I'm a Supporting Role in a Horror Game, Don't Kill Me

Come to think of it, it was a game in which events occurred differently depending on the level of liking. Besides, when it comes to Lakers, he’s a major character, so there must be a lot of events that happen depending on how good he was. He was happy and I didn’t understand.

‘His nephews got scolded and he liked it.’

And besides, you say you like it this much by wrinkling your face? Well, was there anyone else besides a psychopath who understands the mind of a psychopath?

‘Okay, let’s not try to understand in the first place.’

I put down my fork and wiped my mouth with the intention of getting up.

“Do you want more?”

“It’s fine.”

I answered, trying to avoid eye contact as much as possible. He tilted his head at what was strange, then took the bread with his hand and divided it in half. Even the shape of well-fermented bread tearing like a spider’s web looks cruel, now. Shine and Luna seemed to have eaten too, so I was about to remove the chair, but Lakers started talking to me again.

“Oh right. The tea party.”

“Pardon?”

“We are having a small tea party this afternoon, so if you have time, please come down. I know you don’t like this, but it will be fun.”

To have a tea party. I quickly shook my head. The tea party event was an event that was mainly used to increase favorability along with the court banquet event.

‘Well, I’m not very interested.’

Just being in this murderer’s house right now makes my heart pound and my throat trembles with anxiety… I didn’t want to meet anyone else. More than anything, it was my honest feeling that I didn’t want to bump into Lakers in any way. While intertwined with that smooth killer, I wasn’t confident not to find out that Arbice was suspicious of him. I was thinking about how to refuse well, but Lakers added his words by drawing an arc with his lips.

“This is the first time I’ve invited someone and waited so long for an answer.”

‘…Wow, how well do you know that I am good? Unlucky.’

The moment I was about to firmly shake my head, he quickly added words as if he had guessed my rejection.

“The princess is also present. Jason, Lina, and Miss Catherine are also coming.”

‘Catherine?’

Catherine Hunt.

My ears flashed.

‘Clearly… I saw that name.’

I’ve seen it many times in the victim list, but the last time I saw it was in the case notebook. She was still alive. I just was foretold that she would die soon. It’s still just speculation, but it seemed like the game route was decided to some extent to be recorded in the case log. Maybe… If left alone, she would really be a victim. But…

‘What can I do as I’m only a supporting character? Just… Should I just leave it alone?’

I bit my lip.

‘I was quiet without anyone noticing… Wouldn’t it be all right if I could just give her a warning?’

Lakers, who had been watching it for a while, suddenly muttered.

“Miss Green seems more interested in the other guests than I am.”

“Yes?”

I was so shocked that my voice cracked. He smiled and turned his eyes to me.

“Why didn’t I know right away that Miss Green was such a fun person? Then we could have had a little more fun.”

Goosebumps ran through my body at the words ‘more fun’.

‘What does that mean!’

Lakers quickly put down the napkin they were holding, looking at me as if they were having fun. Feeling like prey, my appetite, which I hadn’t had before, quickly dropped. What does Lakers’ “fun” mean? All kinds of equipment from horror movies and dramas about murder and crime passed my head. Chainsaw, iron handcuffs, axe… And more equipment you didn’t even want to imagine.

‘I really don’t want to know.’

I barely took my gaze away from the beautiful but creepy guy, and I saw Luna and Shine raising their hands. Somewhere, the bright eyes seemed to be looking for something.

“Luna, Shine. Both of them ate well. You did well, so I’ll praise you later.”

“Huh! By the way, are you going to the tea party too?”

“Ha! So exciting!”

I blinked my eyes in bewilderment when I saw the children’s faces with the corners of their mouths raised to the sky in excitement. They’d never know that I suspected their uncle of being a serial killer.

“The teacher said we could go too, right?”

“Yes?”

Apparently, he had said that if they found someone to take care of them, they could attend the tea party. Lakers slightly raised his eyebrows. That seemed to be his unique troubled face.

‘His face is so handsome that even if he moves just one eyebrow, he looks like a male protagonist carrying all the tragedies of the world.’

I averted my gaze, not wanting to see him looking lovely and melancholy. He shook his head after a moment of silence.

“Surely I said so. But Miss Green was invited separately today, so if you guys are here, I’ll enjoy the banquet in peace…”

No.

‘If the kids go together, won’t my chances of living go up? Are you sure you want to kill me in front of your nephews? Why didn’t I think of that?’

Okay. It’s ridiculous to reject such cute and dependable beings. With these kids, it wouldn’t be so dangerous, so it wouldn’t hurt to attend at least once. Besides, Arbice Green originally had no one to interact with, and after death, she said, there was no one to tell her about her usual whereabouts.

‘It’s good if I can make friends, and exploring various routes might increase my chances of survival.’

I hurriedly reached out my hand to block his words.

“No. I will go with them.”

“Um, are you really okay?”

“Sure.”

Lakers seemed to be thinking hard, but he nodded as if he could do whatever he wanted. The two children raised their hands and shook them as if they were excited to attend the tea party. Arbice apologized and got up, and the nanny came over and cleaned up the mouths of the children.

Contrary to what she was worried about yesterday, teaching two children was not as bad as she thought. For children, it may not be a good educational environment for them to be unable to learn from experts and play with idiots like me but…  First of all, if you think about living in a killer mansion in a horror game, the important thing may be survival, not the educational environment.

Following Lakers’ advice not to go far, I decided to stay at home today. Shine and Luna kept quarreling with me or saying rude things, as they always did, but when I thoroughly ignored or corrected them every time, those attitudes were corrected faster than expected. It seemed that it was not that children had bad natures, but that there had been no one to correct them until now. And the rise in favorability seemed to help to some extent. The contents of the workbook in Arbice Green’s bag were very monotonous and easy arithmetic. After spending a couple of hours having the children solve them, I decided to read them a fairy tale as a reward. Since it was a world view without TV or YouTube, children were much more enthusiastic about fairy tales than expected. I picked out a book, wrapped them in a blanket, sat them down next to me, and immediately told them a story I knew. Being the murderer’s nephew wasn’t enough, it’s so pitiful to grow up listening to horror novels. She recounted as many stories as she could think of, such as a mermaid who wanted to be with the person she loved by selling her voice to a witch, and children who left bread crumbs in the woods to be eaten by witches. But both Shine and Luna, who had been listening to the story, both turned blue and stayed close to me… I suddenly had a fundamental question about whether the story I was telling was less terrifying than the children’s books in this world… Somehow after that, when I saw Shine stop arguing and become obedient… It seemed to have a positive effect. Perhaps it was the effect of reading fairy tales, but the children went up early to go to bed, so I had plenty of free time.

Thinking what to do, I decided to look around the house first. Rather than having a purpose, the future was too dark.

‘Anyway, my name has been erased from the case notebook now, but Arbice Green’s name might reappear sometime, wasn’t it?’

Arbice was not even a player, but I didn’t think big things like finding evidence that Lakers was the culprit, or reporting it to the police. But obviously, this mansion was one of the important places to collect evidence and items.

‘It would be nice if I could get my hands on something to protect myself.’

However, as a player of the game, visiting this mansion was a little further in the future, so I didn’t notice any item boxes. All I found while wandering around the duke’s residence was useless information about the Duke’s family. Something like the fact that the DNA of the Duke’s family was very strong and that thanks to this, they had been handsome for generations? The portraits of successive families of the Rearmond family were lined up in the middle of the hallway on the first floor, all of them sighingly handsome and with similar faces.

The atmosphere was alluring, and the lines look thin, but if you look closely, you’ll see that he’s a well-rounded handsome man.

‘Well, then what am I going to do? The face hanging at the end is the face of the killer.’

People were really like that. Back in the days when I just had to play this game in a safe place, I adored a good-looking character enough to even look for secondary creations, but now it’s just creepy and scary. While looking around the mansion, I occasionally stopped and listened. Now I’ve reached the point where I could even distinguish the footsteps that were very distinctive to Lakers’. The sound of the shoe heels sticking neatly without dragging on the floor, and the sound of them falling was getting closer to me.

‘Eww. It’s good for my heart not to run into him if I can.’

I hurriedly made my way around the hallway.
