I Stole the Heroine's Holy Grail

The marquis reached out to me with a quite fatherly expression. But I know what kind of face is hidden under that mask.

I hesitated as I stared at that smile.

Should I just run away like this?

But then the guards will come and catch me.

I narrowed my eyes and looked at my father and Sizelon.

Sizelon smiled triumphantly, as if he knew there was nowhere for me to run.

The Grand Duke, who had been silent at that time, suddenly stood in front of me as if blocking me from the Marquis and his son.

I blinked and looked up at the Grand Duke at his sudden action.

“Your highness?”

“Adelia.”

The Grand Duke called my name softly and sighs.

Then he looked towards the emperor. At first glance, I could feel his dissatisfaction with the emperor.

“I can’t help it now. But wait for me, I will pick you up soon.”

I was surprised after hearing those words.

Are you going to help me again?

I don’t understand.

I am no longer a saint “candidate”. So, there is no reason for the Grand Duke to do me such a favor.

Perhaps he had noticed my thoughts, the Grand Duke raised the corners of his lips smoothly and spoke.

“Because I have made a promise to you.”

At that moment, I remembered him making an oath before we left Rohen.

Is he going to keep that oath?

Then… I’m going to believe it once.

I nodded with a stiff face.

“Okay, I’ll trust you.”

It was only then that a light smile was formed around the mouth of Grand Duke Hamilton.

“I’ll do my best to repay your trust.”

After saying that, the Grand Duke walked past me.

He looked at the marquis and left with heavy footsteps.

The Marquis looked at me suspiciously.

He was suspicious of the conversation between the Grand Duke and I.

I moved forward with a smirk.

“Good. Marquis. I don’t know what you want to talk about, but I’ll listen.”

“That’s a good idea. Let’s go back home.”

He, who just had a suspicious look on his face, nodded his head with a little satisfaction.

Maybe he thinks I accepted his words as I always did.

‘I feel bad, but there is no need to correct it.’

His carelessness would be a good opportunity for me.

As I walked after the Marquis, I saw a carriage engraved with the Sorne family pattern.

“Get on.”

“I was going to ride it even if you didn’t urge me.”

I got into the carriage with a hypocritical smile.

The Marquis and Sizelon didn’t seem to like what I said, but they didn’t add anything.

As the carriage moved, I looked at the sky through the window.

The clear sky without a single cloud reminded me of Rohen.

Is this Deja vu?

I have experienced a similar feeling a long time ago.

One day, when I suddenly opened my eyes in this body, I longed to go back to my original world for a while.

I searched through various books and myths, day and night, looking for a way.

However, the will to go back disappeared after a short period of time.

Because I realized that I couldn’t go back no matter what I did.

At that time, I was terribly homesick.

I was wondering if I could live a comfortable life now.

A headache that shook my head came again.

I closed my eyes gently and took a deep breath.

I’m going to leave this freaking place and go back to Rohen.

As I was making up my mind, I immediately remembered what had happened in the subspace of the holy sphere.

Everything stopped like a lie.

Is this really my ability? Or was it an inexplicable miracle?

At that moment, I had an illusion that made the center of my chest heat up.

If I could use this ability on my own, I could ruin the marquis.

There’s nothing wrong with trying it once.

With my eyes narrowed, I looked at the two men who were holding a solemn atmosphere.

But that gaze was soon withdrawn.

Life is too short to see the beautiful things. So, there is no need to look hard at dirty things.

The carriage quickly ran toward the marquis mansion.

“Why did you do that?”

When Adelia exited the palace with the Marquis Sorne, only the Emperor and the Grand Duke remained in the auditorium.

Ivan asked, showing his unfiltered dissatisfaction.

The emperor shrugged his shoulders and said as if asking what was the problem.

“There’s no reason to get involved with her anymore.”

“Your Majesty.”

“This. You look angry. Why are you putting all your heart and soul into her work?”

Ivan’s lips stiffened for a moment at the emperor’s question.

Ivan couldn’t answer right away.

After thinking for a while, Ivan slowly opened his mouth.

“There’s something I need to confirm.”

“Confirm?”

“Yes. I can’t tell you right now, but there is something I want to confirm.”

“Hmm.”

The young emperor touched his chin and looked at his younger brother, who behaved differently than usual today.

He was Ivan’s older brother before he was emperor.

Even though they were half-brothers, the emperor was quite fond of Ivan.

The emperor finally sighed and had no choice but to raise the white flag.

“I can’t help it because you’re so stubborn.”

Only then did Ivan’s mouth relax softly.

“Just one piece of advice.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“Don’t get too involved. I have a bad feeling.”

Ivan could not give a definite answer to his brother’s advice.

He simply withheld an answer in silence.

The emperor said briefly, biting his tongue.

“Alright. Let’s have a meal before you go.”

“I’m sorry, but a meal…”

“If you refuse, I think I will have to reconsider.”

“…….”

Ivan’s eyes narrowed. Because of the emperor’s childish behavior.

However, the emperor did not want to miss dinner with his younger brother, who had not visited in a long time.

Ivan was well aware of the characteristics of the emperor and his brother, Theo Daivon Huizeniac.

He never makes deals that only cost him to lose.

In the end, Ivan had no choice but to accept the emperor’s request after a long silence.

“… all right.”

“Well…”

The emperor smiled contentedly, thinking that he had made a good deal.

“We’re here. “

“Get off.”

Sizelon got off the carriage first and reached out to me.

I looked down at the hand and chuckled.

You’re doing something that doesn’t suit you.

I relentlessly ignored the Marquis’ son’s escort and got off the carriage by myself.

I could feel Sizelon, who had been suddenly ignored, sending a sharp gaze behind my back.

But I didn’t care and didn’t look back.

“Let’s go in.”

The Marquis immediately led me to the drawing room.

As soon as I sat in the chair, I asked immediately.

“So, what do you want to say?”

The Marquis put down the teacup at my question then he suddenly made a vague expression on his face.

“Do you remember Celia’s face?”

I couldn’t help but laugh at the Marquis’ question.

Celia. It was Adelia’s mother’s name.

What is the point of bringing up the name of my mother, who died?

But it is certain the marquis is plotting something and uses my mother’s name as a bait.

“I don’t understand why you’re suddenly talking about my mother’s name. Does that matter now”

“Of course, it does matter. Celia wanted to capture a great marriage for her daughter when she was born.”

Don’t tell me…

An ominous feeling ran through my body.

Sure enough. The words I didn’t expect came out of the marquis’ mouth.

“I’ve prepared a decent marriage for you on behalf of the dead Celia.”

I felt like a curse was going to pop out of my mouth. I barely managed to extinguish the anger that was rising through my teeth.

Yeah. I should have expected this.

I was foolish to think that they would let me go when they could sell me more expensively.

In the past, my notoriety was so high that I couldn’t even dare to find a marriage partner, but time has passed and I was even mentioned as a candidate for a saint, so now my value has increased.

I couldn’t hate myself for being so careless.

“I am no longer your daughter.”

“Your name will be put on the heirloom again. The paperwork has already been completed, so all you have to do is wait-”

“No, you don’t have to do that.”

I got up from my seat and said,

“I just don’t want to get involved with shameless people anymore.”

The two men hardened their faces after hearing the relentless remarks.

Sizelon tried to make up a gentle voice and asked to appease me.

“What’s wrong with you? Why did you change so suddenly? You were such a good kid.”

I had no choice but to pause at the words. Good kid….

Yes. I work so hard to get a piece of love from you.

But it was you who didn’t even give it to me.

Maybe I knew it from the beginning. That they won’t give me their hearts.

Nevertheless, I hung on to them thinking that it may not be the case. I have this illusion that I am also their family.

Yes. I was addicted to the misery they inflicted on me.

It was a very bad addiction.

How stupid.

I jumped out of my seat and spoke to those I once thought of as my family.

“If I knew it’s going to be like this, I think going to the convent would be a better choice. I can no longer play with your greed.”

“You are acting foolishly until the very end.”

“That’s right. I was foolish. I should have cut off this insignificant connection earlier.”

The marquis’ eyes subsided darkly.

He sighed and called the waiting knights.

“Take Adelia to her room.”

“Yes!”

At the command of the Marquis, the knights approached behind me. I let out a laugh and said to the knights.

“Don’t touch me, I’ll walk on my feet.”

I felt the knights flinching at the moment and looked at the marquis’ countenance.

The marquis looked at me still and nodded.

Only then did the knights take a step back from me.

I clicked my tongue for a short time and left.

Click.

As soon as I stepped into the room, the door closed. I turned the doorknob just in case.

That’s terrible.

The doorknob did not move.

It looked like it was locked from the outside.

I turned my head and looked out the window, and I couldn’t help but burst out laughing again.

All the windows were blocked.

“Ha. You’re determined. I didn’t expect you to do this.”

I felt that the family love that had remained a little bit disappeared without leaving a trace.

At that moment, the memory from this mansion passed by like a flashlight.

  • Just be dead.

  • Why don’t you know that your very existence paints filth on the family?

  • Giving birth to you is one of the biggest mistakes in my life.

How did Adelia endure this situation?

It was so hard for me, I’m not even their real family.

I prayed earnestly. Please let time stop again.

If so, there will be an opportunity to wash away all these unpleasant memories.

The moment I thought of that, a strange sensation occurred with a burning sensation in my heart.

For someone who knows the future, she sure is too spineless.

She, is an unmarried/un-engaged virgin woman of marrying age, isn’t her own noble she is currently a fallen noble/sub-barren, the king made it clear that he wouldn’t intervene with the matter or let the duke public do so. She has no other families of hire backing who are willing to back her or the temple. If she was declared the Saint things would have been different or the current one wasn’t then the duke could have stepped in. But then she would have to follow the story instead of going home. The king also made it clear that while they may have removed her she is still considered part of the family to some extent still whether she likes it or not. And she might be able to make a special of her father in court, but it would cost her far more than it would him.
She might have some black mail info, but it does no good if she can’t sell it if she can’t leave.

Sadly, she knows her place in the world and her current power and she’s learning her saint powers.

      1. jiral says:

That only proves how stupid the FL is. She had time to devise escape routes and guarantee of complete familial dissolution, renounce her nobility or even leave the empire for good but she wasted that away in some assumed boondocks (as she was found so easily). Indeed, she knew her place but did nothing to change that status quo.

        1. Bobolisky says:

You do know that none of this saint stuff happened in the original right? She only went along because she was absolutely sure there was no way she was the saint.

    2. velianne says:

I 100% agree, she never actually gets to the point of saying what she means and let’s people decide where she goes. So many other novels have had female leads who can actually act with agency and purpose

  3. itchipipie says:

I find the FL cowardly. She’s busy with her self monologue yet ended up always unable to verbalize anything substantial. Thinking of dropping if the characterization of the FL doesn’t improve in the next couple of chapters.
