I’m Not Doing This With A Friend

INDTWAF I Chapter 4

Lien arrived at the club room early and naturally lay down on the sofa brought by Carson. It was hard to believe that it had only been three days since the club activities began.

“Taking up the sofa for two days in a row alone might be a bit much.”

However, since it was a shared space, Carson was the one who said she could use it as she pleased.

“If you have any complaints, wake me up,” Lien thought as she closed her eyes.

How much time had passed since she closed her eyes? The door to the club room creaked open, and someone entered.

Lien was still in a state of half-sleep, contemplating whether she should get up and greet the newcomer. However, the footsteps that should have accompanied the opening of the door were not heard.

Just as Lien’s confusion deepened, Fior’s voice came from outside.

“Carson, why aren’t you coming in? What are you doing outside?”

Along with the sound of footsteps entering the club room, an exclamation of realization burst out.

“Ah.”

They had discovered Lien, peacefully sleeping on the sofa. Fior’s voice softened as he spoke to Carson.

“Hey, why didn’t you come in? Is something happening inside?”

As the footsteps approached inside the club room, Lien couldn’t hear the exchanged words clearly.

‘Why is it so quiet? I know they told me to keep quiet, but why is it so awkward? It’s making me a little nervous.’

While maintaining a brief silence, Carson slowly spoke.

“…It turns out there’s a club membership adjustment period for transfer students.”

“I’ve never heard of such a thing. How many days is the adjustment period?”

“…This week.”

Although the answer was subtly delayed, Fior couldn’t detect anything unusual and clicked his tongue briefly.

“…During that time, try to keep your temper in check.”

If Lien left the club after barely meeting the minimum number of members, the fate of the newly established club was uncertain.

The two quietly closed the door as if reaching some unspoken agreement.

Meanwhile, Lien, who had realized the silence around her, was silently moved.

Indeed, Carson had only been cautious when he first saw her. His nature was genuinely kind.

When he wasn’t looking, he behaved like such an adorable creature. ‘A cute and mischievous baby cat.’

Lien was the only one who thought of Carsion as a pink kitten.

A cautious movement to avoid waking her up could be felt after a while.

The blanket covering her as she lay down was lifted.

‘Wow, he’s really kind.’

In the consecutive acts of kindness, Lien couldn’t resist and opened her eyes.

“Pink-haired one, what are you doing?”

Caught in the act of covering her with a blanket, Carson, who suddenly made eye contact with her, blushed heavily.

“It’s not like that, don’t get me wrong. It was just a random thing…….”

“Wow, kindness really runs through your veins. It’s even more impressive.”

The compliment felt forced, but it worked, and Carson’s face grew even sweeter.

.”Actually, I thought you might be an angel who lost her wings. Maybe a hidden saint with hidden powers?”

Fior’s expression outside became increasingly shocked with each word she spoke. He couldn’t understand what was being said or didn’t want to understand, but his face clearly showed that he had no intention of understanding.

However, Lien didn’t see that and continued teasing Carson.

“In reality, aren’t you an angel who lost your wings? Or maybe a hidden saint?”

The fact that she was making fun of him seemed to have a certain effect as Carson stiffened like a statue.

Caught off guard by being discovered while covering her with a blanket, combined with hearing unfamiliar words in succession, Fior’s expression had frozen.

Lien, feeling a mischievous sensation rising within her, continued to tease Carsion.

“Ah, a baby kitten, no, an angel. But is it okay for you to openly reveal your identity like this? I’m worried that you won’t be able to return to heaven because of me.”

Carson, who had been caught covering her with a blanket, was still frozen in place, both due to the surprise of being discovered and the unusual words he had just heard.

Lien, with a slightly serious expression, said, “Well, baby kitten, no, angel. But is it really okay for you to openly reveal your identity like this? I’m worried that you won’t be able to return to heaven because of me.”

After that, she walked gracefully behind the frozen Carson. In a moment of silence, Lien bent her knees toward Carcion’s hind legs.

Swoosh.

Suddenly, Carsion’s knees folded, and his body lost balance, swaying. Lien skillfully grabbed Carsion’s arms, supporting him and opening her mouth playfully.

“Oh my. That was dangerous.”

As if it were something she didn’t do herself, she spoke. Carson, regaining his composure from her leg attack, swiftly pushed away Lien’s hand with a scolding gesture.

“You, you…!”

“Huh? Pink-haired, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”

Watching their interaction, Fior, as if realizing it wasn’t a dream, slapped his cheek lightly and chuckled.

“Haha, seems like the world is going crazy.”

“Don’t come any closer.”

“What did I do? Treating me like a complete fool.”

I raised my eyebrows in disbelief and swallowed hard at the laughter that threatened to burst out.

I can’t believe his guard is up like that after a few teases. I should have restrained myself.

But his reactions are so amusing.

It seems that he got annoyed since yesterday, as seen by occupying the sofa and preventing me from sitting. It seems like my revenge, but isn’t it cute?

I settled on a small table near the sofa, following Carson’s lead. It was the opposite seat where Fior was sitting.

I couldn’t just ignore the words of the spoiled baby cat. If I approached without caution, it felt like he might really get upset.

And sometimes you need to control the pace, as his guard hasn’t completely come down yet.

I rummaged through my bag, contemplating what to do to pass the time quickly.

While lost in thought, Fior, with legs crossed, reading a book, and floating in the air, came in.

To be precise, it was his right foot floating in the air.

Ah, I can’t stand for this.

Come to think of it, if Carcion can’t tease others due to cooldown, why not tease someone else?

I glanced at Fior’s book and asked, “What are you doing?”

Then Fior looked at me with a smiling gaze, different from others, very gentle.

“Oh, I was reviewing today’s lessons.”

“Fior is surprisingly sincere.”

“Surprisingly?”

As if he didn’t expect that reaction, a slightly puzzled expression crossed Fior’s face.

I didn’t miss that moment of puzzlement. The whole point of speaking to him in the first place was to catch him off guard.

For a brief moment, I shifted my gaze downward. Then, with a deft move, I slapped the back of his shoe and pushed him off.

As if casting a spell, the shoe was effortlessly kicked off.

It was a play that required delicate skills, something that couldn’t be done without a certain level of finesse.

“Uh…?”

In an instant, one of Fior’s shoes was off, and he looked back and forth between the shoe and me in surprise.

I, with a bright laugh, picked up his discarded shoe and kicked it far away.

Thump. Thud.

It hit the wall of the club room, making a pitiful sound. His gaze turned towards the direction of the shoe with a helpless expression.

“You… it’s not because you look like that for real….”

Fior mumbled something about my appearance, but eventually, he closed his mouth without finishing.

I felt even more enjoyment watching his reaction.

Because of my dad’s playful nature, my mom and I had always been victims of countless pranks, and Fior didn’t seem like someone who could deceive others. I wonder if he’s living for the taste of playing pranks, like my dad.

But playing pranks is playing pranks, and it’s not good to upset him more than this.

I walked over, pretending to be carefree, and picked up a randomly scattered shoe.

Perhaps feeling uneasy about his shoe being in my hands, Fior squinted his eyes.

“Don’t tell me you’re going to throw it out the window?”

“I’m not that bad.”

I smirked, and Fior, muttering to himself as if talking to himself, said softly,

“Is it indifference, brightness, kindness, or malice…”

His expression and tone, filled with confusion, made me involuntarily chuckle.

I was tempted to play a little more.

I approached him, one knee bent, intending to actually put his shoe on him. Well, I tried.

But that plan fizzled out. It was because of a sudden loud voice.

“Hey!”

At Carsion’s urgent voice, I looked at him with one knee bent awkwardly.

“Don’t you have any pride? How can you kneel so lightly?”

I was surprised by the unexpected point he got angry at. I didn’t expect him to get upset about trying to kneel lightly.

While Carcion himself and Fior’s teasing were let go, for some reason, it seemed like I had made a big mistake.

“Pink-haired, are you angry?”

“No.”

Carson shook his head, denying my words.

Then take that pissed-off look from your face.

I approached him cautiously, hoping to ease his mood.

To avoid startling the cautious baby cat.

Slowly and very carefully.
