counterattack, Oliver made a face asking what he meant. Then Awning said with a disapproving expression.

“Who is at risk? Wouldn’t this have happened if she had stayed calmly inside the house?”

Because of Awning’s voice, the people in the room turned to the two of them. Oliver’s face turned red. Not with embarrassment, but with anger. He began to stare at Awning with burning eyes. He canceled the return his crush towards Awning because of the frustrating conversation with Count Burns.

His crush on Awning began to plummet again.

“Be careful with your words, Awrning Rencid.”

“Eugenie must be careful with her attitude.”

Awning did something he shouldn’t have done. No one should touch the family. Oliver’s anger welled up in his head. He leaned toward Awning.

“What…”

Oliver’s voice came to Awning’s ears as he flinched at what he was doing.

“How dare you talk about her attitude? Shall we talk about attitude?”

What? Awning looked at Oliver in surprise. Oliver still clung to Awning. But he could see his eyes twinkling. Awning’s heart sank with a thump at the eyes full of anger.

‘No way.’

Awning thought there was no way Oliver would know his secret. He didn’t know. Then, he saw Elliot coming inside from the garden. And that expression of contempt he always showed to Awning.

“I heard an interesting story.”

An expression of having caught a weak spot appeared on Oliver’s face. He took a step back with an angry expression on his face. Of course, that gaze was still on Awning. Elliot was standing a little away from the two of them. He instructed the club staff to bring him a cup of tea and then leaned against a wall in plain sight of the two of them. That attitude was enough to convince Awning that what Oliver had heard was probably coming from Elliot’s mouth.

“It’s for your honor that I didn’t tell Eugenie and Mother. It means that I still like you enough to worry about it.”

Awning’s face went pale at Oliver’s threat. Oliver took another step back and put his hand on his waist. And he said after checking Awning’s expression.

“Get your attitude right.”

Awning couldn’t say anything. His gaze turned to Elliot, who was watching him and Oliver. Count Burns was staring at Awning with an expressionless face. He took the teacup brought by the employee and drank slowly. And he cast a warning glance, just like Oliver, and turned his body.

‘Shit.’

Awning’s face contorted. It has to be cut once. He moved his steps to get out of the place.

* * *

“I’m glad you weren’t hurt.”

At Julia’s words, she sipped her tea without saying anything. No matter how much she explained that it was her plan, no one listened. No, rather, when they asked what she was thinking of doing such a dangerous thing, she thought it was better not to say anything.

Contrary to people’s worries, she was safe. After that, Elliot took her there and talked about it. He sent a carriage to avoid people’s eyes and followed her alone. Unlike the idiot who followed her, he said she made good use of buildings and trees. He was the one who found the dragon’s nest and invaded it. Wouldn’t it be better than anyone else in this country to hide the body?

“Father said, the man will be put on trial sooner or later. It’s not the first or second time for that villain, so he won’t get out of prison until he dies?”

A smile came out of Julia’s words as if she was trying to comfort her. Everyone was worried that Cathrow might get out of prison and harbor ill feelings toward her. But in the first place she didn’t know why he hated her so much. She said, putting down the teacup.

“Does Sir Escalee know why I was blamed?”

That’s what she was most curious about. But she couldn’t ask because everyone didn’t like her interest in Cathrow.

“I don’t know. That man is a bit out of his mind…”

It must be weird. It made sense. She sighed.

“He said strange things to me too.”

“What did he say?”

Julia asked, raising her teacup. It was a really crazy sound. She made a impression to recall the memory of that day.

“He acted like I knew him. No, more like as if I were against him?”

He acted like she had done something very wrong with him. The problem was that she had never heard of a man named Gordon Cathrow in her life.

“And he called me a witch again.”
