TSPCOB I Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Click. The moment the button was pressed, the crystal orb floated into the air.

It quickly expanded to the size of a large mirror, and then a video began to play.

[“Huff, my lord… what if someone sees us?”]

[“There’s no one around here. Ugh… Rachel, I can’t hold back anymore. Spread your legs.”]

Gasps echoed through the guests as the image of two naked lovers tangled together filled the orb.

“Oh my, how disgraceful!”

Noble ladies, who had been sitting with grace, suddenly covered their faces in shock.

Male nobles awkwardly cleared their throats, sneaking glances at the orb.

While everyone’s attention was glued to the scene, someone in the crowd shouted loudly.

“Wait, isn’t that the groom, Lord Alex?”

“It does look like him! Then who’s the woman on top of him? She doesn’t look like the bride.”

“…No way! Isn’t that the bridesmaid?!”

“Are you saying the groom had an affair with the bride’s younger sister?!”

The whispers turned into gasps, followed by a chorus of “Oh my god—” spreading like a wave.

Cold, judging stares—especially from the noblewomen—stabbed at Rachel like knives.

“Mmhp!” Rachel clamped her hand over her mouth, her eyes shaking like a storm-tossed sea.

What the hell is this?!

The entire video showed her secret meetings with Alex.

Shocked, Rachel quickly covered her face.

But then a thought crept in—Why should I panic?

The video quality wasn’t very clear.

Which meant, technically, there was no proof that the woman in the video was her.

Rachel’s drooping lips suddenly curled into a smirk.

So she knew all along, and was gathering evidence in secret? What a shady woman. You think I’ll just take this lying down?

Rachel, who had her head down, now raised her eyes, filled with false hurt.

“This is a setup! That woman in the video isn’t me!”

Guests began whispering, unsure. The video was blurry, but the hair color and eye color matched.

Still, she was being so bold about it, it was hard to believe she was lying.

“My sister is jealous. She always had this weird obsession and made fake videos to accuse me! She’s framing me!”

Just as the crowd was starting to waver, Aselin smiled and turned up the orb’s volume.

[“Haah, Alex—doesn’t it feel way better with Rachel than with my sister?”]

Rachel’s breathy moans echoed through the hall, followed by gasps and intimate sounds.

“Her voice and face are a perfect match. Can they even fake that?”

“No, that’s a magic device from the Western Continent. It’s impossible to fake—it’s even used in court.”

“So, she not only had an affair with her sister’s husband, but also called her mentally ill?”

“This is total social suicide!”

The crowd’s mood turned ice cold, pressing down like a weight on Rachel.

“Ugh!” Rachel gagged, clamping her hand over her mouth.

As she tried to run away, Aselin grabbed her arm.

“You should stay till the end. You’re the star of this show, after all.”

Rachel glared at Aselin and struggled to break free.

But Aselin’s hand was firm, like a barnacle.

Rachel had never worked a day in her life, while Aselin’s hands were hardened from fieldwork.

At that moment, Alex walked up with a twisted face.

Rachel looked at him with pitiful eyes, expecting him to defend her.

But Alex didn’t even glance at her.

He snatched the crystal orb from Aselin and turned it off.

“Are you crazy?! Where did you even get this trash to ruin my wedding?!”

He shouted like his throat was being squeezed.

“I didn’t do anything wrong! It was all Rachel—she seduced me!”

Rachel looked at him, shocked beyond words.

He only cared about his reputation, not what happened to her.

As Rachel stared in disbelief, Aselin gently shoved her toward Alex.

Then she whispered in Rachel’s ear:

“You’ve finally met your soulmate. Congratulations. This trash is yours now.”

Rachel’s eyes widened in rage as she stared at Aselin.

She no longer had the energy to fake innocence. Her emerald eyes blazed with raw hatred.

Aselin met her gaze calmly, lifting one corner of her mouth in a smirk.

She threw off her cape, revealing a sparkling pink dress beneath the sunlight.

Gasps spread through the crowd again.

“Oh my god, look at that! Why is the bridesmaid wearing the same dress as the bride?”

“And that sapphire brooch on her chest, the red ribbon around her waist… Isn’t that the same dress worn by Katrina, the mistress of Bertha II?”

“You’re right! The one who poisoned the Empress and stole the Emperor—Katrina the Wicked!”

When the infamous story of Katrina—hated by all the women of the empire—was mentioned, noble ladies began rising from their seats in fury.

“At least Katrina wasn’t her sister’s husband’s mistress! This is straight-up ***!”

They began scolding Rachel with pointed fingers and harsh words.

Aselin calmly smiled and announced to the audience:

“Please congratulate Lord Alex and my sister on their wedding. As for me, the bridesmaid, I shall now take my leave.”

With that, Aselin turned and walked away down the wedding aisle.

But a red-faced Alex ran after her and yanked her wrist.

“Who gave you permission? You’re marrying me! You’ll stay in the baron’s house till you die!”

“Am I crazy? Why would I live twice with trash like you?”

Her cold words made Alex’s face twist in rage. He threw the crystal orb to the floor.

Crash! The shards flew up, cutting Aselin’s cheek.

Ignoring her injury, Alex stomped on the crystal’s remains until they turned to powder.

“You really don’t get it unless I beat it into you, huh?!”

He lunged, grabbing Aselin by the throat.

As she gasped for breath—

“Let go of her. Now.”

A cold, low voice cut through the tension like a knife.

Alex’s eyes widened as he recognized the speaker.

He quickly let go and stepped back.

In the stunned silence, Claude strode forward.

With a long stride, he quickly crossed the carpet and stopped in front of Aselin.

Time seemed to freeze as he gently took her wrist.

“Aselin.”

His low, husky voice and intense gaze locked onto her.

With a face like one from a fairytale and eyes that seemed to see through her soul, Claude made the onlooking women blush.

“Your Highness, Aselin is my wife. Even a prince shouldn’t meddle in a couple’s matters.”

Alex gritted through his teeth, his eyes bloodshot.

Claude’s eyes turned sharp and deadly in an instant.

Murderous intent flickered in his crimson gaze.

“How is she your wife? You’ve broken your vow. This marriage is invalid.”

“But, Your Highness, I love her! And she loves me too!”

At Alex’s shameless words, Claude’s lips curled into a cold smile.

He gently wiped the blood from Aselin’s cheek with his thumb.

“Is that true?”

“No. I don’t love Alex. In fact, I truly despise him.”

Her answer was cold and immediate.

Alex bit his lip in disbelief.

The once-naïve girl who only looked at him—why had she changed?

If it was just a single affair, why such a reaction?

His father always said real men needed many women.

So, Alex shook his head. He couldn’t have done anything wrong.

Aselin was just being too sensitive.

Which meant, if he just talked her into it, she’d come back.

She had to.

That was the only way his plans would work.

With desperate eyes, Alex tried to cling to her again.

But Claude boldly pulled Aselin into a close embrace.

Their faces were nearly touching.

“I grant you permission to take your revenge.”

His low voice melted into her ear.
