Is the Guide Reborn?

The sentence “I know where Yao Jin is” successfully calmed Pan down. He was like a floating duckweed who found a place to belong in this sentence.

During this period of time, despair and loneliness have constantly exhausted Pan. After all, he is just a student who barely reached adulthood. Before this, he only had to worry about grades and love. Even though he knew sooner or later he would have to fight for his life like every senior before him, that would be ten years later. However, he now was suddenly kidnapped, had a life-and-death situation, fell into the tiger’s den as soon as he got out of the dragon’s den, ending up being imprisoned again with zero clue where he currently is in the universe; Pan was in shock. He was timid in his roots to begin with and is now completely at a loss. Just telling himself to stay calm every day consumed all his mental energy.

“……” Pan held his breath excitedly and asked, “Where is he?”

Cen Zhen said cautiously, “Right there.”

Many creatures were locked in this basement, and the ground was full of cages filled with unknown things. The cages for smaller creatures were piled up like a pet store, and the excrement in the cages above dripped through the gaps to the bottom, which was extremely disgusting.

Cen Zhen worried the others might hear something they shouldn’t listen to, so he spoke vaguely. Pan was hungry, thirsty, and hot, so his brain was not sharp enough to wrap around the information, and now it was rusty like a weight. He was confused when he heard it: “…where is there?”

“There is where~” Lian Yu interrupted unwillingly, yet his words were still mysterious. Pan was anxious: “There is where, where?”

“There is there, the worst among all the places you can imagine with your knowledge.”

“The worst? Where can be worse than the place we are about to go–” Pan bit his tongue in shock to stop the sentence, “…he is there?!”

Cen Zhen slightly shook his head with a smile, “Not too stupid.”

“……” After knowing that Yao Jin was in the slave market, Pan calmed down. He slowly loosened his grip on the iron bars, unloaded all his strength, and leaned back. After a while, he hugged his knees and curled up, muttering to himself: “How much suffering he must have suffered these days…”

After a while, Lian Yu started acting up again. He turned sideways and whispered to Cen Zhen, “A-na, let me show you a magic trick.”

“Can’t you stop for a bit?” Cen Zhen opened his coarse cloth robe. The temperature in the cage was at least 35 Celsius. The air was not only smelly but also hot and stuffy. He was sweating sticky sweat. His clothes stuck to his body as if his skin was wrapped with a plastic wrap. He was uncomfortable regardless of what he did.

“Look, look quickly.”

“So attached…” Cen Zhen had to move his position in the small cage with difficulty, from directly facing Pan to facing him diagonally, so that he could see Lian Yu and Pan at once. The only light source for the basement was the dimly swaying oil lamp hanging on the wall. It was an ancient lighting tool, but it was cheap and durable.

The wick and lamp oil were local products of Beiliang Island, produced and used by themselves, at almost no cost.

The lamp oil contained many impurities and provided limited brightness. Cen Zhen could barely see Lian Yu showing off his dexterous hands, and there were bruises on his wrists from the rope.

The hands that are supposed to be tied tightly behind its owner’s back.

Cen Zhen raised his eyebrows, indicating that this was it? He also stretched out his hands in front of him and stretched his ten fingers like Lian Yu. It was just taking off the rope, who wouldn’t be able to do it?

If the person who tied them up saw what the two were doing now, the other party would definitely commit suicide out of shame.

Lian Yu’s next action proved that there was more to it than that. He touched the cage door lock. As far as Cen Zhen could see, it was just a simple touch, but the next second the Sentinel pushed the cage door open with great skill without setting off any alarm, as if the guard was careless and had never locked the door.

He pushed the door open, closed it, pushed it open again, and closed it again.

In this lonely night, Lian Yu had a lot of fun playing with the cage door. He almost asked Cen Zhen directly in front of his head: Can Anatoly do this?

Anatoly Yezhiya in fact can’t open the cage door, but he could open your back door.

Soon, Lian Yu left his cloak in place, disguised it as a curled-up person, then completely got out of the cage. He was like a night elf light as a feather. Except for his eyes always following his Guide, he did not alarm anyone, broke free from his shackles, gained freedom, and wandered quietly in the darkness.

He did not forget to unlock Cen Zhen’s cage. He just covered his hand over the lock casually, and the door was unlocked. Cen Zhen then found that Lian Yu’s nails were covered with a transparent film. He used this film as thin as skin, to break their imprisonment.

Today, Cen Zhen gains a deeper understanding of the statement mentioned countless times in the novel as the undeniable fact –no one can lock up Dark Sentinel 1802.

If it were anyone else in this cage, they would probably escape from here in ecstasy as soon as they were free, but Cen Zhen hesitated for a long time and silently closed the door.

It was not easy to become a slave. He didn’t want to cause trouble because of running around.

Their initial plan was to make a scene in the Black Tavern because to become slaves, they had to prove their “value.” People who were too ordinary and useless would not even have the chance to have a chip implanted and would be killed on the spot. Two types of people were most likely to become slaves: those who were beautiful and ‘durable’ and those who were strong and durable.

Using seduction as the strategy was too difficult for them. Not to mention Cen Zhen, even Lian Yu was the type who would only flirt with Cen Zhen. The two planned to take the path showcasing force: when they entered the Black Tavern, Lian Yu would hide his strength first, and Cen Zhen would beat up a group of people, and then pretend to be captured.

After discussing it, the neck strap stayed on purpose. Sentinel/Guide’s rare identity was also a condition that gave them value.

But who could have thought that Man Yun’s taste would suddenly change, find interest in Cen Zhen for no reason, and want to sleep with him in a brain twitch? It was from the original text of the novel that Cen Zhen learned Man Yun had the habit of going to bed only when both parties were willing, so he patiently played along with him. Otherwise, if Man Yun had forced himself directly, they might have already killed their way through the Black Tavern and are now discussing on the spaceship what other ways to enter the slave market.

However, the silver lining in misfortune is that although the process was not known where it went wrong, the result was the same. Not only were they about to successfully become slaves, but they also unexpectedly met Pan.

Lian Yu smiled pamperly watching Cen Zhen close the door on himself, showcasing his amazing self-control. He pointed to the depths of the basement, indicating that he was going to see the imprisoned mermaids, and asked if he wanted to go with him. Cen Zhen understood and made a gesture of “Go by yourself”.

He also wanted to see the mermaid, but he was not in a hurry to go. His physique was not as good as that of the S-level Sentinel, and also did not have as much experience in “sneaky operations”. If they encountered any accidents, Lian Yu would definitely be able to deal with them promptly, but he would be prone to trouble. Anyway, he would be implanted with a chip with the mermaid tomorrow and then sent to the slave market, so there would be plenty of opportunities to meet.

Watching Lian Yu’s figure being submerged in the darkness, Cen Zhen relaxed his body, forced himself to close his eyes despite the discomfort, and took a nap. After an unknown amount of time, Cen Zhen woke up from a loud noise. There was a bright light in the distance, and within the light was full of crying and shouting. He touched the imitation human skin terminal on his wrist and secretly scanned the time. It was 6:10 in the morning. He slept for less than two hours.

Lian Yu had returned to the cage unknowing when, and he too looked sleepy after being woken up. When he saw Cen Zhen looking at him, he blinked ambiguously and whispered, “We are being transported early.”

“Why?” Cen Zhen asked, “What happened?”

“That fish has a lover, and they broke in with force.”

How can this person always know everything? Cen Zhen couldn’t help but marvel. Lian Yu read the Guide’s inner thoughts from his face, and couldn’t help laughing with great pride. He then lowered his voice even more: “Because I was the one who notified him.”

“Just now I went to hang out with the shallow-water mermaid and talked with him. He asked me for help, telling me his lover was a deep-water mermaid. I think you probably want to see it since you must have never seen one before, so I helped him contact the deep-water mermaid. I gave him the address of Beiliang Island, and reached a cooperative relationship with him.”

“The deep-water mermaid doesn’t have the kind of invisible spacecraft we took, so their approach will definitely alert the Falling Cloud. The most likely action taken by Man Yun is to move in advance and send us to the slave market earlier to avoid accidents. This is also the result I want to see. After all, this basement really isn’t a place a person can stay. ”

“Then during the whole process of the slave market, I promised the deep-water mermaids to help take care of the shallow-water mermaids. Similarly, they will help us find and rescue Yao Jin.”

He just took a nap, and Lian Yu even found a new ally…

Lian Yu once again saw through what Cen Zhen was thinking. He smiled and said, “Do you feel useless right now? It’s totally fine, kiss me, and I will support you for life.”

Cen Zhen: “……”

The kidney deficient looking third bro’s role is responsible for the prisoners and slaves. Of course, he is the one who came to pick up the people. Several of his men roughly took the slaves to be taken away from the cage, pushed them forward, and straight-up punched those who were a bit slower.

The shallow-water mermaids were treated relatively well. Two people carried the aquarium and walked in the center of the team.

The spaceship to Lava Star stopped at the exit of the prison basement. Man Yun personally led people to guard the door of the spaceship. There were two men dressed as doctors, wearing masks. One was responsible for crushing the slave’s arm down to the ground forcefully, and the other was responsible for pushing the chip into the slave’s blood vessels with a syringe-like tool.

In addition to the doctor, behind Man Yun also stood the high-heeled woman and the gentle woman he had seen before. The redness and swelling on the high-heeled woman’s face had not subsided. Standing in the morning light, she looked a little pitiful. When she saw Cen Zhen, she frowned slightly, but it was just a frown, and she didn’t say anything.

Pan followed Cen Zhen closely, but the person walking in front suddenly stopped, and he bumped into Cen Zhen’s back.

“Are you okay?” Cen Zhen asked while supporting Pan and stuffing a peanut-sized pill into his palm.
