I Will Become the Queen of the Enemy Country

Should I Just Give Up

Karan woke up to a tickling sensation on the back of his hand.

Looking down, he saw Elise, who had fallen asleep with her head resting on his hand.

‘What a sight to wake up to.’

Elise was clutching Karan’s hand as if it were a lifeline. Karan couldn’t take his eyes off Elise, with her cheek squished against his hand.

A desire to wake her up stirred within him. Karan covered his mouth with his hand to prevent himself from acting on it.

He didn’t want to disturb Elise’s peaceful sleep.

No, it wasn’t for Elise’s sake.

Karan wanted to feel the softness of Elise’s skin a little longer. He wished for this moment of contact with her to last longer.

It was pure selfishness.

“…Mmm, Karan… Don’t get hurt. I’ll protect you. I’ll do anything…”

Elise mumbled something, her eyes still closed.

What kind of person was he in her dream that Elise promised to protect him like a warrior?

‘Am I a weakling?’

Despite his annoyance, he was insanely jealous of his dream self.

“Karan…Say something…”

Elise was willing to do anything, but it looks like his dream self seemed too lazy or stupid to open his mouth.

So Karan spoke up instead.

“How about you come here and lie down with me?”

Karan thought that it was a pity that Elise had fallen asleep.

“Is that okay?”

It seemed like sleep-talking, as the conversation with Elise was flowing naturally.

“Yes, that’s fine.”

Karan wanted to do something more, but it would be dangerous and inappropriate to do something risky to the unconscious Elise.

But most of all, Karan wanted her to know who exactly was caressing her hand, licking her tongue, and who had deeply penetrated her heart.

So, Karan decided to do all the messy things she could think of when she was sober.

“Yes…I understand…”

Elise answered softly.

However, instead of lying down next to Karan, she fell into a deep sleep. Her breathing sounded like the singing of angels.

“Elise?”

Elise didn’t even move.

Karan chuckled and got up. He carefully took his hand from Elise’s grasp.

Then, he gently hugged her and laid her down on the bed.

Of course, he took his place by Elise’s side.

Elise would be surprised when she woke up.

But he was just helping her keep her promise.

Lying side by side, Karan felt a sense of satisfaction. At the same time, the need to touch, to burrow inside her, reared its ugly head.

Should it be blamed on the dream, that she’d promised herself, and just do it?

Karan looked at Elise’s eyelashes, which were spread out like a fan.

He wanted to see Elise’s innocent eyes fluttering in embarrassment. He wanted to hear Elise calling his name with all her might, with tears in her eyes.

‘Shall I?’

If just let it happen…how can that be possible?

Karan turned his body around to strengthen his fleeting patience.

He distanced himself from Elise to the point where only a faint warmth could be felt.

“Mm…cold.”

Elise murmured. Then, her forehead touched Karan’s back.

Instinctively, Elise held onto Karan’s waist, seeking warmth.

‘Damn it!’

Felt very good. But I’m going crazy

“Smooth, firm. Like Karan.”

Elise’s hand traced Karan’s soft stomach. Her breath tickled Karan’s back, like a soft feather.

“Elise, you have bad hands.”

Karan sighed. He had to stop her, but it wasn’t easy to do so.

Karan felt a pressure on his lower abdomen. Elise’s hand stopped.

“It’s harder now. Amazing.”

What on earth is she dreaming about? What is she touching in her dream?

Elise’s warmth and breath were overwhelming. It was a stimulation that was hard to resist.

Elise’s hand started to wander around Karan’s stomach again.

Ha. Karan let out a sigh. He thought, taking in a deep breath filled with heat.

Just a little more…down there.

Karan clenched the blanket tightly.

‘You crazy, pull yourself together!’

Karan felt the urge to slap himself for having such a vulgar thought.

Karan recalled the tedious history of the vast continent that he had learned in his childhood.

He went over the long names of heroes that he didn’t want to know about hundreds of times.

As he did, his shaky rationality barely returned.

Karan took a deep breath and held Elise’s hand, which had stopped. Elise’s hand twitched.

Karan’s eyes narrowed.

‘Could it be?’

Karan let go of her hand and slowly turned her body. Elise also turned with his pace.

Elise’s neck and ears were red. Karan’s lips traced a beautiful curve.

“Elise, did you wake up?”

Her back tensed up. Karan hugged her shoulders and turned her around. Elise, with her eyes tightly closed, was so cute.

“Elise, when did you wake up?”

She pressed her lips together, as if she were worried about answering.

Karan wanted to devour those lips. Even the wrinkles on her lips seemed lovable.

“Elise, are you still sleeping?”

Elise’s hand that was tightly grasping the blanket, exerted force. Karan barely swallowed the laughter that threatened to escape and climbed on top of her.

“Then keep sleeping. This is just a dream.”

Karan whispered in Elise’s ear, bending his body. He thought they were having a conversation, even though Elise’s mouth was closed.

Every time Karan spoke, Elise’s expression changed slightly. Her eyebrows twitched, and her eyelashes fluttered.

“Elise.”

Karan’s well-defined back muscles twitched. It was the moment when Karan was about to kiss Elise’s neck.

“Karan…I’m awake.”

Finally, Elise opened her eyes. If she hadn’t woken up, she would have been stuck to the bed all night.

She also wanted to check Karan’s state.

“Ah, awake.”

Karan said with a deep sense of regret and rested his forehead on Elise’s shoulder.

“Your Highness, I need to check your condition…”

“Just a moment, Elise…I need time…”

Fortunately, Karan didn’t specify how much time was needed.

Elise’s cheeks turned red, as if they were about to burst, from the strong presence she felt near her thighs.

“Everything is perfectly fine. You’re so healthy it’s surprising.”

At Leber’s diagnosis, a smile spread across Elise’s face. Karan couldn’t take his eyes off her, it had been a while since he’d seen her smile.

“What about Elise?”

Leber opened his mouth as if he was fed up with looking at Karan.

He had examined Elise four times in an hour.

“If you can’t trust me, I’ll call another doctor.”

When he requested a re-examination, he thought it was because he was worried about Elise. He complied when the third examination was requested, considering the situation.

He did the fourth examination with the mindset that it would be the last.

But a fifth examination request! And that too, just within an hour!

It’s a request that can’t be made unless you don’t trust him. Leber packed his medical bag. His hands were careful as he packed his tools, but his expression was very fierce.

If you can’t trust me, why call me? Am I the only doctor in Dex territory? It’s not like I’m doing a test.

“I don’t distrust you.”

Karan said to Leber, who was grumbling to himself.

“Huh?”

Leber, who hadn’t heard properly, answered with dissatisfaction.

“I said, I don’t distrust you.”

It sounded like he was saying he trusted him. Karan’s acknowledgement!

He was a great warrior who had conquered the 1st Gate!

‘Geniuses recognize geniuses.’

Leber’s self-esteem grew like bean sprouts.

“Well… if you trust me…”

Leber put down the medical bag he had been holding. Then he approached Elise and held out his hand.

“Leber, I’m fine.”

“I know. But just to check.”

Elise found the current situation very amusing. Nevertheless, she held out her hand. Because Karan was staring at her from the side.

Despite being the fifth examination, Leber did his best.

“You’re healthy. To the point where even if everyone else catches a cold, you wouldn’t.”

“What? Are you saying I had a cold?”

“No! I mean, even if everyone else catches a cold, Elise wouldn’t because she’s so healthy.”

Anyway, it was unusual.

Although he was happy to receive Karan’s acknowledgement, Leber quickly packed his bag, thinking that if he stayed here, he would be doing the same thing all day.

“I’ll be going now. I have things to do!”

Leber quickly left.

“You heard, Your Highness?”

“I should be the one asking, Elise. Did you hear how healthy I am? So, shall we continue what we couldn’t do this morning?”

Karan got up from his seat and put his hand on Elise’s cheek.

In the morning, Elise had rejected Karan’s desire because of his health.

Now that she had confirmed his health with Leber, there was no reason to push him away any further.

‘But it’s so broad daylight…’

Even if the curtains were closed, everything would be clearly visible. Elise was embarrassed by that.

“Until night…”

“Isn’t it too much to ask me to wait? Do you know how long I’ve been waiting? From the moment you fell asleep until now.”

Karan’s nose brushed against Elise’s cheek. He closed his eyes and breathed slowly. The air heated up in an instant.

At this rate, she felt like she would soon be unable to distinguish whether the sofa they were sitting on was a bed, whether it was day or night, and would mix her body with his.

But what Elise was worried about did not happen.

“Your Highness!”

The door swung open, and someone appeared to interrupt them.

“His Majesty has sent a letter!”

It was Haltbin, who had brought news from the capital.

As soon as Karan conquered the gate, he sent a letter to Tyllo.

It was a kind of deal, saying that since he had achieved a feat, he should give a reward commensurate with it.

There was only one thing Karan demanded.

[I’ll gladly become your shining accessory, so please allow me to marry Elise.]

The letter contained the answer to that. Karan kissed Elise’s cheek and immediately tore open the letter.

While Karan was reading the letter, Elise and Haltbin held their breath.

Karan had been looking at the single-page letter for over ten minutes. His expression was not bright either.

It was possible to guess that it contained important content or content that was difficult for Karan to accept.

“Your Highness, what’s the matter?”
