I'm a Supporting Role in a Horror Game, Don't Kill Me

I was supposed to be a tutor, but it was a temporary measure anyway. Once I had enough money, I was thinking of running away to a place that had nothing to do with murder or the main plot of the game. In order to do that, it seemed that my thoughts would be organized if I simply summarized the things I had to prioritize and the things I needed to be careful about. In the case notebook, there was a list of the next possible victims, which kept bothering me.

‘I have a three-dimensional nose, but I can’t do anything to help others right now…’

Since the inside of this game was so realistic, it was a bit uncomfortable to leave someone alone, even though they knew they were going to die. I flipped back and forth through the case notebook, but nothing new was added. Still, I already knew the various routes, and I was not that ignorant about the development. The goal of surviving seemed far more realistic than catching the criminal.

Originally, it bothered me that Arvice Green was a supporting character who died quickly… I also found out that that point could change depending on the direction Arvice moves.

‘Let’s live as a dead mouse. Then it will be alright.’

Then… A nightmare that I didn’t know how long this would last… No, this situation, where it was no longer possible to distinguish whether it was a dream or reality, would end someday. It should. It could be.

‘I’m a little worried about whether something good will happen by increasing the favorability of a murderer, but…’

Just thinking of Lakers reminded me of that chilling moment of fear when I first met him. I went to bed and lay down, pretending not to know the chilling curiosity entangled in fear. However, the Lakers’ strange gaze and self-talk continued to linger around me.

“You seem to be more fun than I thought.”

‘The fun freezes to death.’

In addition, I was mixed up with worries about being a home teacher, which was not even in the middle of the day, and sleep did not come easily. I was able to close my eyes only around the time dawn broke to soothe my complicated stomach.

* * *

“Miss Arvice Green!”

“Why don’t you wake up? Lazy!”

The next morning, what woke me from being buried in bed was a loud shout. Growing up in a master’s society, the moment I heard the spoiled voices of children who were no more than six or seven years old, I was so dumbfounded that I couldn’t sleep. I lowered my pillow and looked around. A monochromatic ceiling with almost no pattern, a wallpaper full of floral patterns, wooden furniture, and a large garden tree full of trees outside the wide open window… And two blond and silver-haired children were hanging from the wooden pole beside the bed. What was certain was that the morning of Day 2 was bright.

‘I’m still in the game.’

I was sobered up. I slapped my cheeks with both hands and came to my senses, then jumped out of bed.

“Wow! Woke up!”

“And!”

The blond and silver-haired children were Western-style cute, like illustrations in Western children’s books. Their immaculate skin and crystal-like eyes caught the eye. Maybe it would have been a little cuter if they hadn’t climbed onto the bed where people sleep and started running around. It wasn’t that I didn’t feel sorry for these children, who were born in a horror game by chance and even live in a killer’s mansion… Having lived as a young lady, I couldn’t look after them.

It is cute, but I have to stay with them, so even if I have to give up a little liking, I will have to speak honestly.

I broke my face, hardened it, and looked at the two of them.

“Shine, Luna. Who jumps on the bed so rudely?”

The two of them immediately stopped moving at the words that urged them without even a hint of laughter. As if it were the first time they had heard such a scolding, they looked embarrassed.

“Huh?”

“Huh? But…”

I waited for the two of them to get out of bed and stand looking straight at me before I spoke sternly again.

“And it’s not okay to not speak kindly to the teacher, and it’s rude to disturb the teacher’s bed like this, all right?”

“What…”

The blond boy pursed his lips in embarrassment but nodded his head.

“Ahhh…!”

But the silver-haired girl had tears in her eyes at even the slightest scolding. She subsequently fled from me and stood in the doorway after going there. She was so ambitious that she addressed me as “Miss Arvice Green!” or “You are lazy!” and pretended to be offended. Rather than her spoiling, was it that no one was even trying to control these kids? I no longer had the energy to get angry, so I let go of my hardened expression.

“Come on, relax. My teacher is Arvice Green. Shall we, Shine and Luna, introduce ourselves?”

Arvice, Shine, and Luna must have met before. Maybe that’s why the two children looked bewildered at the new self-introduction, but when they saw my expression relaxed, they came back to me, perhaps thinking that the atmosphere had become a bit harmful. At least it was the brother, Shine, who spoke first.

“I am 9 years old, Shine.”

“Hey, I’m 7 years old, Luna.”

Shine, a blonde child who squeaks in short words, and his younger sister, who suddenly decided to use honorific words, seemed to be Luna.

‘Oh, they’re cute.’

Come to think of it, they both look really lovely. Luna, in particular, must have not lost all her breast meat. Her bright red cheeks were plump, her little lips were twitching, and her eyes were blue, and there was a crazy cuteness unique to Western babies. Shine also inherited the blood of this proud family, so she was a gorgeous blonde child, but she looked cuter when she frowned on purpose. I hugged them tightly until they relaxed and stroked their heads one by one. It was cute, but also somewhat pitiful. Even though Shine and Luna must have been seeing Arvice for several days, they couldn’t hide their laughter when their faces turned red. When they were being cute, they pretended to be incredibly offended, up until this point. Were they okay?

“Teacher, aren’t you mad?”

“Teacher, aren’t you mad?”

The two asked with their eyes wide open, as if the sudden change in my attitude was strange, and I nodded my head broadly.

“Then, sensei likes Shine and Luna the most. If you don’t be rude, I won’t get angry.”

“Really?”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

I peeked out at the two messages that popped up one after another.

‘What, it’s easy.’

I thought I would get angry and keep a little more distance, but it seemed that the children had a reasonable mind enough to accept it if it was grounded. Feeling pretty good after stroking the soft hair of the two, I sent the children out to wait in the living room until they washed up and came out. I washed my face with cold water, washed my hair, and opened the closet. As I saw yesterday, it was a closet with nothing much to see. Several plain clothes were lined up, and a well-ironed emerald dress hung separately. I swept the dress once with my hand. The fabric is at least soft, so I think this outfit is only worn on special occasions.

It was an off-the-shoulder dress with no major decorations and a slightly attached mermaid line. Although it is attractive, if I wear it, I believe I will be wearing the same color from head to toe. It’s clothes that seemed to have something going on.

‘I can learn more about the circumstances of the other characters through conversation, but I can’t ask anyone about Arvice’s circumstances.’

Without worrying too much, I chose a tidy-looking red two-piece from among the plain clothes that looked alike and sat down in front of the dressing table. The round wooden comb, as large as the palm of my hand, was good to use. After drying her hair and combing it into a long plait on either side, she looked in the mirror. Clear, deep eyes that glowed white in the sunlight coming in through the window, and light-colored hair that half covered his broad forehead. I didn’t know what the pale white face was thinking. Even after looking in the mirror for a long time, all I could think of was an awkward face and an awkward body, as if I were still wearing someone else’s clothes. As I saw in my profile, I was still 27 years old. Exactly the same age as my original age. I opened and closed my eyes for a long time.

‘Arvice Green is… How long will I live?’

The emerald eyes were looking directly at me, filled with frustration at the situation where they couldn’t find an answer.

‘Is it okay to continue to carve out my own route with the NPC theme? Then what if the story of this horror game itself goes awry and becomes unpredictable?’

I didn’t know. The more I thought about it, the more frustrated I became. Even if I fall asleep and wake up, it only becomes clearer that there is no way to escape the new reality given to me right away. I looked at the case notebook one last time before leaving the room, but Arvice Green’s name did not appear again. It seemed that I could prolong my life for now, but… a character who was meant to die in some way

‘I don’t know what else will happen in the future.’

I caught a glimpse of a woman named Catherine Hunt next to the scrapped articles as a candidate for the next victim, and I sighed and closed the notebook. And carefully hide the notebook under the bottom of the drawer. I straightened my clothes again, ignored the fear that lightly tightened my neck, and took a breath. I reached out and touched the mirror. It was as if Arvice was holding my hand.

“Will it work out somehow?’

I deliberately cut off my thoughts to dispel my fears and woke up with a cloth bag containing the books and class notes I had packed yesterday. Now it was time to get to work. As I was going down the stairs, Mrs. Blier approached me.

“Did you sleep well?”

Her bright smile was a great comfort in this gloomy mansion.

“Thanks.”

“The children are waiting in the dining hall on the second floor. I think we can go and have a meal together.”

‘A breakfast with a murderer… How did I end up doing this?’

“Yes, I will be there soon.”

I let out a sigh while answering.

Sorry for the problems with the schedule. We were migrating the page ^^,
I decided to change some characters name. From Arbitche to Arbice, what do you think? I think Arvice sounds more soft.
