Immortal Destiny

Chapter 11: The Actual Identity of the Rooster

Fang Mu and Xiao Fan froze, their mouths gaping, when they saw a black dragon that had a body hundreds of meters long take off from Flower Mountain Peach and fly towards the sky.

The dragon let out a roar that sounded familiar to Xiao Fan and Fang Mu. That roaring sound was what woke them up every morning.

“Fang Mu, we’re not dreaming are we?” Xiao Fan poked Fang Mu.

“Xiao Fan, do you think this is the right time to ask that?” Fang Mu said in a weak voice.

Fang Mu and Xiao Fan were the greatest cultivators in the righteous and evil faction. Both of them could be said to be at the top, so it’s been decades since they last felt fear. But, in front of the dragon’s might, their bodies trembled violently even though it was in the distance.

“That dragon, is it possible that the dragon is one of the Divine Beasts of legend?” Fang Mu stuttered.

Indeed, among the nine Divine Beasts that used to rule the Eastern Star Continent, one of them was in the form of a dragon. The characteristics matched with the dragon in front of Fang Mu and Xiao Fan.

“If it’s true that the dragon is one of the Divine Beasts, then that explains a lot…” Xiao Fan muttered.

Fang Mu realized something after hearing Xiao Fan’s muttering. Just as Xiao Fan said, if that dragon was one of the Divine Beasts, then the reason for why Peach Blossom Mountain had a bit of qi and the ineffectiveness of pills and spirit stones were answered.

“This place isn’t just a Pocket Realm, but a Divine Beast seal?” Fang Mu was having a hard time believing the facts in front of him.

“It could be. Can you see that?” Xiao Fan pointed to the sky.

When the dragon almost reached the sky, the black clouds began to turn reddish and released a lot of red lightning toward it.

“Heaven Thunder?! The dragon is facing tribulation?”

Red lightning, known as Heaven Thunder in the world of cultivation, was different from normal lightning. It usually descended when cultivators tried to form the Heaven Foundation. Heaven Thunder itself had destructive power almost a hundred times that of ordinary lightning.

“Have you ever seen that much Heaven Thunder?” Xiao Fan gulped and had a cold sweat.

When Xiao Fan and Fang Mu formed Heaven Foundation, both were struck by one red lightning, and they still remembered the pain they felt clearly at that time. Many geniuses ended up failing to withstand Heaven Thunder and so couldn’t form the Heaven Foundation.

One Heaven Thunder was enough to injure a cultivator of the Nascent Soul stage, but right now, the sky before Xiao Fan and Fang Mu was filled with Heaven Thunder. At least hundreds of red lightning struck the dragon at the same time. That much power was enough to make a master like Fang Mu and Xiao Fan seriously injured at the peak of their strength.

The dragon’s movement stopped for a moment after hundreds of red lightning bolts struck it, but after a while, the dragon flew back into the air. Withstanding that much frightening lightning shows how tremendous the dragon’s power was.

The mighty black dragon roared more loudly, making the rain of red lightning vanish before touching its body. Its ability left Fang Mu and Xiao Fan stunned.

“You think the dragon can get out of this dimension?” Xiao Fan glanced at Fang Mu.

“If the dragon manages to do it, then it’s over for the people of the Eastern Star Continent…” Fang Mu’s words stopped because he realized the sky above them started to change color.

The dragon that was flying also stopped as it saw the previous clouds’ reddish color turn purplish. Then, tens of purple lightning flashed down towards the dragon.

“Violet Heaven Thunder?!” Fang Mu and Xiao Fan screamed together.

The two of them have never seen purple lightning like that, but they had read historical records. It was said that thousands of years ago, when humans tried to break through the Nascent Soul stage, there would be much more powerful lightning than Heaven Thunder: Violet Heaven Thunder.

The Dragon roared loudly again. Some of the purple lightning disappeared because of the roar, but the rest hit its body.

A loud sound rang every time purple lightning hit the dragon’s body. Its roars got tougher, especially after its pitch-black scales were torn off by the lightning.

Everything happened so fast. The dragon looked seriously injured after the lightning disappeared. Blood the color of gold flowed from all over its body, though the dragon didn’t seem to care.

The dragon once again tried to rise to the sky while preparing for the next lightning storm, but the purple lightning no longer struck down, and the sky turned golden.

“What happened?” Fang Mu and Xiao Fan looked up and saw the sky that they had never seen before.

Li Hao, who was previously hiding, finally appeared. He had never seen such a beautiful sky either.

The dragon stopped in midair. In contrast to the stunned and amazed Fang Mu, Xiao Fan, and Li Hao, it actually looked frightened.

Suddenly, gold-colored lightning descended and struck the dragon. Time seemed to stop when it happened. The golden lightning passed through the dragon’s body and finally hit Peach Blossom Mountain, making the mountain tremble violently for a long time.

Li Hao’s house, which had a weak foundation, wasn’t able to withstand the shock and began to collapse. Xiao Fan and Fang Mu hastily carried Li Hao out before the house collapsed.

Not only Li Hao’s house, but Fang Mu’s and Xiao Fan’s had the same fate. When the three turned to look back to the sky, the dragon was already gone, and the clouds that were covering the sky slowly began to separate themselves.

In no time, the sky was clear again as if nothing had happened, although Peach Blossom Mountain was still covered in water after raining for the past three days.

Li Hao looked at his house and then scratched his head. “Where should I live now?”

“Hao’er, it’s not the time to think about that now…” Fang Mu patted Li Hao’s shoulder. “Do you know where the dragon fell?”

“Dragon? That snake-like creature’s name is a dragon? I thought it was a chicken.”

Fang Mu and Xiao Fan looked at each other before taking a deep breath. “Hao’er, we have to confirm the dragon’s condition. If the dragon is still alive, then our lives will be threatened.” Fang Mu was actually curious about the golden lightning that appeared earlier, but there was no time to think about it.

Li Hao nodded before leading Fang Mu and Xiao Fan to the location that was likely the place where the dragon fell.
