If You Want a Perfect Divorce

“Episode 25”

From their first meeting until now, Rohan had always been speaking and acting mysteriously. What exactly was the purpose of his visit?

“He’s right. A bet. First, let’s talk. I’ve thought about it a lot. What could my sister-in-law want?”

“It’s the same as before. So what’s the conclusion? What did I want?”

“At first, I thought you were pretending not to care, changing deliberately to gain the attention of the people at the Duke’s residence.”

As he trailed off, he smiled slightly. As if knowing something, his eyes flickered as if he was about to make a dangerous proposition.

“But recently, I don’t think that’s the case anymore. Thinking about that made the conclusion clear.”

“I don’t need anyone’s help.”

“No. You will need my help. You love my brother, right?”

His eyes softened.

“…Do I?”

“Even if you deny it, I think you do. Don’t hide your feelings.”

“You speak as if you know me well.”

Even though he didn’t know what had happened between them. Dianna suppressed her rising emotions and looked at him.

“Even if you pretend, it’s probably true. That my sister-in-law loves my brother. So, I’m here to help you.”

“What help did you offer?”

“If your mother gives up on my brother, he’ll come back to his senses. That’s what I want from my sister-in-law. For my mother to choose me instead of my brother.”

“…To come back to his senses. As if he’s not his usual self now.”

Rohan just laughed, seeming to hide something.

“Take a look. Isn’t there something strange? And then you’ll want to join hands with me.”

Seeing him speak with such certainty, Dianna shook her head. She hesitated for a moment because of his mention of Rixio, but she needed to correct it.

“Don’t worry.”

“Yes?”

At her unexpected reaction, Rohan questioned her doubtfully.

“I don’t love him. I’ll make sure of it. And there’s nothing you can do that will change the Duke’s will.”

“Why are you saying that? You don’t have to hide it.”

‘My words are sincere. And if you really want Hysteria’s love, then act accordingly. Don’t come to me like this.’

Dianna wanted to say those words but kept her mouth shut. No matter what she said, Rohan mistakenly believed that she loved Rixio.

‘And… because this person might be a helper.’

Maybe everything Rohan was saying to her was the will of the god.

‘First, I have to make sure.’

Dianna looked at him quietly for a moment before nodding.

“Anyway… I understand. I don’t really know what’s going on, but I’ll check it out, as you said.”

“Good. Sister-in-law.”

“But Rohan, do you believe in God?”

It was partly for confirmation but also out of curiosity. Since God had asked her to find a helper and someone who defied fate without giving any clues, she wondered if this would help.

“God? Come to think of it, I heard that you believe in the Briana god.”

“That’s right. Do you believe in God?”

“Well…”

If that person hadn’t existed, none of this would have started.

“I suppose it’s only natural.”

At his firm statement, Diana let out a small sigh.

“Is it?”

“Don’t worry. He’s not the type to barge into rooms where he’s not welcome.”

Listening to his excuse, Diana just nodded her head.

“I see.”

‘Is it the truth, or… is he lying?’

As she looked at him smiling craftily, Diana began to feel more confused.

“I guess we’ve said all we needed to. You may leave now.”

“Yes. Goodbye.”

Diana didn’t stop Rohan as he climbed out of the window. She locked the door behind him as soon as he crossed over. Then she organized Rohan’s words in her mind.

“I’m still not sure.”

But the likelihood of Rohan being the helper mentioned by the god had increased. She couldn’t find anyone else who was both close enough to approach her and yet so distant and unfamiliar.

‘But it’s too easy to think that way.’

Realizing the answer too easily was making her uncomfortable. Diana sighed deeply and rested her hand on the window. Rohan had already disappeared so quickly that she couldn’t even see him anymore.

“Even if that’s the case… what’s all this talk about Rixio?”

He’s acting strange. Diana remembered Heideia, who had visited her room a few days ago, and Rixio, who had taken her away. But Rixio was the same as always, then and now.

‘He’s not acting strange at all…’

But it was too unsettling to just let it go. She had told Rohan that she didn’t care about Rixio, but somewhere in her heart, she continued to think about him. Confronting this, she sighed.

“He… even after all this time…”

How could she let go of someone she had loved for so long? A heavy feeling settled in her chest. But Diana raised her head as if casting a spell on herself.

“…Even if that’s the case, I won’t love him. So… it doesn’t matter what he does or what he looks like… it’s irrelevant to me.”

Diana didn’t realize it. As if to represent her efforts to deny her feelings, her hands trembled, and her eyes flickered.
