LZX Chapter 70.2

Xiyuan Dao Discourse (part 2)

Lu Xiaochan cast a thick-skinned look at Haofu.

Although Haofu had already stepped down from his position as Sword Master in front of everyone in the world, a lean camel was still larger than a horse – his authority remained.

Haofu immediately understood Lu Xiaochan’s meaning. “The Wuhen Sword is the supreme sword in the world, and it draws its power from water. It needs a core from a spirit tree nourished by the world’s water sources as its hilt to reduce its spiritual tremors.”

Lu Xiaochan continued thick-skinnedly,”Might you have a solution?”

“In my Xiyuan, we have a spirit tree called ‘Earth Listener.’ Its core would make a suitable hilt that can increase the Wuhen Sword’s power while preventing it from harming you.” Haofu looked toward his disciples behind him, “Everyone, do you have any objections to giving the Earth Listener’s core to Xiaochan?”

“The Xiyuan survived this crisis thanks to the power of the Wuhen Sword.”

Several disciples rose on their swords and actually brought the core of the “Earth Listener.”

Lu Xiaochan held the core, and although he repeatedly thanked the various sects and disciples of Xiyuan, Kunwu could see that this little rascal was already beaming with joy, having gained quite an advantage.

“Now that you’ve received the ‘Earth Listener’ core as a hilt, you can’t stand idly by if Xiyuan needs help in the future!” Kunwu reminded him.

“Of course.”

Lu Xiaochan thought to himself, if Xiyuan needs help, wouldn’t they still have Brother Wuxi?

Kunwu said to Haofu, “Although you voluntarily stepped down from the Sword Master position, you still have the duty to protect this region. I am willing to stay here to help regulate your internal energy and restore your power soon.”

“Thank you, Medical Lord.”

Lord Miaochen rose and reminded everyone, “However, your three disciples and True Lord Faning all seemed to be under the control of the Demon Capital. Now that the Demon Capital is sealed, yet they are nowhere to be seen, this is no small matter.”

“That’s right! Back then in the void, it was True Lord Faning who ambushed me! That’s what made me fall from Chongluan Palace! Where is he! I want to teach him a lesson!” Lu Xiaochan rolled up his sleeves, ready to punish Faning!

“My three disciples were only following my master’s orders. The one who was truly possessed was True Lord Faning,” Haofu sighed.

As Haofu’s junior martial brother, True Lord Faning had always been overlooked by their sect due to his average talents. But he had always harbored feelings for his junior martial sister Chunning. However, the junior martial sister had schemed extensively to marry Haofu instead.

Years ago, when Chunning’s face was scarred by Haofu, she escaped while their master’s sword energy provided cover. After Haofu succeeded to the position, he sent countless disciples to capture Chunning, but she had been hidden away by True Lord Faning.

Taking advantage of Haofu’s closed-door cultivation, True Lord Faning constantly instigated the three martial nephews to fight over the sword master position, and later even enticed them to prevent Lord Miaochen Yuan from leaving Chongluan Palace.

However, where True Lord Faning and these three had gone, even Haofu didn’t know.

“It seems we need to issue a demon-hunting order. All sects still can’t let their guard down. As long as True Lord Faning hasn’t returned, we don’t know if the Demon Capital has other schemes,” Ling Nianwu said.

Lord Miaochen Yuan and Kunwu agreed.

Lu Xiaochan quietly pulled Shu Wuxi backward, appearing extremely cautious as if afraid of being discovered.

But Ling Nianwu turned his head and saw that Lu Xiaochan had already mounted the Wuhen Sword and was pulling at Shu Wuxi.

Lu Xiaochan quickly shook his head at him, gesturing not to expose them.

Ling Nianwu was stunned for a moment, then smiled knowingly, his lips moving to what seemed to be saying “see you again.”

The Wuhen Sword, swift as a passing glimpse, carried Lu Xiaochan and Shu Wuxi away.

A moment later, when Kunwu discovered Lu Xiaochan was gone, he was so angry that the veins on his forehead bulged.

“That little thing, just ran off with Lord Yang Cang like that! Xiyuan is severely weakened! I wanted him to stay and guard for a few more days! What if True Lord Faning returns with those three troublemakers!”

Ling Nianwu smiled. “No worry, no worry! I will stay for a while.”

Kunwu was still furious. “It’s all because of you! You spoiled him in the past and now you’re still indulging him! That’s why he’s become so unruly!”

Ling Nianwu shook his head. “How can this be my fault alone? Lord Yang Cang grants his every request.”

Lord Miaochen Yuan coughed once and stood up. “I have been away from Nanli Jingtian for too long, it’s time for me to return. Villa Master Ling, if you need anything, you can send a spirit bird message.”

“Thank you.”

After flying far enough away, when Lu Xiaochan was sure no one could catch up, he finally let out a breath.

He patted his chest and said, “Oh my, you don’t know how fussy my senior brother is! If we had stayed there, he definitely would have made you stay to help watch over Xiyuan!”

Shu Wuxi lowered his head, just able to see Lu Xiaochan’s delicate nose tip, and Lu Xiaochan’s stomach made a “gurgling” sound.

In Xiyuan, he hadn’t had a single peaceful meal, and now he was really hungry.

“Let’s go to Zhuxu Mountain for soup dumplings,” Shu Wuxi said.

Lu Xiaochan blinked. “Amazing, Brother Wuxi! You never suggest where to go or what to do or eat!”

“If you don’t like it, we can eat something else,” Shu Wuxi replied.

“No, no, no! I like it! I like it! As long as I’m with you, I like eating anything!”

It took just a moment to ride their swords to the town at the foot of Zhuxu Mountain. Lu Xiaochan put away his sword and held Shu Wuxi’s hand as they wandered through the market.

He sniffed here and there, then sat down at a small stall.

Lu Xiaochan ordered three baskets of soup dumplings and some small wontons, then propped his chin up to look at Shu Wuxi across from him.

“Brother Wuxi, did you want to bring me here to eat because my soul-condensed spirit bird told you about the soup dumplings here before?”

“I also wanted to know what kind of taste you like.”

“Great! After we eat and drink our fill, let’s return to Wuyi Jingtian!”

Lu Xiaochan smiled with narrowed eyes, thinking that Wuyi Jingtian was very peaceful, with no one to disturb them, and no one would care what he and Shu Wuxi did!

“Are you in a hurry to go back?” Shu Wuxi asked.

Lu Xiaochan paused. “Isn’t… isn’t Brother Wuxi the one who’s in a hurry to go back?”

After all, when Shu Wuxi found him in Lushu Town, one of the three conditions was that Lu Xiaochan had to return with him to Wuyi Jingtian.

Later, whenever Lu Xiaochan showed even a tiny bit of disdain for how boring Wuyi Jingtian was, Shu Wuxi would become unhappy.

“I just want to be with you. Whether it’s in Wuyi Jingtian or anywhere else, it makes no difference.”

When Shu Wuxi said this, Lu Xiaochan felt a warmth in his heart.

“Then where does Brother Wuxi want to go?”

“I want to see the things you find beautiful, eat the things you find delicious.”

Lu Xiaochan couldn’t help but reach out and pinch Shu Wuxi’s face. “Brother Wuxi, you’re so cute!”

Soon, three baskets of fresh, hot soup dumplings were served, and Lu Xiaochan’s eyes were practically shining.

He had just picked one up with his chopsticks and was about to put it in his mouth when Shu Wuxi extended his chopsticks and caught that dumpling.

“You want to eat this one? Then I’ll give it to you.”

Perhaps Shu Wuxi thought the dumpling he picked looked good.

“Don’t burn yourself again,” Shu Wuxi said softly.

Only then did Lu Xiaochan remember that he had once mentioned in a spirit bird message about burning his mouth with soup dumplings.

He giggled and let Shu Wuxi take the dumpling.

“Brother Wuxi, since you’re worried about me burning my mouth with the dumpling, do you know what to do?”

“Wait for it to cool down.”

Lu Xiaochan shook his head. “It won’t taste good if it cools down. You should first bite a small hole in the dumpling, be careful not to let the soup leak out. Then blow into it twice to let the hot steam escape, then give it to me to eat.”

“Alright.”

Shu Wuxi really did as Lu Xiaochan said, doing it very carefully and seriously.

Lu Xiaochan watched eagerly as Shu Wuxi lowered his eyes, gently and slowly bit a small hole in the dumpling, blew softly, and even pressed his lips together to make sure the dumpling wasn’t too hot anymore, before trying to place it in Lu Xiaochan’s small dish.

But Lu Xiaochan moved his small dish away, lifted his chin and opened his mouth, “Ah—–”

Shu Wuxi brought the dumpling to Lu Xiaochan’s mouth, watching him take it in one bite.

Delicious! Really delicious!

The soup was rich, the meat fragrant and tender, and it had Brother Wuxi’s immortal aura!

In this way, Shu Wuxi fed Lu Xiaochan an entire basket of dumplings, making the diners nearby blush.

But when it came to the second basket, Shu Wuxi stopped feeding him and said, “Xiaochan, it’s your turn to blow on the dumplings for me.”

“Oh my, Brother Wuxi, you learn so quickly!”

Of course he was happy to feed Brother Wuxi!

Lu Xiaochan picked up one, but as soon as he bit a small hole, the bottom leaked. Lu Xiaochan smiled embarrassedly. “I’m not experienced enough with this one, this is for practice, it doesn’t count.”

He ate this one in one bite and picked up another.

But after five or six attempts, they either leaked or fell before reaching Shu Wuxi’s mouth.

When all the dumplings on the table were gone, Shu Wuxi directly raised his hand and ordered another basket.

It seemed he was determined to have Lu Xiaochan feed him.

Only then did Lu Xiaochan realize that blowing on dumplings wasn’t an easy task!

Shu Wuxi succeeded with every dumpling he picked up. But Lu Xiaochan broke every one he tried to blow on.

“Brother Wuxi… you’re not using some method to tease me, are you?” Lu Xiaochan asked with narrowed eyes.

“Your wisdom eyes can see my spiritual energy, I couldn’t trick you,” Shu Wuxi said calmly.
