Married to a Man who Wants to Kill me

The Final Story

On that day, I stabbed my heart to draw out nectar to save Theo.

There was a fact that people in the world misunderstood. The notion that nectar had to be extracted from the heart of a young child with water magic was completely baseless logic.

The immortal elixir originally belonged to a great mage who possessed the sacred life force.

Since Lethenia was the reincarnation of the great mage, there was only one way to save him. To give him the life force gathered within my heart.

This was a fact revealed by my precious wolf, Casey. Thanks to Casey, I now knew many things I was unaware of, including why I came here and what I needed to do.

Apomenon brought us to their base and treated us. While I gradually recovered, Theo showed no signs of improvement. It was as if a corpse was breathing.

“How long have we been here?”

“Three days. If we wait a little longer, he should show signs of recovery.”

He tried to reassure me, but even he seemed uncertain about Theo’s future. I held Theo’s hand with both of mine and couldn’t leave his side.

“The war will end soon. I hope these dark times pass quickly.”

I shared the news from outside with Theo, who was still asleep.

Though he remained motionless, I believed he could hear me. I just wanted to believe that. Theo had been lying like this for almost six months. I had become accustomed to visiting him every day and talking to him alone.

Sometimes I would stare into his face, and suddenly tears would well up in my eyes, but even that had become a normal part of my life.

While Theo lay down, Asha turned into a battlefield. While we were down, the Xenos had started a war of independence.

The effect of the magical weapons developed by the Xenosians was truly devastating. The Asha army and the Delua army had no choice but to succumb to the weapons they created.

After Duke Bledel’s death and the dire situation, the prince of Delua hastily withdrew his troops.

Disregarding the Emperor’s command, the Delua prince sent an army to Asha, resulting in his losing all his power and status and becoming a condemned prisoner.

No one would take his side, for his military actions were tantamount to treason.

The deadly weapons developed by the Xenosians had even reached the palace.

Apomenon reported that Ian, affected by the magical weapons, had been in a coma for days. Rumors suggested that it happened while trying to save Rosetin, who was in danger.

Numerous lives had already been lost in vain. The Xenos had already laid the groundwork to reclaim their country. It was pointless to continue the war any longer. The war would soon come to an end.

As expected, Asha’s independence forces later presented a negotiation proposal. It suggested returning all of Xenos’s vast territory in exchange for a ceasefire.

In addition, there was a condition that they would supply an antidote that could save many who were still struggling but not yet dead.

The Xenosians were divided into two factions: those who wanted to continue and wipe out Asha, and those who wanted to stop now and quickly rebuild the country. As time went on, the latter opinion prevailed.

The situation ended with the signing of a treaty that would make Asha a vassal state of Xenos. The streets were filled with liberated Xenosians’ enthusiasm, but a problem still lingered. The Xenos land, without the power of water, was nothing short of ruins. I turned to the members of the Apomenon organization.

“I think the time has come for us to leave.”

The subtle power of water still lived within me. The previous emperors of Xenow had ruled over their people by showing off this water magic, but it was unnecessary for me.

I embarked on a long journey that day, wandering across Xenos to plant the power of water in the desolate land.

As time passed, I felt the immense power within me dwindle rapidly, but I didn’t care.

Just as the contaminated soil transformed in my hands, the arid land gained eternal vitality and turned lush.

“Long live the great mage, goddess Lumitaras!”

Everywhere I went, the Xenosians hailed me as a great mage. However, once the power of water vanished, I was nothing extraordinary.

But at some point, I had transformed from a wicked witch tormenting humans into a noble saint who defeated a demon.

The Xenosians hoped I would become their ruler, but I firmly declined. Consequently, the next emperor after Delphkaiser was expected to be a child once called Nectar at the auction.

It was agreed that until the child grew up and could make proper decisions, the council would discuss and make decisions on his behalf.

Occasionally, letters also came from Stella.

When the war broke out and the political situation became unstable, Clemire immediately fled to Zenos. An not widely known fact was that Stella’s extended family had deep connections with Xenos.

Her maternal great-grandmother was a noblewoman in a Xenosian aristocratic family. Thus, the Priodos organization secretly sponsored Xenosian independence funds.

Now that the situation had reversed and Asha’s fate wasn’t looking good, changing nationality might have seemed like a fortunate turn for Stella.

[Rosetin will soon be announced as Asha’s official empress.]

Her letter contained updates on Asha—news that I had forgotten for a while. Ian barely survived with the antidote sent from Xenos.

After some time, the black mage associated with Duke Bledel, for some unknown reasons, was found dead in a barn in the village.

As a result, the black magic in the duke’s secret room was lifted, and the former emperor’s mistress, Vanessa, who was inside, was also able to escape safely.

With the truth exposed, the marriage between Ian and Lethenia was declared null. It was only a matter of time before Rosetin was crowned Empress.

Rumors about the Emperor of Asha cherishing and loving the lady of Bedos reached even the Xenos imperial palace.

Through Casey, I sent a portion of the life force remaining in my body to Rosetin.

It was to heal her soul, which had been shattered by the pact with a demon.

That way, Lethenia, the villainess everyone hated, could have a happy ending by the side of the man she’d loved all her life.

It had been just one year. After wandering through vast territories, I returned to where he was.

Now, all the magical power I had was completely absorbed by the land, leaving none behind. It wasn’t regrettable. Instead, I felt relieved to be completely free from the heavy burden.

The updates from Apomenon that I used to receive regularly suddenly stopped a few weeks ago. Theo still hadn’t woken up by then, so the situation likely hadn’t changed much.

Sometimes he appeared in my dreams, engaging in mundane activities like drinking tea, reading books, or going fishing—similar to our days in the Riven Palace.

Sometimes I’d feel a rush of hope that he’d wake up soon. But my hopes were dashed again and again when I received a letter from Apomenon.

Time passed, and Theo showed no improvement. Now, I considered it fortunate that he was still alive.

Thinking about Theo still made my chest feel tight. Seeing him lying there the same way he was a year ago was quite painful.

Once again, a melancholic feeling surged, and my eyes welled up. I decided to take a detour.

“There’s a place I’d like to visit briefly.”

I stopped the carriage and asked the coachman for another stop before we reached our destination. I planned to visit the Bonneflower Forest before going to see Theo.

The carriage rattled again. Today, in my dream, I saw him standing in the Bonneflower Forest. Even though I knew it was a dream, I was still grateful to be able to see him like that.

In my memory, Theo was always handsome, and Bonneflower was dazzlingly beautiful.

After a while, the carriage came to a halt. The forest was still filled with thorns, but the path to where the Bonneflower gathered seemed cleaner than I expected. It was as if someone had tidied it up neatly.

I felt like it was just yesterday when I was walking with him here. Before long, the sweet scent of Bonneflower tickled my nose.

Perhaps it was because of the enchanting memories of that day that my heart was filled with longing, and for a moment, excitement surged. Before I knew it, I was approaching the entrance to the Bonneflower Forest.

‘Why…….’

The moment I spotted a familiar figure in the distance, my heart started pounding. I walked slowly, half in a daze.

Tears filled my eyes as the silhouette became clearer and clearer as the distance narrowed. The person I had been eagerly waiting for was right in front of me.

‘Theo…….’

Could this be an illusion? I’d welcome it, even if it’s a dream. My steps quickened gradually. Then, our eyes met directly. I ran towards him, hoping, in that brief moment, wings would sprout on my back, allowing me to fly right into his arms.

My chest felt like it was going to burst. He reached out his hands, welcoming me. Without hesitation, I embraced him, unable to speak due to the overwhelming emotions. He spoke first to me, who couldn’t utter a word.

“I’ve been waiting.”

I could feel his warmth vividly throughout my body. His smile, which was warmer than sunlight, and the tender voice echoing in my ears were all real. Only then did my tension release, and I burst into tears like a child.

Theo gently wiped away my tears with a smile, then lowered his head to kiss me. A warm and soft sensation settled on my lips.

The sweet scent of bonneflower became even more intense, making my head spin. All the dark memories that had troubled me in the past vanished without a trace.

I hugged him tightly around the waist. Finally, I could have the dazzling happiness, like the flower language of the Bonneflower.

It feels bittersweet to see the true villains getting a happy ending instead of punishment, OG Lethenia and Ian learned nothing and were willing to sacrifice many people to live their love, Sejin’s soul was dragged into this world and suffered because of Lethenia’s selfishness, we don’t know what happened to poor Rosetin’s soul and Ian was and still is an awful human who only cares about himself and don’t come at me with that part about him sacrificing his life for OG Lethenia in Rosetin’s body, he did that for himself, his love isn’t as pure and beautiful as Theo’s, he is just a self-serving, obnoxious, cruel dolt but I guess it’s fitting that he and OG Lethenia ended up together, they are truly made for each other… I guess hoping for their heads to roll in the hands of the Xenosians was too much.

I agree everything about your comment..

I am glad that the Xenosians wrecked Asha and got their land back. Very disappointed that the trash got a happy ending. Sejin should have left them to rot. I hate that she helped Rosetin. Like every horrible thing Sejin endured were the consequences of OG Lethenia/ Rosetin’s actions. I’m fuming but glad Sejin and Theo can be happy together and the Xenosians are free.

Thanks for your hard work and excellent translation <3
