I’m the Main Character’s Child

“My princess……… I brought you a meal.”

“Yes! Nanny.”

My nanny, who raised me since I was a baby, brought me a simple meal.

A bowl of soup with a few loaves of bread and a few pieces of vegetables.

This was mine and my nanny’s dinner tonight.

It was a small amount for two, but it would be difficult to get more food.

They will definitely send the nanny back, saying that today’s food has run out.

I smiled brightly, not wanting to make my nanny worry.

“Wow! It looks delicious. I think I’ll be full just by eating bread alone.”

“Eat a lot. Princess….”

The nanny smiled and said, but she couldn’t hide her wet eyes.

After all, who would think that the princess of Bardion is having such a shabby meal?

I picked up a loaf of bread and handed it to the nanny.

“Nanny needs to eat too!”

“I can eat later, so hurry up and eat it.”

It broke my heart to see the nanny waving her hand and saying that she would eat later.

It was a routine that was repeated at every meal.

But I know. After this meal, there will be no food for us to eat today.

If I had been an ordinary six-year-old child, I would have been fooled by the nanny’s acting and ate bread and soup frantically.

But now I have the memories of my past life, when I had lived a stinky life in a capitalist society.

“Hmm… But it tastes better when I eat it with my nanny. Can’t we eat together?”

I opened my eyes wide and looked up at the nanny.

It was my secret weapon limited to nanny. I was already ready to shed a tear if she refused.

The nanny burst into laughter looking at me.

“I really can’t help it. You know that my heart weakens when the princess looks at me like that every time?”

“Yes!”

Excited at the nanny’s approval, I handed the nanny a loaf of bread right away.

After confirming that the nanny had received it, I also picked up the rest of the bread and shoved it into my mouth.

It was tough for a six-year-old child to eat hard bread, but it was easy to chew if it was dipped in soup.

It wasn’t fancy, but it was a hearty meal.

“Then I’ll clean up the plates and come right away.”

“Yes, hurry up. Nanny!

After the nanny took out the utensils, I erased the smile on my face.

The child reflected on the mirror was small and dwarfed enough to look like five years old.

The light purple hair looked brittle because it did not get proper nutrition.

“My life is pathetic.”

It wasn’t a word that would come out of the child’s mouth, but now I’m alone, so I did not hesitate.

‘I’ve lived a life worse than this.’

I remembered my previous life.

No, rather than remembering it, it seemed right to say that it suddenly came to mind.

One day, my previous life suddenly replayed in my head. I spent my school days in an orphanage without knowing who my parents were.

After hearing that there are a lot of job opportunities in IT departments, I studied hard and went to college.

In order to earn a living from college, the rest of my time outside of lectures was spent constantly working part-time.

I had living expenses provided by the government, but it was far from enough for me, who had to solve everything alone.

After graduation, I got a job as a programmer at a small -sized game company.

I expected that life would be a little bit better, but the company was a place where the maximum amount of labor was extracted with the minimum number of people.

I never left work on time.

I’ve been doing that for four years, and so I died from overworking.

I died in vain. I did not even experience being in a romantic relationship or any luxury like everyone else.

How pitiful I was! I can’t believe I died without being able to use my hard-earned money properly?

That’s exactly what I’m remembering now.

The one problem was that this place was in a romance fantasy novel I read right before I died.

I really wanted to scream when I found out that this was the Bardion duchy.

That’s because Male lead’s family, who appeared in the novel, was the Duke of Bardion.

Cardin Fel Bardion, the Duke of Bardion, who did not learn emotions and was raised only for the sake of the family.

Reina, an unidentified great saint with a warm heart and tremendous divine power.

The novel ends with the two people meeting, overcoming all kinds of adversity, gradually learning the feeling of love, and finally making a promise for the rest of their lives.

The male lead, who did not know what emotions are, met a woman who was clumsy, but I liked the story of how they met each other, so it stayed in my memory a lot.

“They got married and lived happily ever after… … It would have been great if it ended with a story like that.”

But the place where I live is the end of the novel.

In my previous life, I only knew how they met and what hardships they went through and how they fell in love, but I didn’t know what happened after that.

In the third year of marriage, good news came between the two. Reina was pregnant.

Cardin couldn’t hide his joy at the words that he had a child who shared his blood with Reina.

Every night, if Reina wanted something he would get it himself, and he did not leave Reina’s side.

Seeing him like that Reina laughed and teased Cardin.

Time passed and the date of birth was approaching.

After giving birth, Reina’s body did not recover and died less than a day

The priests poured all their might, but it was unsuccessful.

Cardin couldn’t believe Reina was dead threatened the priests to save her but he knew,

The fact that Reina left his side.

The child born was healthy.

Cardin’s anger was directed at the child, who was left behind.

The child has never seen Cardin’s face since her birth.

She spent six years with the nanny.

The princess who did not even receive a name was called an unnamed princess in the Bardion duchy.

The child who was ignored by the servants.

Yes, that was me.

The child of the main characters who had a happy ending in the novel.

But that also ended when I was born,

“Isn’t this child abuse?”

The bullying of the servants seemed to be getting worse day by day.

Since there is no one to protect me, more and more people think of me as their own and engage in mischievous harassment.

They are only giving me enough food so I won’t die from starvation.

The atrocities of the servants have become bolder as Cardin has been away from the mansion for two years due to the northern subjugation.

It had been a long time since all of the servants who worked for Reina when she was alive had left because the atmosphere of the mansion was becoming increasingly harsh.

The new workers who were able to fill the vacancy in this way attacked a child who had the name of a princess but had no power.

As if relieving stress on a child of a lower status than them.

“Princess, it’s time for you to go to bed.”

When the nanny returned to the room, I jumped up and hung on her leg.

The only person in the world who gives me affection. Is this what a parental affection is, which has never existed in my past life?

“Let’s sleep together, nanny.”

“Shall we?”

The nanny smiled and said to me as I rubbed my face against her legs and showed affection.

I washed up in the bathroom and got ready to go to bed. Although it wasn’t soft, I lay down on a clean blanket and buried my face in the nanny’s arms.

It was very warm.

“Good night, nanny.”

“May the princess have good dreams.”

I was sucked into the deep darkness with the last warm touch on my forehead.

The next morning, the atmosphere in the mansion was very chaotic. The appearance of the servants moving things at a quick pace and cleaning could be seen all over the mansion.

‘What’s going on?’

“The duke is coming back. Hurry up and clean up that house!”

A slightly higher-looking woman was directing the other servants.

Her hair was tied up so tightly that the corners of her eyes were lifted up and looked very ferocious

‘Oh, I made eye contact.’

“Hmm, aren’t you the princess?”

“Hello.”

The woman raised an eyebrow to my greeting and frowned.

“The mansion is noisy, so please go to your room.”

“Yes….”

Such a jerk. Originally, she would be punished as soon as she said such rude things to a princess, but now I was just a princess without name or power.

I swallowed my anger inside and moved away from the woman.

“Hmph, do you think I’ll go into the room quietly?”

No way. They said Cardin would come today. If so, it means that I could see his face for the first time.

‘But he should also know what his daughter’s face looks like. I have a lot to say.’

I squatted in the corner overlooking the front door of the mansion and crouched down. So, I will be able to see Cardin as soon as he arrives.

Even with ambitious aspirations, it seems that a six-year-old child gets tired even without doing anything.

My head gradually bent and my eyes closed.

‘I have to wait.……’

“Welcome. Duke! The strong light of Bardion.”

“Gasp!”

I woke up startled by the sound of dozens of people talking.

As I looked at the front door, I saw a handsome man sticking out among the servants standing in a line.

‘Oh my god. It’s really Cardin.’

Cardin, who has black hair and cold blue eyes that seem to be frosty, is more handsome than I imagined.

I could understand now why a person could faint just by looking at them.

“Let’s go to the dining room. Have a drink ready.”

Oh my. His voice was as cold as it sounded.

My body was trembling, but I couldn’t just sit here all the time. I jumped to my feet.

As soon as I got up, I felt a tingling sensation in my leg.

“Oh my…”

I rubbed my legs and waited for them to get better.

By the time the numbness had disappeared, I hurried toward the dining room.

Fortunately, there was no one around. Holding my breath as much as I could, I crept towards the dining room door.
