I Will Escape from the 'Flower of Trials'

IWEFTFOT Chapter 3.3

I looked pathetically at Park Eun-woo and Cha Ye-bin, who were arguing in front of the car.

“I wish you both just shut up and get going. I’ll get in first.”

I opened the passenger door and climbed in, leaving the two of them alone, who were about to continue their wasteful argument over who should sit next to me. Park Eunwoo and Cha Yebin looked at each other for a moment, then both grabbed the

driver’s door at the same time, without a word.

“Let go.”

“You, Mr. Park.”

“Once again, I want you to know that me and Ye-ryun don’t have to go all the way to Busan. Its just because of you, Cha Yebin, that we’re taking our time to follow you.”

“I don’t remember calling you Mr. Park Eunwoo!”

“Ye-ryun is going, how can I let her go alone?”

“I’m going with her, so she won’t be going alone!”

“Ha, then what are you going to do after you find Ms. Seo Ri? What would Ms. Cha do between Ms. Seo Ri and you?”

“…….”

Cha Yebin shut up, and Park Eunwoo sat in the driver’s seat with a proud face as the victor. Cha Yebin climbed into the backseat and slammed the door, expressing his displeasure. I looked at his face in the rearview mirror, and his eyes narrowed as he looked back and forth between Park Eunwoo and me. That’s a big pout.

“You’ve been drinking anyway. What’s the point of arguing when you can’t even drive?”

“Then why don’t we let Ye ryun ride in the backseat with you-”

“No. You smell like alcohol.”

“…….”

Cha Yebin hung his head sullenly. As he mumbled something about wanting his lovely sister back, I withdrew my attention without hesitation.

“Let’s go.”

“Ah, Mr. Ye Ryun. You should belt up.”

Park Eunwoo’s body leaned towards me. The situation from earlier was repeated once again. He was so close that I could feel his breath.

It was the same thing he’d done before he drove me back to the mansion. But there was a subtle difference from then…….

“Hey, Mr. Park, why are you so close to her just to fasten her seat belt?”

This was an act that would piss off Cha Yebin, who was sitting behind him. Cha Yebin, who had been sagging like a puppy with his tail between his legs, became angry again.

Park blatantly laughed at him as he struggled in the car, begging him to get off me. Then slowly, very slowly, he pulled away from me.

“Huh.”

“Now, you are pissing him off, did you do that on purpose to make him fight with you?!”

Cha Yebin, who caught Park Eunwoo’s sneer, beat his chest in frustration. Park Eunwoo had taken advantage of Cha Yebin’s obsession with his sister, taking advantage of his sister complex.

Watching that scene, I thought to myself. Just as Cha ye-ryun hates Han Seo-ri, shouldn’t Park Eun-woo hate Cha Ye-bin? I had to figure out when and how the Flower of Trials would stamp down on my rebellion with sanctions.

If I could avoid that, at least I wouldn’t have to deal with the people I was attached to turning on me.

So I experimented with big and small deviations, with lines and situations that didn’t fit the drama, and I figured it out. An

absolute proposition that I, Cha Ye-ryun, could not refuse.

‘Cha Ye-ryun is against Cha Ye-bin and Han Seo-ri’s marriage.

‘Cha Ye ryun will interfere with Cha Yebin and Han Seo’s love.

‘Cha hates Han Seo-ri and torments her thoroughly. As long as I didn’t violate this, I was able to touch the drama a little bit. So, the way I bullied Han-seo-ri, the way I treated my family, the way I treated people around me, and so on, I was only able to touch them in small ways that didn’t have a big impact. If Park Eun Woo is a real person like me, and if he’s constrained like me by the sanctions of the Flower of Trials, would he have such absolutes?’

‘Will his dislike for Cha Ye-bin by his behavior as Park Eun-woo, or is he fulfilling the imperative he has to fulfill as a person like me?’

“Ms. Ye-ryun. Don’t just look at the window, look at me.”

“Why does my sister have to look at Mr. Park? Just leave her alone.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Did you just say no?!”

I took my eyes off the window and glared at Park Eunwoo, who was arguing with Cha Yebin. If he was really like me, what was his point? These questions were answered when I arrived in Busan and encountered a chill in the air. The absolute imperative that Park Eun-woo must fulfill in Flower of Trials is,

“Park Eun-woo cannot deny Han Seo-ri from what she wants.”

* * *

A familiar scene emerges: a woman walks slowly along the beach, her white dress fluttering in the breeze. Her light brownishblack hair was disheveled by the breeze. She paused to look up at the sky as she tidied her disheveled hair with one hand and tucked it behind her ear. A man busking with his speakers turned up loudly and played a soothing song over the crashing waves. The wistful look on her face, as if she were deep in thought, made her seem even more like a woman with a story. I’m sure. That scene must have a very sad OST playing in a drama.

“……Its her!.”

“Poof!”

Park Eun-woo, who was looking at Han-seo-ri from the side, splashed the water he was drinking at Cha Ye-bin. Cha Yebin,

who had been looking at Han Seori in a pensive and wistful mood, jumped up and down and shook off the splashed water on the hem of his clothes.

“What are you laughing at, can’t you see I’m all wet, ugh, dirty!”

Park Eunwoo started laughing hesitantly, and Cha Ye Bin started scolding him with a red face. I felt sorry for myself for having to bring these people to Han Seo ri. Leaving Park Eun-woo laughing and Cha Ye-bin fussing, I walked briskly toward Han Seo ri, where the monks were busy shivering.

“Yes, Ryun, you come with me……!”

“Ye-ryun, wait, wait!”

Park Eun Woo, who still hadn’t stopped laughing, and Cha Ye Bin, who hadn’t finished dusting off his clothes, grabbed me, but I shrugged them off. I don’t know about Han Seo-ri and Cha Ye-bin, the main characters of this drama, but I have a meeting with an important buyer tomorrow.

I don’t have time to hang around here, I’ll just grab her and drag her back.

“Hello, Ms. Han.”

Han Seo-ri, who had been looking up at the sky in a mood, looked up at me in surprise at the sound of my voice. Her face showed surprise and a hint of disappointment. Was she disappointed because it was not Cha Yebin nor Park Eun-woo that she was expecting, and Cha ye-ryun was standing in front of her?

“Oh, I guess I should call you sister, sorry, sorry. I’m not ready to accept a sister who I didn’t even know existed yet. You have to understand that, sis.”

“How do you know that I was here?”

“Oh my God, you’re scaring me. Stop glaring at me like that and let’s be friendly now. We’re going to be family, just like I said.”

“I didn’t want to be family with you like that!”

“That’s just like me. I dont think you’re my family too, and I don’t want you in my house.”

Han Seo ri glared at me with a blank face and clenched her fists.

“How did you know to come here, and why are you in front of me?”

“I didn’t choose to come.”
