It rang for a long time, so long that Su Yao was about to give up when the call finally got through.
“Speak.”
“Yunchen, I feel slightly uncomfortable in my stomach. Can you come over and accompany me?”
After a long silence, Huo Yunchen finally spoke, but just one word. “Okay.”
The phone beeped right after this.
Su Yao, who was about to speak, froze. She looked at the phone screen in a daze.
She took a deep breath, wiped the sweat from her palms, and whispered comfort to herself. “Maybe he also has me in his heart.”
Huo Yunchen who just had hung up the call stood up but the beautifully dressed woman beside him pulled his sleeve.
“Yunchen-gege, are you going to see my sister?” Su Ruoxue grunted in dissatisfaction and put down the glass heavily on the table. “Go ahead and leave. Not seeing you for two years isn’t a big deal anyway.”
Huo Yunchen looked down at her. There was an inaudible joy and anger in his slightly deep voice. “She’s pregnant.”
Su Ruoxue’s hand paused. She changed the subject as if nothing had happened. “I want to go see my sister too. Yunchen-gege, can you take me with you?”
**
The smell of sterile water permeated the hospital wards.
With a click, the door of the room opened wide. Su Yao couldn’t wait to look up and saw it was Huo Yunchen, but before the joy in her heart could spread, she saw a familiar face in a white dress behind him.
“Sister, it’s been a long time.” Su Ruoxue greeted with a smile and naturally walked over and sat down on the chair next to the hospital bed.
Su Yao forced a smile, which looked even worse than crying.
Huo Yunchen sneered. There wasn’t a ripple in his tone. “Ruoxue is worried about your health.”
Su Yao nodded in agreement. The atmosphere was stagnant, it was Su Ruoxue who broke the silence. “Yunchen-gege, I have something to say to my sister alone.”
Just then, Huo Yunchen’s secretary called.
Huo Yunchen also didn’t want to stay long, and without saying anything, got up and went out to deal with his work.
There were only two people left in the room. There was a fake smile on Su Ruoxue’s face, but the provocation between her eyebrows couldn’t stop spilling out. “Yunchen-gege is really something. Why did he pick this time to propose divorce to you? He didn’t care about your health at all, sister.”
“But don’t be angry, sister. Yunchen-gege just wants to be with me that much. You can understand that, right?”
Su Ruoxue’s mocking voice was ringing in her ears. Su Yao bit her lip, and a layer of indifference covered her face. She retorted nonchalantly, “Yunchen and I haven’t divorced yet and you’re so impatient.
She stared at Su Ruoxue, and the light leaping from those eyes was frightening.
Su Ruoxue hated Su Yao’s bright eyes the most, eyes that looked at everyone with deep affection.
But who cares? Su Ruoxue smiled. “Yunchen and I are in love but you stepped in.”
Seeing that Su Yao didn’t answer, Su Ruoxue continued to speak. “Speaking of which, you owe me this child. You poisoned me so I can’t get pregnant and now you have reaped the consequences of your own love.”
“But I still have to thank, sister. If you hadn’t married Yunchen for me and got pregnant, I don’t know when will Yunchen and I can get together.”
With all these words, Su Ruoxue perfectly illustrated what it meant to let go of the past and be magnanimous.
However, Su Yao just looked at her coldly. “You know best in your heart whether I have poisoned you or not.”
She had studied medicine since she was a child. When she saw the abnormality in Su Ruoxue’s body, she was kind enough to help her, but she was falsely accused instead.
“But so what?” Su Ruoxue looked at her rather unconcernedly, her eyes full of contempt and disdain. “You’re just my sister in name. I don’t know which nook and cranny you grew up in. Don’t think that you once entered the Su family you can climb a high branch.”
