Lan Ming Yue

Fruit

Shizai Mountain was not high in this continuous mountain range, but the jungle vegetation was lush, and it’s midsummer, with many mosquitoes, snakes, and ants. Trekking through it was not an easy task, especially for Wang Dian, a modern person who had grown up in high-rise buildings. Although he has had recreational activities such as hiking and camping, it was still completely different from the current situation.

When he was fleeing, he took off his robe. He hadn’t walked for long before he was already sweating profusely. He glanced at Liang Ye, whose upper body was naked and all “bandaged”, and took off his middle coat and threw it to him.

“There are too many mosquitoes, put it on.” Wang Dian wiped the sweat from his face and found a shady place to rest.

Liang Ye put on the middle coat, didn’t tie the belt, opened his arms and squatted in front of him, smiling and grabbing his hand, “Hot?”

“It’s okay.” Wang Dian took a long breath, “Why didn’t you keep two horses for the road?”

“Uh.” Liang Ye’s eyes were a bit drifting, “Zhen forgot.”

“You were in a killing frenzy, weren’t you?” Wang Dian glanced at him, then looked around at the environment, “There are many beasts in the mountains, can you beat packs of wolves, tigers, bears, and leopards?”

Liang Ye licked the corner of his mouth, “Can give it a try, there will be autumn hunting in a few months, Zhen will take you to hunt bears.”

Wang Dian pulled the corner of his mouth, looking at the wild grass on the ground, “Bears are protected animals where we are.”

“Protected?” Liang Ye was a bit puzzled, but his eyes burst with intense interest, “Where you are?”

“Where we are…” Wang Dian said half, lowered his eyes to hide his desolate emotions, and laughed at himself, “Anyway, I can’t go back.”

“Tell Zhen about it, there is no place in this world that Zhen can’t find.” Liang Ye poked his face.

Wang Dian reached out and held his fingers, raised his head and smiled, “Do you know what the world will look like in a few hundred years?”

Liang Ye paused, unusually honest, “Don’t know.”

Wang Dian looked at him and said, “Maybe in a few hundred years you will be reincarnated into an ordinary person, loved by your parents, life is smooth, and very happy.”

Liang Ye frowned, “Are you with Zhen?”

Wang Dian laughed, “No, strictly speaking, it’s a paradox.”

In all senses, it’s impossible.

“Zhen doesn’t understand.” Liang Ye looked at him somewhat distressed, “Why do you often say things Zhen doesn’t understand?”

“Generation gap.” Wang Dian was amused by himself, a gap of hundreds of years was indeed a bit large. He laughed for a while, then saw that Liang Ye’s expression became more depressed. He appreciated it for a while, then slowly said, “Actually, if there’s a chance, I really want to go back, but I don’t know what to do.”

“You want to leave?” Liang Ye became alert instantly, his gaze suddenly filled with aggression and oppression.

“Where can I go?” Probably because it was only him and Liang Ye now, Wang Dian was unusually relaxed, jokingly said, “My life is in your hands, I don’t know anyone outside the palace, I can’t do anything, I don’t have martial arts or a proper identity, I can’t run two miles before being caught and thrown into jail.”

“Tsk.” Liang Ye squeezed his palm satisfactorily.

“Now the only one I can rely on is you.” Wang Dian reached out to hold his chin, leaned in and smiled, “Whether I live or die, I have to be tied to you, are you happy, Your Majesty?”

Liang Ye stared straight into his eyes, a brilliant smile appeared on his face, and then he wanted to lean in and kiss him, but Wang Dian subtly avoided him.

Wang Dian gently scratched his chin, squinted his eyes and said, “Actually, sometimes I think you’re quite interesting.”

“Zhen is naturally interesting.” Liang Ye probably enjoyed this intimate posture very much, he didn’t care whether it was hot or not, he sat down close to him.

Wang Dian didn’t move, letting him lean on him, “Did Bian Yunxin hold you when you were a child?”

Liang Ye almost subconsciously tensed his muscles, straightened up, and said lightly, “Don’t ask what you shouldn’t ask.”

“There’s no one else here.” Wang Dian casually picked up a twig and drew on the ground, his arm relaxed on his knee, “Friends can chat casually.”

“Do you deserve to be friends with Zhen?” Liang Ye squinted his eyes unhappily.

“Oh, you even know what a friend means.” Wang Dian laughed and twirled the twig in his hand.

“Wang Dian, don’t push your luck.” Liang Ye showed a sinister smile on his face, “Even without the Gu worm, I have plenty of ways to deal with you.”

“Come on.” Wang Dian didn’t care, “You can’t even chat, I don’t really want to be friends with you.”

The aura around Liang Ye cooled down, his face slackened, not knowing what he was thinking.

Wang Dian gently tapped his hand with the twig, lowered his head to look at him, and smiled slightly, “Are you angry?”

Liang Ye coldly tugged the corners of his mouth, reached out and hugged his waist, then arrogantly and domineeringly kissed him. Wang Dian held onto his injured arm to prevent him from moving around, calmly responding to him. Liang Ye carefully kissed the wound on his neck, and even wanted to bite it with his teeth, but was pushed away by Wang Dian holding his forehead.
On a scorching hot day, it’s not good to have inflammation.” Wang Dian inserted his hand into his slightly damp hair, slowly and gently caressing it, “Liang Ye.”

Liang Ye licked his lips, waiting for him to continue, but Wang Dian remained silent. His patience waned, but the comfort of Wang Dian’s touch on his head was too soothing.

Unconsciously, he leaned closer to Wang Dian, resting his head on his shoulder and squinting his eyes.

In Wang Dian’s other hand, he tightly grasped a small box in his sleeve, the sharp edges causing his palm to ache.

Liang Ye nuzzled his neck with the tip of his nose and lazily said, “Bian Yunxin has never hugged Zhen before. She doesn’t like Zhen.”

Wang Dian’s hand, which was tightly gripping the box, loosened slightly. “Hmm.”

“Zhen doesn’t like people touching Zhen,” Liang Ye frowned. “It’s disgusting.”

Wang Dian pinched the back of his neck.

“Zhen doesn’t need friends either,” Liang Ye’s voice grew colder. “Unreliable things should be killed. If you dare to betray Zhen, Zhen won’t let you off easily.”

Wang Dian sighed and gently rubbed the thin skin behind his ear with his thumb. “So, are you going to torture me to death or peel off my face and put it on your bedside table?”

Liang Ye wrinkled his nose in disgust. “Zhen will make sure you die beautifully.”

“Well, thank you for that,” Wang Dian said, half-jokingly.

Liang Ye chuckled and tilted his head. “Touch that ear too.”

“When I was a child and fell sick, my mom – my mother would press like this.” Wang Dian gently pressed the acupoint behind his ear, “My mother is decisive outside, but once I cry, she has no way with me.”

“Delicate, Zhen never cries.” Liang Ye sneered lightly.

Wang Dian asked, “You didn’t cry the first time you drank white jade soup?”

Liang Ye was silent for a long time before he said stiffly, “No.”

“Hmm, I tried a sip before, and it almost made me cry in pain.” Wang Dian frowned, “It’s too hard to drink.”

“Who allowed you to drink?” Liang Ye raised his head, his face sinking.

“You left the soup bowl there, and I wanted to taste what it was like.” Wang Dian smiled, “Your Majesty, you make it easy for me to misunderstand.”

“Misunderstand what?” Liang Ye didn’t know what he thought, and the whole person was a bit irritable.

“You care about me.” Wang Dian touched his face and hooked the corner of his mouth, “You tease me like this every day, I might not be satisfied with being one of your objects.”

Liang Ye’s eyes gradually became dangerous, “Delusional.”

Wang Dian just looked at him and smiled gently. The smile made Liang Ye suddenly feel a little uncomfortable all over, “Don’t smile.”

Wang Dian obediently suppressed his smile, but his gaze wandered from Liang Ye’s eyebrows and eyes to his lips, lingering on the Adam’s apple that he unconsciously swallowed. His middle coat was widely open, showcasing his well-defined and beautiful waistline that he had honed through years of martial arts training. It was slightly different from Wang Dian’s own physique, which he had developed through regular workouts at the gym—more captivating to the eye.

Perhaps his gaze was too intense, Liang Ye subconsciously tugged at his front to block his presumptuous gaze.

“The sun is getting smaller, let’s continue on our way.” Wang Dian stood up and reached out to him.

Liang Ye glanced at him, reached out to hold his hand to get up, and laughed gloomily, “Don’t hit any evil ideas that shouldn’t be hit. If you annoy Zhen, you won’t have any good fruit to eat.”

Wang Dian pointed to the kiss mark on his neck, “You are so frivolous to me, I just look at you more, and you are already so wronged, even an object is not so bullied.”

“You are frivolous to Zhen first.” Liang Ye sneered, “And boldly lied to Zhen that it was a bite, full of tricks.”

Wang Dian’s eyebrows twitched slightly, “The brain is not good, but these things are remembered clearly.”

Liang Ye stared at him coldly, and Wang Dian calmly looked back.

However, this kind of confrontation between the two people was destined to be inconclusive. In the end, their eyes were sour from staring, and they moved their gazes away and continued on their way without agreement.

Although Liang Ye was full of injuries, he still walked very fast. He even wanted to carry Wang Dian and fly on the way, but Wang Dian firmly stopped him, “You don’t want to live, I still want to walk out of the mountain alive.”

Liang Ye said, “Zhen will carry you with the shoulder that is not injured.”

“No.” Wang Dian said with a wooden face, “I will die of pain.”

“Pampered.” Liang Ye evaluated unhappily, and handed him the wild fruit that had just been picked.

Wang Dian took it and wiped it carefully with a piece of cloth. Liang Ye had already taken a big bite and looked at him with disgust.

“Is this fruit sweet?” Wang Dian asked while wiping.

Liang Ye bit another big bite without changing his face, “It’s especially sweet, Zhen is the best at picking fruits.”

Wang Dian saw him eating so thirst-quenching, but still cautiously picked it up and wanted to take a small bite. Liang Ye handed the half-eaten fruit to his mouth, “You taste Zhen first, see which one is sweeter.”

Wang Dian took a small bite with suspicion, and the sweet and clear taste spread in his mouth. He immediately let go of his heart, took a bite of his own fruit, and the moment it entered his mouth, the sour and astringent taste went straight to the top of his head, so sour that his face was extremely distorted, “Liang Ye!”

Liang Ye looked at him and laughed loudly. The face with unhealed scars and blood color was dyed with a faint halo under the sun. The fine gold outlined the vivid and cheerful arc of his eyebrows and corners of his eyes, concealing the sinister and crazy emperor in the depths of the shadows.

Wang Dian chewed the sour fruit in his mouth fiercely, trying to make himself sober, but he was shocked and sad to find that he still thought Liang Ye looked good when he laughed.

The greatest sorrow of human beings is to be self-righteous, thinking that they can save and change another person, and in the end they find that they are just a dreamer, and then repeat the same mistakes.

Really crazy Wang Dian. He looked at Liang Ye and thought silently, narcissism must have a degree.

But Liang Ye is another Wang Dian, maybe?

Maybe a fart.

Wang Dian threw the fruit in his hand into the grass, and said to Liang Ye who was still gloating, “Let’s go.”

Liang Ye followed up with big strides, smiling and bringing another intact fruit to his mouth.

Wang Dian glanced at him, looking at the malicious light in his eyes that was eager for him to give it a try, sighed, and took a bite, and was stunned.

It was sweet and clear, much sweeter than the one Liang Ye had before.

Liang Ye smirked at him and raised an eyebrow.

Wang Dian took it, gnawed the fruit in a few bites, wiped his hands on his sleeve, Liang Ye grabbed his finger and wanted to stuff it into his mouth, but was slapped on the forehead by him.

Liang Ye licked his canine teeth with a bad face, bit his own fingertip and stuffed it into his mouth, then stared at his finger.

Wang Dian sometimes couldn’t keep up with his weird brain circuit, hid his hand tightly in his sleeve, and vowed not to follow.

Liang Ye probably figured out that force didn’t work well on him, and along the way, he “spared no effort” to feed him another sweet fruit.

Wang Dian was annoyed by him, stuffed his finger to his lips, “Bite quickly.”

Liang Ye stared at him ambiguously, licked his slightly sweet fingertip, “When did Zhen say Zhen wanted to bite you?”

“That’s right–” Wang Dian hadn’t finished speaking, and a sharp pain came from his fingertip.

Liang Ye bit his fingertip and laughed with his mouth open, “But since you begged Zhen, Zhen can only fulfill you.”
