I'm a Supporting Role in a Horror Game, Don't Kill Me

CHAPTER 072

Shine seemed intent on hiding under the table in the small sitting room. Watching the quickly running back, I found the best place to watch the surprise event in the parlor and entered the small utility room across from it. I left the utility room door slightly open so I could see the living room clearly and stood behind it.

“Three… two… one!”

After Luna finished counting, the sound of excited, light footsteps running here and there was heard.

Tototo. Totototalk.

“I found you!”

The first one Luna found was Shine, who despite her high motivation, was unable to properly secure his hiding space.

“No, not yet!”

“Did you find it?”

“…okay. You’re really stubborn too, Luna.”

“Teacher Albi! Where are you?”

“Where are you!”

Shine seemed to be really excited about playing hide and seek, so she tried to insist, but she quickly stopped and started looking around with Luna, looking for me.

The sight seen through the crack in the door was so cute that I unconsciously put a happy smile on my face and watched the two of them looking around the narrow living room and glancing at the curtains.

“Isn’t it over there?”

“I found you! Miss Albi!”

“Teacher, you really can’t hide.”

Shine and Albi hit the curtain at the same time. As soon as the curtain fluttered, three pairs of arms shot out and lifted the two bodies up.

“…uh?”

“…what?”

I laughed to myself when I heard that stupid sound.

‘I need to see Shine and Luna’s faces from the front.’

“How have you been, my master?”

“…how…”

“Milorad! Lemuet! Latte! I miss you!”

As Milorad turned her body and lifted Shine onto her shoulder, Shine’s face was visible. Even though she was being held in Shine’s arms, her big golden eyes were wide open as if she couldn’t believe it, and she didn’t know what to say, but she was only mouthing.

Luna, on the other hand, was so happy to see her that she hugged her like a puppy, rubbing her head against the three’s bodies.

Shine looked blankly at Luna moving from her arms to her arms for a while, then frowned as if her eyes were dazzling, and then she looked up at the three of them.

“Why did you come here?”

Milorad bent down on her knees, put Shine down, and smiled.

“I came to see you, young master. But our Master Shine has become so heavy that I can’t hug him as much as I used to. My arm already hurts.”

“…Of course, I am in the midst of growing up. Uncle… Did your uncle call you?”

Milorad shook her head gently.

“No.”

“…Then why did you come?”

“Shine, didn’t you miss me? I used to hug you often.”

“…It’s not like that. You don’t have to force yourself to come.”

Milorad, the gentlest and always calmest of the three, raised her head and looked at her ceiling as if she could no longer bear to hear Shine’s words.

His eyes were red, as if he was about to cry.

‘Right… I understand.’

When I see the child crying too much, I feel bad.

Because it is the maturity that was forced upon the child by those around him. After the death of her parents, she believes that the time Shine endured alone brought about a maturity.

She just mumbled as Shine looked down at her floor, then she looked up in surprise and saw that Milorad’s eyes were new red.

“What’s the matter? Are you okay?”

Milorad shook his head. Her gray short hair was flowing and shaking.

“It’s a plan, Milorad.”

“Don’t cry. It’s been a long time since I came to see you, master, is it going to be like this?”

Latte and Lemuët tapped Milorad on the shoulder, and Milorad pressed his hands around his eyes and nodded her head. Then she slowly opened her arms and pulled Shine into her embrace.

Shine was as embarrassed as when I first held her.

Milorad muttered, holding Shine tightly.

“What on earth are you talking about? Forcibly… She just couldn’t come because she felt like seeing me would only bring back bad memories. Arbice was right. Looking at it this way, it’s really nice.”

“…Did the teacher say that?”

“Yes. Like this… If I had known you were thinking this way, I would have come sooner.”

Shine seemed to hesitate for a moment, then she looked around her as if looking for me, and then she slipped out of Milorad’s arms.

Then he seemed to be looking for me again, and then he sighed and held out his hand to Milorad.

“Yes?”

“Now that I’ve grown up, I have to greet you like this.”

“…Hehehe. Is it so?”

As Milorad, Latte, and Lemuët approached one after another and shook hands, Shine smiled brightly.

“Thank you for coming here.”

‘It’s heartwarming, it’s really heartwarming.’

It seems to have been a fairly successful hidden camera.

She smiled happily and the moment she thought she had to open the door to the utility room and come out, she heard Luke’s voice.

The voice came from beyond the wall. They said they had a prior appointment, so it looks like there’s another reception room next to this, right?

Out of curiosity, I inadvertently put my ear to my ear, and the voice became clearer.

“…Yes, please speak, Your Majesty.”

I was shocked by the scale of the ‘annoying precept’ I had heard before leaving Luke’s room, so I covered his mouth.

“…I have no intention of stopping you from holding a banquet any longer. So please stop randomly contacting me like this. Isn’t it a means of emergency communication in preparation for a country’s crisis?”

‘…what’s this? Are you really talking to the King?’

It seemed like there was something like a telephone even in this extremely underdeveloped game where all communication had to be done through letters. Of course, it seems too early for it to become widespread.

‘No matter how much the telephone has been developed, there is no hotline between the King and Luke… It’s really amazing. Does this mean that Luke is a person who is trusted by the King?’

It seemed like I was lucky enough to overhear an important conversation.

I swallowed my saliva and listened as I heard this for the first time.

“…Wouldn’t you be notified on the same day?”

“I guess you really hate people like me.”

“I always take that warning to heart. There is no need to worry.”

‘…I can only hear Luke, so I should know what they’re talking about.’

I just covered my mouth and rolled my eyes.

Although the exact details are unknown, it seemed like the King did not like Luke.

It’s strange.

The Duke of Rearmond was a family as great as the royal family in the park, and the prestige of Luke was so great that even ordinary citizens of the park would ask the duke to solve the current incident when they met him.

‘But you go to the extent of using words like ‘ethnicity’ and such… What on earth?’

The incomprehensible conversation continued.

“No matter how you interpret it, do as His Majesty the King wishes. However, as I said last time, the princess is only expressing her feelings to me unilaterally. There’s nothing I can do to stop that.”

“…I had no idea that His Majesty the King was even interested in such rumors. I think you can consider it to be true.”

“If I knew you would be so excited after hearing about my love story, I would have done it sooner.”

“All right. Anyway, please just be concerned about increasing the expenses on the day of the banquet.”

The conversation ended there.

‘…I skipped it after hearing it the other day, but it really seems like the King doesn’t care about the relationship between Luke and the princess.’

Why? I rolled my eyes as much as I could and was lost in thought.

The reason why the King is not pleased with the existence of Luke.

The King had been seen a few times during game events.

Well, I understand that due to my status, I don’t feel like working out diligently, but I was so round and obese that I wondered if something would happen soon. Additionally, I remember not having enough hair.

‘So, did Luke’s thick blonde hair, beautiful face like an angel, and body that makes you admire just by looking at the shoulder line stimulate the king’s complex?’

Even though I thought about it, this seemed like a somewhat nonsensical reason.

While I was rubbing my chin with my hand and trying to think of another reason, I was frozen in thought as I wondered if Luke’s love story and all that was about me.

‘…Everyone I meet seems to have deep misunderstandings. What happens if strange rumors spread like this?’

Taking a deep affinity line with one character can sometimes be a hindrance when building affinity with other characters.

Sweet.

As I was ruffling my hair, feeling like my head was going to explode with all these thoughts, I noticed a faint sound coming from the next room.

It looked like Luke was coming out of the room.

‘Omg.’

I suddenly came to my senses.

‘If they find out what I overheard, tonight’s event and everything could be in big trouble.’

This is a class-based society, and it would be really bad to be caught eavesdropping on a conversation between two people of the highest status in the park.

Tap, tap.

The sound of Luke’s footsteps, so familiar to my ears that I could now completely distinguish them, started from the next room, passed through the hallway, and approached the utility room where I was hiding.

Tap, tap, tap.

The sound of footsteps stopped right in front of the utility room.

‘…Hehe.’

I covered my mouth and held my breath.

“The customers who came yesterday came again today.”

He must have noticed the guests gathered in the drawing room.

Following the sound of greeting, Luke was heard talking to themselves.

“Miss Green, you’re really busy with construction.”

‘You know I’m hiding here, right?’

His voice, with its faint hint of laughter, seemed to be speaking directly to where I was.

My heart almost stopped for a moment.
