I Reincarnated as a Cringeworthy Villainous Noble, but Got Obsessed With Magic

I Possessed the Villainous Noble

Chapter 1: I Possessed the Villainous Noble

In a circular room, two boys face each other.

One boy, clad in black armor, exudes a dark aura and is gasping for breath, with blood spurting from various wounds. His face contorted with anger and regret.

The other boy, symmetrically dressed in pure white knight’s attire, radiates a golden aura. He gazes at the boy crouched in sorrow with eyes filled with sadness and faint disdain. There isn’t a scratch on his body.

There exists a profound disparity in power between these two.

“Why? Why can’t I defeat you…! I’ve endured grueling training, I’ve sacrificed so much, even my soul to demons! And yet!”

“You’re mistaken. I’ve come this far with the power of hope for everyone. I’ve grown stronger with a noble spirit to save others. You are undoubtedly strong, but you lack comrades. That’s the difference between you and me.”

And then, the unscathed boy departs. In his eyes, there is no longer any emotion towards the boy he defeated.

“Damn it, damn it, damn ittttt!”

In the room with no one else but the wounded boy, his cries of anguish echo.

As his life seeps away, he continues to lament in bitterness until the very last drop, endlessly tormented by his regret.

☆☆☆

“Ugh… Ugh, ugh… It’s painful…! Both of them are painful! Dun from Dark Awakening! And the protagonist who doesn’t act like the protagonist, Dun from Light Awakening! It’s so painfully intense!”

I commented on that moment of the anime I had just watched.

It was a time when I was simply reminded of my second year of middle school and writhed in empathetic embarrassment. Painful – there’s no other way to describe it. During the viewing, my heart was truly in agony.

Alone in the room, it was so painfully intense that I shouted out, “Painful,” a word that couldn’t adequately express my feelings. If the walls were thinner, the neighbors might have mistaken it for “ouch” and called an ambulance, but fortunately, I lived alone in a soundproofed apartment, so there was no need to worry. That’s why I could shout without holding back.

If you only watched the last scene, you might feel a twinge of sympathy for Kamase-kun, the Apostle of Darkness (laughs), and his misfortune. However, I couldn’t relate to the process at all.

Kamase-kun, born into a noble family with everything he could ever want, meets the protagonist-kun. Frustrated that his powers, for the first time, don’t work on the protagonist as expected, Kamase-kun clashes with him, only to be repelled as per the cliché. Their encounters continue, with Kamase’s relentless string of defeats. In the end, he sells his soul to demons and still loses without leaving a scratch due to his dark awakening (laughs).

The developers must really harbor some strong animosity towards a character as ill-treated as Kamase-kun.

However, that doesn’t mean the protagonist is a hero. Without Kamase-kun, he’d be the perfect villain…

The protagonist-kun, a stunningly handsome commoner from a certain village, has a cute childhood friend, and right from the start, he’s given special treatment as he trains under the retired Knight Commander. It conveniently progresses with remarks like, “Your talent surpasses mine,” and he keeps getting stronger.

His cute childhood friend also conveniently awakens as the most powerful magician just to not be outdone by the protagonist.

At the age of 16, thanks to the retired Knight Commander’s connections, he enrolls in the “amazing” Royal Academy. By the way, the protagonist ranks first, and his childhood friend ranks second. Oh my, how incredible! (Sarcasm)

And then, while repeatedly exclaiming, “Wow, amazing!” he forms a harem. Of course, he has selective hearing and conveniently benefits from it.

The cute heroines compete for the protagonist’s affection while effortlessly defeating approaching enemies with the power of love (laughs).

It’s entertaining up to this point.

But the protagonist’s bad habit is subtly looking down on the weak.

Take Kamase-kun, for example – he says condescending words with a “You’re so weak and pitiful” vibe, and then proceeds to thrash him. And the heroines approve of this.

They all chime in with, “He’s trash, he deserves to die,” while the protagonist hypocritically says, “Don’t say that (ry” – saying things he doesn’t really mean.

“Painful” is an understatement. The protagonist is essentially just a title-bearing villain.

I jot down these comments as my impressions of the anime I’ve watched so far, calmly entering them into my notebook. Since it’s purely personal opinion, I won’t be posting it online or anything.

I don’t know if there are any fans of this anime… If there are, they probably wouldn’t appreciate the negative emotions it might evoke. There’s nothing more painful than incessantly discussing one’s subjective views.

“Uh-oh, I’m getting dizzy. Maybe binge-watching a whole season in one go was a bit too much.”

As I get up, I feel a bit wobbly.

I need to lie down right away; otherwise, I might collapse. There’s also some dizziness when standing up, likely due to recent sleep deprivation and staring at the screen for so long.

As I wobble, trying to move towards the nearby bed, I stumble over a book I carelessly left on the floor.

“Oh, this is bad—”

Bang!

I hit the edge of the desk or something, and a dull pain shoots through my head, and my consciousness rapidly fades away.

This is not good.

Someone help—

☆☆☆

“Hehehe… No way…”

They say humans lose their voices when they’re shocked, but in my case, it was the old man’s laughter, like he was trying to poison me, that came out.

Lost consciousness after hitting the edge of the desk. When I woke up, it wasn’t in a hospital but facing a stranger in front of a mirror.

Well, in a sense, I know him.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say I know everything about him, even his future.

A young boy with still somewhat innocent chestnut hair.

Not very tall, but he’s a good-looking guy with a nicely toned physique.

It seems that I’ve somehow possessed the Dark Awakening Kamase-kun, also known as Zenon Lestinata, who cried and gasped for breath in his final moments…

“Even if this is a dream, I didn’t want to possess this guy…”

If I could wake up, please let me wake up.
