I Played the Role of the Adopted Daughter Too Well

CHAPTER 100

Day 3 of the Forget-Me-Not Banquet.

To some extent or another, the descendants of many noble families began to form groups. Viola decided to just pretend to attend the Forget-Me-Not Banquet and when she thought about it, not attending the banquet was actually a pretty impressive action. It seemed that everyone who attended the banquet was very interested in Celine’s proposal.

“How many of us are special?”

“Well. Lady Luna is with us, so at least one person must have been included in that category.”

“That’s too much praise. Isn’t Lord Toyins more noble than me?”

Viola laughed at the voices coming from all over the place.

Hera asked, “Why on earth are you laughing?”

“It’s just… Because everyone is cute.”

“Cute?”

“Uh-huh.”

In Viola’s eyes, they were all babies. A group of boys and girls aged 12 to 17.

‘At best, these kids are from elementary school to high school age. Most aren’t even a 3rd-year highschooler, but merely a 1st-year highschooler. I think it’s funny but also cute to see such kids gathered together in small groups and saying, ‘You’re the best.’ ‘No, you’re the best!’’

Leaving Tundra alone in their lodgings, Viola and Hera enjoyed the banquet alone.

“What was your original intention at the Forget-Me-Not Banquet?”

“I told you. Revenge on Senna, for daring to mess with my sister…”

What should she say to make Hera understand? If she were Viola in the original, what would she say? Was it okay to say this…?

“I don’t think it would be cool to merely rip her tongue out.”

“Other than that, you probably have something you want to do at the Forget-Me-Not Banquet.”

“Well…”

What Viola originally wanted to do at the Forget-Me-Not Banquet was to become acquainted with Raimon Nam’s twin sons. She was going to make a grand finale at the end of the banquet while doing a favor for the Raimon twins. It was generally known that Baron Raimon was a baronial family located on the edge of the Golden Road. They may not seem like much at the moment, but in the future, he would build the huge Raimon Merchant Company.

‘The Raimon Merchant Company will become united with the Terra Merchant Company…’

If the two huge companies join forces, they would emerge as one of the leading entities on the continent. And that power would come back to Viola as a usable sword. But sadly, her plans had gone up in smoke.

Hera asked, “Can you tell me?”

“Well, several variables have arisen because of Celine.”

“I thought that Viola was a princess who could overcome any obstacle in the pursuit of her goals.”

“The variables are too strong to break through.”

Hera burst out laughing. Viola’s answer appealed to her.

“I was looking at my sister wrong.”

Hera believed that as a White Bellato, a person should definitely know when to advance and when to back off. In that respect, Viola had great qualities because she was clearly able to distinguish between when to force something and when to not force something. Viola moved according to her own standards.

“That’s a compliment, right?”

“Yes, it’s a compliment.”

Meanwhile, from afar, a murmuring sound was heard.

“Yay! Wow!”

It was clear that Jeremy had appeared.

‘Let’s avoid him.’

It was actually easy to avoid Jeremy because whenever he appeared, the ladies made so much noise with their exclamations and screams. Thanks to this, Viola was able to clearly determine Jeremy’s location. Viola laughed again while pushing Hera’s wheelchair away.

‘There are so many people here. They make everything in the world shake.’

Voices came from all over the place. The ladies said things like…

“Isn’t Prince Jeremy actually a priest? What does he believe in to make him so beautiful?”

“I can’t handle it! I have to get to my father’s basement freezer. Seeing Prince Jeremy is making my heart melt!”

Or other things like that. Viola scratched her head in awe from across the river.

‘Wow, how novel.’

They could really make everything in this world shake. This young lady could kill two birds with one stone. She was not only able to attract attention to herself, but she also was able to show off her wealth by mentioning her family had a luxurious space called a basement freezer.

“Did you notice it, my lady? I smell like Prince Jeremy.”

“Are you talking about his perfume?”

“No. It’s his natural fragrance.”

In fact, Jeremy didn’t listen to any of their words. His only interest was Viola.

‘I think I just saw Viola. But I can’t move at all.’

As soon as he tried to move even a little, numerous ladies surrounded Jeremy. He didn’t want to talk to them but he couldn’t just ignore them.

‘Please! Please go away!’

It seemed Jeremy couldn’t meet Viola today either.

* * *

Senna found Viola moving Hera around in her wheelchair. Jeremy couldn’t get close to Viola, but Senna was able to get close to Viola without much difficulty.

“Princess Hera. Princess Viola. It’s a new feeling to see you at the banquet hall.”

Senna’s eyes swept Viola from her head to her toes. Like a knight on the battlefield, she cataloged all of the opponent’s weapons. What kind of jewelry was she wearing on her head? What were her earrings and necklace? What kind of rings and bracelets was she wearing? What family and designer made the dress? What were the details of the shoes?

“I heard that Bellato’s children are upright and strong so they don’t put much effort into their appearance. I salute and admire everyone at Bellato.”

In other words, it meant, ‘You are so barbaric that you don’t know fashion, and judging by the way you dress, I don’t see anything special either.’

Some of Senna’s followers smiled softly as if they understood what she really meant.

“Hohoho, it feels really good to meet Lady Viola.”

She lifted her fan gracefully. The fan was engraved with both the symbol of the Louis Bartengan family and the number 7. It meant that it was a limited edition model from the Louis Bartengan family. She was wearing as many as six rings made with colorful gems, the extravagance was truly excessive.

‘Ah… it’s so excessive. Does she really think that’s pretty?’

Senna’s necklace was made of large pearls woven together but the pearls were so large and thick that it looked like it was hurting her neck.

“Thank you. I heard that the Duchy of Mariantu pursues outstanding beauty in every situation and environment.”

“Of course. The Duchy of Mariantu places great importance on dignity and quality.”

“So he puts pearl necklaces on pigs’ necks, too?”

Viola’s eyes turned to Princess Senna’s neck. The expressions of Princess Senna and her followers hardened instantly.

“Hoho, Lady Viola is really good at telling jokes.”

Then the ladies behind Princess Senna laughed along.

“I think in Bellato, they put pearl necklaces around pigs’ necks?”

“What extravagant words. Bellato only severs a pig’s neck.”

She again looked at Princess Senna’s neck. The moment Senna met Viola’s murderous eyes, her world froze and her fingertips began to tremble. To Princess Senna, who had grown up like a flower in the greenhouse, Viola’s spirit was a life-like force.

“Okay. As expected, Bellato is strong. Please hide your strength under a softer smile at social gatherings.”

Senna put it in a noble way, saying that barbarians like Viola were not suitable for social gatherings.

Viola laughed. It was really cute to see Princess Senna saying everything she wanted to say even though she was so scared. Senna showed off her pride until the end.

“Oh. Has Princess Viola ever shared words with Prince Jeremy?”

When the question was asked, Viola answered reflexively.

“Not many.”

Cold sweat suddenly began to run down Viola’s back. Master Kurumkrum’s dress was able to evaporate the cold sweat in an instant, but cold shivers continued to run down her spine. Suddenly, Viola felt that all the ladies around her were looking in her direction.

‘Ah… What is this gaze?’

“Haha, hoho.”

Viola could no longer hear the individual voices of so many people laughing and talking. Instead, it sounded like the melody of an opera oozing out.

‘As expected, it’s Jeremy. The first generation idol of this world.’

There was nothing good about being involved with Jeremy. In this world filled with extreme fans, Viola felt that if she showed off her closeness with Jeremy, she would end up in trouble.

“I see. You spoke with Prince Jeremy. But he decided to have a meal with me later.”

Senna’s face was full of composure. She seemed to enjoy her victory as a winner. Everyone’s eyes flew to her. Senna seemed to enjoy the gazes.

“Ah, okay. Have a good time.”

Viola wasn’t particularly envious, nor was it something to celebrate. What’s so big about eating with that annoying Jeremy? Viola decided to leave for now. It wasn’t because of Senna, instead, it was because she saw Jeremy coming closer. She tried to leave by pushing the wheelchair but Senna held onto her persistently.

“Princess Viola. Would you like to enjoy a smoothie with me? I can introduce you to Prince Jeremy.”

‘Hey, don’t touch me. I don’t want to meet Jeremy.’

She was sure Jeremy would smile brightly and act like he knew her well, but that would only make things very tiring.

“I’m busy with work.”

Senna thought she had discovered Viola’s weakness. It was clear to her that Viola was afraid of Jeremy or she was very shy. Yes, Senna thought that it was either fear, or shyness, or Viola might even be jealous of her closeness with Prince Jeremy. She didn’t mind.

‘Just try to embarrass yourself, Viola. I cannot wait to see you humiliated.’

She took Viola’s hand, her determination to never let go was evident.

“How about orangeade made with green beans made by our chef himself?”

Jeremy came closer.

‘Uh! Viola! We can finally meet! I’ve missed you!’

If you do something stupid, your life will become tiring. Viola had to seriously consider whether she should knock down Senna and run away. But then a strange spell was heard coming from somewhere. The spell continued to flow through the banquet hall like a song.

“A hot wind will blow from the desert.”
