I'm a Supporting Role in a Horror Game, Don't Kill Me

I looked at Luke’s arm stretched out in front of me. I couldn’t refuse this time either.

‘It’s nothing. It’s like he’s stubborn.’

I didn’t want to show that I was afraid of him, but I didn’t even have the confidence to reach him. I forced my hand up so that my fingers could barely reach Luke’s sleeves. He smiled to the corner of his mouth and I wondered what was so funny about it and then took the first step. As I turned around with a sigh, Amber gave me a fan and showed a fighting pose with a face full of excitement.

The banquet hall was filled with bloody wine glasses and musical instruments. At first, I thought it was a band playing, but when I entered, it appeared to be an ensemble of guests surrounding a large grand piano. Seeing the young ladies competing to show off their talents, it reminds me of a male peacock adorned strangely and splendidly.

‘It’s useless to show off to the killer.’

I looked around the tea room, unable to hide my regret, and suddenly saw a woman walking straight towards Luke.

“It’s been a while, Luke.”

She was a striking black-haired princess, wearing a dress that exposed her breasts and her legs. As soon as I saw her face, I remembered seeing her face in the game trailer.

“I think we saw each other just last week.”

“Oh, did we? So, do you have any complaints?”

“Could that be? It is an honor to have you attend.”

While Luke lightly kissed the back of Princess Blanche’s hand and said hello, I slipped away.
Princess Blanche seemed to be interested in him, who I was after entering with.

‘I have no interest in Luke at all.’

When my gaze met her eyes, I grabbed the hem of my skirt. I saw others greeting Luke like this and referred to it, so I bowed gently and stepped back. It meant ‘whether the two of you get married or stir-fry, take care of yourself, I’m busy with errands.’ I hoped she understood.
Of course, taking on the murderer wasn’t without remorse, but… No matter what I said to Princess Blanche, if rumors leak out, my life would be in danger.

At that time, the voice of Luke was heard.

“Miss Green?”

‘Aaaaaa, I can’t hear anything.’

I pretended I didn’t hear Luke as brazenly as I could and walked away from him. I could feel his curious eyes following me, but fortunately, it seemed that he hadn’t abandoned the princess to approach me.

I used this opportunity to look at people. However, things didn’t go as well as I had planned.

‘I’m sure I’ve seen Catherine Hunt’s face before, but I can’t quite remember.’

Because she was just a supporting character, only a faint impression remained. It wasn’t easy to figure out where she was just by looking at people’s faces. I had no choice but to follow this or that group with my eyes and started to hang out just enough to introduce myself. Greetings and pretending to hang out with a group of terribly authoritative people was more tiring than I thought. Every time I greeted those with sky-high shoulders, they always looked me up and down. I gradually got used to hearing ridicule saying, ‘Ah, you are the daughter of the baron who is said to be the children’s tutor.’

‘Are you saying that nobles consider working itself a shame? You did very well.’

After grumbling and drinking about three glasses of wine, I finally found Catherine among the last group of people who had approached. She was the next victim.

As I looked at the middle-aged woman with her prominent red hair, I suddenly remembered the reason why I couldn’t easily remember her face.

‘Because as a player, Catherine Hunt has never been seen alive.’

…ugh. A chill struck me suddenly. As I tried to shake off the goose bumps running down her spine, someone clung to the hem of my skirt.

“Teacher, I’m here!”

“Teacher, I’m here!”

“Wow!”

When I looked down in surprise, Luna and Shine, who were a bit late because of the leader, were looking up at me with a calm expression. Luna wore a white mini dress with her skirt puffed up, and Shine wore a three-piece brown suit.

‘They are angels, how can it be? It’s so cute I’m dying.’

Even in the midst of my surprise, I lowered my body towards the two extremely cute people and made eye contact.

“You came?”

“Huh.”

I looked at the two doll-like faces one after the other and made a bluff.

“You have to play quietly and have fun today, so I will let you come again next time, okay? Aren’t you the kind of aristocrat who can’t think of what’s next because they’re thinking about what’s fun right now?”

Shine, who was making a face that seemed like he would run out and start a fight with others, puckered his lips at my words. Shine worked really well at scratching his ego.

‘My experience of tutoring and playing with my nieces and nephews is helpful at times like this.’

I smiled and patted both of them on the head.

Home tutor welfare is the best.

With a happy face, I looked up as I rearranged the two of them’s hair that I had scattered, but I couldn’t see where Catherine Hunt had gone in the short time. Looking around her head to find her, a loud voice came from her back as if to hear.

“Is that the woman that just entered with the Duke?”

“I see.”

“Look at those clothes. Even though it’s out of fashion from a long time ago… I heard that the baron Green went bankrupt, but don’t you think he went bankrupt quite a bit?”

It’s not wrong, so I was nodding my head inwardly, but the voice didn’t stop there and started scratching my temper.

“The only way for a woman who grew up in a family with no money and no background to succeed is to become a live-in tutor. If she hits like that, she’s successful, right?”

“She must be thinking of seducing even the Duke herself. Would you be offended if I said that? She must already be Mr. Luke’s wife at heart right now?”

“I heard from a servant who works here, and she said that the Duke was in trouble because she hadn’t done anything for a week since she came in? She said she’d be kicked out soon?”

“Well, I’ve never seen a Rearmond’s tutor for more than a month. Can you tell that she is that woman?”

‘What are we going to do now?’

I stared in the direction where the sound came from, wondering if I had heard something wrong. Leading the conversation was a typical beauty with tanned skin and plump lips. It was a face she knew too. Libya Zenon. It was a minor supporting character, but she was a good NPC to contact when collecting testimonies or rumors because she was a luxury who could convey her words well.

‘After all, it’s not my story, it’s Arbice Green’s story, but it’s not very pleasant to hear it from the position of becoming that character, right?’

Everyone who met my staring gaze opened their eyes wide as if they were surprised.

‘Is it only embarrassing to see a powerless woman that elegant-looking with pretty neatly dressed men gather together? That’s right, her status is different, right?’

I’m annoyed, but what can I say?

I killed my temper as much as possible.

‘Say whatever you like.’

Weren’t game characters just acting according to the set values? And well, it’s definitely a class society, so if you act out of proportion, you might not like it. And somehow I felt like I knew why they didn’t like me. Everyone dressed up so fancy and even brought an instrument to catch Luke’s attention, but they were annoyed because I came in wearing cheap clothes with a low status and walked in with Luke’s arms crossed.

‘It’s childish.’

So, if I had only heard that far, I would have just ignored it. But even though they looked me straight in the eyes, they kept making fun of me.

“I don’t know if I can leave the kids with a woman who came in with a different mind like that. It’s a scary world.”

“Would Duke Rearmond leave his own children? Since they are a niece and nephew without parents, he should leave it to a woman like that.”

“Really, the Duke is kind, so it’s a mask. Seeing him take care of his older brother’s children who have nowhere else to go is amazing. No matter how much you live without, you don’t reap.”

I was startled and looked at the complexion of the children. Thankfully, Shine and Luna didn’t seem to hear them at all because they were playing around with each other’s clothes decorations. But I heard it.

‘Did you kick out the low-ranking people like this until now? No, no matter how much you do, you can talk like that about children with no parents.’

I felt like even Shine and Luna had been turned into tools to put me down, so I was angry at the moment. I had to put up with it, but I couldn’t get over it.

‘If someone else is listening, shouldn’t we use common sense to cover our words? And being poor and of low status is not a sin. I didn’t ask them for anything, so they have to listen to me?’

I covered my fist with my other hand.

‘No, let’s wait. This is the killer’s mansion, and you shouldn’t be seen by anyone. Therefore… No, I can’t.’

I thought for about 0.0001 second that it would be better to kill my temper and live, but when I saw Luna and Shine holding the nanny’s hand and walking away, I unknowingly jumped up and stood up.

“It seems that you are the lowliest one, lady of Count Zenon.”

“…what now?”

Count and baron were the same nobility, but there was a big gap in their status. Lady Zenon’s face turned red, as if she couldn’t imagine that Arbice, who was nothing more than the daughter of a poor baron, would scratch her temper.

“Say that again, bitch.”

“I don’t know why you were angry with me, but I wanted you to apologize for telling Shine and Luna that they were left to me because they are just the niece and nephew.”

Libya’s face turned pale.

‘I think it was belatedly thought that she was trying to put me down and her words got a little harsh.’

However, it seemed that it was impossible for her to bend to me, a baron’s daughter who was almost ruined. Libya raised her chin, furrowing her eyebrows.

“Where did I say something wrong?”

When it comes out like that, what was I supposed to do? I swung around once to get rid of my anger, but I saw Princess Blanthe and Luke approaching right nearby.
