My Time as a Cat in College

Chapter 22.2

The little cat paused for a moment, then switched to meowing in a mix of cat language and the local language, constantly denouncing the instructor’s merciless behavior.

The investigator laughed, squatted in front of the kitten, and poked her head with a pen, “Little classmate, I want to ask you a few questions.”

The kitten’s ears which were no longer furry moved. She rolled over and sat up, meowing.

“I asked your other classmates before you came back. They didn’t find any abnormalities during the fireball confrontation. That is to say, only your group had an accident. Your group members said that there was some stagnation when the flames were injected. I wonder if you also encountered this kind of problem?”

The little cat thought for a moment and said uncertainly: “It seems to have gone smoothly, there was no problem.”

The investigator listened intently to the kitten’s speech taking notes from time to time.

It was not a trivial matter to have problems during training. The military training courses for new students were all studied and decided upon by the military. Now that a dangerous situation had arisen, it was necessary to re-examine whether this training was worth continuing and whether it was a hidden danger or just an accident.

Investigators on the other side are still looking at the explosion of the fountain pool in order to restore the scene from that time.

Almost half of the training room was destroyed, and it will take time to repair it.

The freshmen looked on curiously, and from time to time looked at Qi Xiaohan worriedly. The training ground was very noisy.

Lang Chen’s eyes swept across the group of brats lightly, and wherever he looked, there was silence.

The students stood up and looked at the instructor obediently.

Lang Chen: “Ten sets of agility training, let’s begin.”

The students immediately took up their positions and ran to the training ground’s dedicated agility area. For a while, the shadows of the students could be seen swooping across the field, dodging and chasing each other, each one very nimble.

The little white cat was still in the same place. Her hind paw was injured so she can rest for a while.

Lang Chen came over and said to the investigator: “The fireball created by the kitten’s group contained a kind of spiritual fire. I don’t know which type it was. The spiritual fire was powerful and incompatible with my White Tiger Flowing Heart Fire that’s why it exploded twice in a row. The reason it headed towards the freshmen was probably because the spiritual fire was returning to its owner.”

Lang Chen spoke, but his eyes looked at the little white cat who was staring at her scorched fur.

When the investigator heard this, he looked a little confused and clicked his tongue.

“That’s not right. The four children have similar spiritual powers, so such a serious accident should not happen.”

Their spiritual powers could be seen at a glance.

Unless there was a freshman that had a heavenly spiritual fire, the same as the white tiger Lang Chen’s.

Lang Chen’s White Tiger Flowing Heart Fire was already overbearing enough. It was overkill to use Lang Chen’s fire to train students against fire spirits. Not to mention that the fire controlled by Lang Chen was very stable. It could be said that the probability of this kind of thing happening was almost non-existent, but yet it happened.

Investigator: “I watched the surveillance before. After you pulled out the Flowing Heart Fire, the fireball continued to fly towards the freshmen, causing the kitten to kick it away, which caused the explosion. Given what you just explained, it is likely that this incident was just an accident.”

It was estimated that when Lang Chen drew out his Flowing Heart Fire, the unknown new spiritual fire took control of the entire fireball, and then headed towards its owner.

The little cat had kicked the fireball away with her claws but had only suffered a slight injury while successfully detonating the fireball, so there was a high probability that the little cat was the owner of the dominant spirit fire.

It’s just that the cat didn’t seem to know.

She only suffered a little burnt fur. It was probably the kitten’s spiritual fire protecting her, otherwise it wouldn’t have been so simple. The kitten may have become accustomed to this kind of fireball, and kicked it away subconsciously.

Fortunately, it was the cat who kicked it. If it had been any other student, they would have ended up in the school hospital by now. However, with Lang Chen there, there shouldn’t be such a serious accident. This fireball was nothing to him. If this kitten hadn’t rushed out, even the training hall wouldn’t have been damaged.

The investigator wrote down the results and then looked up at Lang Chen: “That’s enough. This training room can no longer be used. A new training room will be arranged later. This kitten has a special spirit fire, so for the time being, she mustn’t go to the central tower to test her spirit root. Because of her special spirit fire, some training activities like fire spirit control can’t be done together with other new students either, so you will have to personally train her.”

After the investigator finished speaking, he saw Lang Chen nodded lightly. He couldn’t help but look at the little white cat with some novelty.

Was it possible that such a kitten had a very rare flame?

This new class of freshmen at the Fire Spirit Academy was very good.

Lang Chen signed the investigation results and returned them to the investigator. The investigator didn’t stay long and left directly.

The little white cat stood there, looking up at the instructor,

“Meow–”

Lang Chen lowered his eyes and met the eyes of the little white cat. The fluffy thing looked cute and pitiful.

Now this kitten was without a group.

Lang Chen walked forward, and the little white cat followed behind, limping with her tail raised.

As soon as Lang Chen stopped, the fluffy kitten bumped directly into his calf She was surprisingly soft.

“Meow!”

The kitten suddenly lay on the ground and meowed.

Lang Chen looked at the cat and said in a cold voice: “Don’t move around extensively for now. Go to the spiritual power fine control area.”

The little white cat agreed and stood up. Her tail drooped and she limped after Lang Chen.

Although she wasn’t burned too badly, she was still in a little bit of pain. The medicine the senior sister in the infirmary applied for her was a bit cold when she walked.

Qi Xiaohan couldn’t help moving her hind paws slightly. She glanced at the instructor in front, and continued to follow.

Lang Chen could occasionally see the kitten out of the corner of his eye, but he had no intention of carrying the kitten.

The little white cat suffered a burn on her hind legs and now walked a little awkwardly.

Lang Chen looked at it for a while and suddenly said: “It’s Shun Guai[1.].”

Qi Xiaohan:?

The little white cat was stunned for a moment and opened her eyes wide, “Meow?”

The little white cat pretended that nothing happened, adjusted her posture, and continued to move forward.

Left paw, right paw, left paw—huh?

Damn, I’m walking weirdly!

Seeing the cat’s four claws move in their own way, Lang Chen couldn’t hold back and chuckled.

Translator’s comments:

  1. Shun Guai refers to when someone moves the hand and feet from the same side, then does the same with the other side. Meaning that as they walk they move the left arm and leg simultaneously and then the right.
