I Will Become the Queen of the Enemy Country

Temptation and Shaking

“Im, im, immediate departure?”

Malcolm was startled.

“Your Highness, you’re telling us sages to depart immediately without a word? We have preparations to make too…”

Amber expressed his immediate disapproval. David wore a gentle smile, as if he had anticipated his opposition.

“Sage Amber, you’re being modest. I presume you’ve already finished your preparations. You’re a meticulous person, aren’t you? And what’s the need to be together from the start? Can the speed of the magicians be compared to that of the knights? Even if we depart half a day early, you sages won’t be unable to catch up.”

His words were so reasonable that Amber closed his mouth.

Lange was quite pleased with the situation being led by David. Moreover, he was overjoyed that even the weapons he thought he had lost were safe.

He was about to make a fool of himself in front of the Prince of Tetris, but he avoided that situation, so Lange was happy to accept any request from David.

“We’ve prepared a departure ceremony.”

The only regret was that they couldn’t hold the grand departure ceremony they had prepared for David.

“Please prepare a grand welcome ceremony. We will conquer the gate and return.”

David spoke with unprecedented vigor. Lange’s nostrils flared as he held back a joyful laugh.

“Prepare something so grand that the word ‘grand’ seems modest.”

And so, David’s subjugation force quietly departed.

***

David’s subjugation force was a large army compared to the first gate subjugation force.

There were 100 royal knights, 15 warriors including Karan, five support magicians from the Ivory Tower, and about 50 servants.

“You’ve worked hard preparing.”

Elise admired the long line of people stretching out at dawn.

Despite the urgency, David’s ability to quickly prepare this many people – even 30 supply wagons – deserved praise.

“Tetris, who conquered the gate with fewer numbers, is more remarkable. Our large army is embarrassing.”

David was modest.

“The situation is just different.”

Elise also gave a polite answer.

“Shouldn’t we go back to our places now?”

Karan intervened between the two.

David had come to thank Elise for her excellent insight.

But if he started to greet her, the conversation would obviously get longer.

He kept his mouth shut, itching to ask how Elise had seen through Iris’s scheme.

“See you at the camp.”

David promised. He immediately drove his horse to the front.

Soon, the rider raised the flag high in the sky. It was a flag depicting a laurel wreath, symbolizing Bedrokka.

Next to it, the flag of the Ivory Tower soared. It was a flag with an owl, a symbol of wisdom.

“Those guys didn’t even prepare our flag, did they?”

Haltbin raised his voice. The treatment was terrible even though they were the ones who had asked for help. They were treated worse than mercenaries bought with money. There was even no support at all.

“Did you think you would receive great treatment? It’s only been a day or two.”

Karan looked at Elise. Elise’s cheeks turned red.

Seeing that she cared about what Haltbin was saying, Karan nudged the calf of Tetris’s rider.

The rider of Tetris quickly raised the flag.

Although the flag was small in proportion to the number of people, the brave pattern of a lion raising its front paw was as majestic as any other flag.

Next, another rider in line raised a flag embroidered with a silver wolf.

“Depart!”

David’s voice echoed through a large loudspeaker to the back.

The horses kicked the ground and rushed out, followed by the infantry. When the long line of wagons left the palace gate, it was exactly one hour after the departure order was given.

There was someone who watched the long line without moving.

As soon as the last wagon left the gate, the person who had been watching pulled the curtain sharply. His hand was full of irritation.

“Your Highness, will you stay still?”

“Iris, what more can I do here?”

“We have to try something. I’ll think of a plan.”

“You? Please don’t think about anything. I mean, don’t do anything.”

Chase, who had been holding the window frame, turned his body abruptly. Iris trembled at the rough shout that burst out.

Iris put down the teacup she was holding. She quickly pretended to be calm.

“Should a person who does great things not accept minor failures? We haven’t been harmed.”

“The armory was burned down. How many of His Majesty’s knights died? Is that all? Because your and my names were mentioned in the council, His Majesty will restrain me more. Is this not damage?”

“Your Highness only knows one thing and doesn’t know two.”

Iris tilted her head as if she didn’t understand the agitated Chase.

Her brazen expression and unrepentant attitude angered Chase. Chase’s fist-clenched hand trembled.

“Your Highness, calm down and listen to my story. First of all, Your Highness hasn’t suffered any damage, right? Yes, His Majesty’s knights died. So what damage has Your Highness suffered? Surely you’re not sorry that His Majesty’s knights died?”

Iris’s smile deepened.

“Those people are not yours yet, Your Highness. If you do something against His Majesty’s will, they are the ones who will thrust a sword under your neck. The fewer the number, the better.”

Iris’s logic was strange. Yet, if you were to weigh the pros and cons, she wasn’t wrong.

But it was hard to readily accept her words. Because it was inhumane.

Iris stood up from her seat. She approached Chase and held his trembling hand.

Chase lifted his eyes.

“Your Highness, steady your heart. The seat you desire is not for just anyone to sit. Do you still need to care about trivial people? And you mentioned His Majesty’s restraint on you? However, on the contrary, you’ve stamped your approval on the nobles and sages. It’s about what you have. You have me and the relatives of the Worton family, don’t you?”

Chase’s eyes narrowed. His mind raced.

Was Iris right?

The gaze of the nobles who were shaken when he stepped forward to solve the problem came to mind.

And David, who looked as if he had been pricked when he heard his words.

“Your Highness, I can do anything for you. Trust me.”

Iris’s hands were warm. Her gaze was affectionate.

“Why… are you trying to put me on the throne? It won’t be an easy task. Aren’t you able to have whatever you want even without becoming the queen?”

From the very beginning, she had not hidden her ambitions from Chase. The subject of her ambitions was Chase.

To put Chase on the throne.

She claimed that what she was doing was for Chase’s sake. Spending time on dates, attending social gatherings, demanding gifts from Chase–she said it was all for Chase.

‘Soon, she’ll even say that breathing is for my sake.’

He had known someone similar before. Elise had been like that in the past. But Iris and Elise were different.

The sincerity that he had felt from Elise was not present in Iris.

“Your Highness, don’t you know? Fulfilling the dreams of the man you love is a woman’s greatest happiness.”

Iris leaned her forehead against Chase’s chest.

Her sweet, melting voice, her soft, clinging body –all of this was suitable to soothe Chase’s taut, tense nerves.

“Your Highness, your muscles are so tense. I’ll bring good oil. Shall I give you a massage?”

“Iris’s hand slipped through Chase’s shirt. Iris, who was caressing his smooth and firm abdomen, looked up.

“Please let me do it.”

Chase narrowed his eyes and stared through Iris. He was torn between whether he could trust Iris completely or if he should be cautious.

His hesitation was clearly visible in Iris’s eyes as well.

‘Being sensitive without being capable is useless.’

Iris cursed Chase inwardly. On the outside, she was a woman who seemed to be in love, but inside, she was struggling.

“We can’t change the past. If Your Highness didn’t like my way…I’m sorry. But we still need to be together in the future, and the opportunity is too good to let slip away. We must look forward.”

Iris’s hand, which had been wandering around Chase’s abdomen, slowly slipped beneath his navel to a more intimate place.

“Stop overthinking, Your Highness. Let’s change our position.”

Iris raised the heat in her palm and glanced towards the bed.

Standing like a statue, Chase looked down at Iris. She didn’t miss the heat in his eyes.

‘Men, after all.’

Internally mocking Chase, Iris put on a kind smile.

“It’s like spilled water. Let go of the past, Your Highness.”

Iris whispered incessantly.

“Only then can we think about the future, right?”

Chase’s heart wavered under her seduction.

Although he still had doubts about Iris’s sincerity, he willingly accepted her touch.

Chase had always been like that. Greedy and susceptible to temptation.

Thanks to Elise who had skillfully suppressed those instincts, he hadn’t made any major mistakes.

“Your Highness, lie down.”

Iris laid Chase on the bed.

The contrast between her innocent face and her provocative touch stimulated Chase’s masculinity.

Iris straddled Chase’s waist, shyly swaying her body as she loosened the straps of her dress.

“It would be best if Your Highness did it.”

She slightly bit her lower lip. Chase couldn’t take his eyes off Iris’s face and her hands.

“For Your Highness, who has worked hard from the banquet to the meeting.”

The dress slid down, revealing Iris’s porcelain-like skin to Chase’s eyes.

“I will do it.”

There was no need to ask what. Iris immediately pressed her voluptuous body against Chase.

When Elise left for the dangerous land, Chase found solace in Iris’s embrace.

“Your Highness, entrust everything to me. Everything. I am ready to give up everything for you.”

“Haa…”

Iris’s whispers took deep root in Chase’s mind.

***

The movement of the subjugation force went smoothly.

There were those whose feet were blistered and who complained of dizziness due to exhaustion, but they managed to overcome it.

Three days after leaving the royal palace, the sages joined, and on the fifth day, they finally arrived at the gate entrance.

The sound of dry wood burning crackled. A fierce heat surged.

The hot air dried the inside of their throats and noses.

Clothes soaked in sweat dried up in an instant.

The second gate was fully opened.

The ruler of fire, Salamander, had fully awakened.

    Thank you for the chapter!❤️‍🔥

I don’t believe Iris will need 10 years to become as evil as she was in Elise’s first life. And Chase may have strength and skills, but mentally, he is a weakling. I suppose he and Iris are a good match to drag each other down completely.
