Brody!

Kyle saw the rabbit falling into the middle of the storm, threw away the net and everything else he was holding onto, and jumped into the sea after the rabbit.

And the funny thing was, immediately after, he regretted it. Why did he do such a crazy thing?

He couldn’t swim properly in the water because his legs were all tied up.

But he jumped without thinking about this. Kyle, who was sinking into the sea, gritted his teeth and looked for Brody.

But in the darkness, and especially in the churning sea, finding the little rabbit was nearly impossible.

He was struggling and flailing in the water like crazy, unable to breathe, but as if God had answered his desperate pleas, Brody appeared in the distance as if by a miracle.

She had lost consciousness and was being tossed about by the waves.

Kyle fought with all his might, wading through the waves with his bound legs, trying to catch Brody.

But just as Kyle thought he had caught up with Brody, he couldn’t believe his eyes at the sight unfolding before him.

Behind the rabbit, the head of a sea monster rose. It was dark and difficult to judge, but it was definitely a head. Because soon the sea monster rose to the surface and approached them with its mouth wide open.

All movements he had been doing, struggling to survive, stopped. Kyle stared blankly at the sea monster that had its mouth wide open toward Brody and him.

He couldn’t do anything. Not the moment he saw Brody enter its mouth nor the moment the sea monster’s mouth came close to him, wide open.

Kyle closed his eyes as he felt his mind snap. With that, his body was sucked into the sea monster’s far-off mouth.

Rumble, Rumble, Rumble.

The sound of falling water echoed.

It was as if she was in a fairly large cave. The sound woke Brody up from her slumber.

The next thing she perceived was a sensation. Brody felt the floor sloshing with stagnant water and instinctively groaned.

Besides, she didn’t know what caused the smell, but it was really bad it made her shiver. It smelled just like food waste.

The stench was so bad that she couldn’t even tell where it was by smell.

Brody slowly opened her eyes and looked around. But she couldn’t see anything. She closed and opened her eyes several times.

But what was invisible still remained.

What the heck. Her other senses were fine, but what was in front of her eyes was strange. It was complete darkness itself.

Brody was in shock and kept rubbing her eyes with her forelegs, but it was still the same.

“Whoa, I can’t see….”

What happened?

Having been hanging over the boat and having no memory of what happened after seeing the sea monster, Brody panicked as she didn’t know what had happened to her.

“Kyle, Kyle……”

She started looking for Kyle without realizing it.

Brody felt the horribly squishy ground around her, shaking with fear.

Her hind legs were still tied, so she moved her body by tapping the floor with her forelegs, and suddenly her forelegs caught something that felt like soft fur instead of the strange ground.

She pressed down on it again, and felt skin and bone under the fur.

It was a leg.

“Kyle?”

Because she had been sticking to Kyle’s leg so much, even if she had only touched it slightly, she could immediately recognise Kyle’s leg.

At that moment, Brody was overcome with an indescribable sense of relief.

Just knowing that Kyle was by her side made half of the fear she had felt when she couldn’t see anything melt away.

She slowly worked her way up Kyle’s legs and body, finally reaching his face.

Fortunately, he was breathing. He didn’t come to his senses no matter how many times she called him, but judging by the fact that he made a “hmm” sound every time she touched him, she didn’t think anything was wrong.

Brody was afraid to move alone in this situation, so she decided to figure out where they were after Kyle woke up.

Since Kyle must have lost consciousness later than her, he should know about the situation.

And she would be able tell if Kyle woke up, whether she could see him or not.

Brody sat next to Kyle and started working.

She struggled to free her hind legs, which were impeding her movements.

But in a place where only the sound of dripping water echoed, suddenly a splashing sound was heard.

Brody perked up her ears in surprise. It could be the sound of the water on the floor. But Brody didn’t move, so it must have come from somewhere else.

But no matter how hard she listened, the sound that had rang just a moment ago was not heard again.

Brody thought she had misheard and continued to untie the rope around her hind legs.

Of course, it wasn’t easy.

After an hour of biting and struggling, she was finally able to get free.

After throwing away all the rope and leaning against Kyle’s body, exhausted, she heard a splashing sound again from somewhere in the unknown space.

This time it happened twice. The first time she was really nervous and stuck to Kyle. But then Brody suddenly began to have different thoughts.

She thought that maybe the thing making that strange noise wasn’t something worth being so scared about.

Brody slowly got up. she started walking towards where the sound came from, feeling the ground beneath her.

But after taking about five or six steps forward, a voice suddenly rang out from where only the sound of water quietly echoed.

“Stop.”

“Whoa!”

Brody was so shocked that she screamed fearfully and ran towards Kyle.

There was another being. The voice of that invisible being, echoing ominously, naturally aroused fear.

Brody, who was hiding behind Kyle who still hadn’t woken up, was gasping for breath with her heart pounding.

She looked at the place where she had heard the voice just a moment ago and asked in a trembling voice, even though she could not see anything.

“Who, who are you…?”

At that moment, a loud laugh was heard from the other person.

It was eerie and creepy, like the laughter of an old man or a mischievous child.

“Who is Jim?”¹Jim is the way ancient korean kings referred to themselves.

The being that had been laughing as if Brody’s question was absurd soon revealed its identity in a solemn voice.

“I am the one who rules the darkness here. I am called the ‘Dark Lord.'”

The Dark Lord? Brody blinked upon hearing the introduction. He’s not even a wizard, he’s the Dark Lord.

Brody, in the midst of her fear, felt a sense of significance and asked the question once more to confirm his identity.

“So… you are the Demon King who rules over the darkness here?”

Did he notice that her tone had become somewhat incredulous, unlike a moment ago when she had been trembling with fear, and was filled with doubts?

The other person’s voice, which had been solemn, suddenly became harsh.

“Are you doubting me?”

“Huh? Oh, no. That’s not it…”

Brody was startled by the voice of the other person, which clearly showed his displeasure, and quickly waved her front paw.

However, the Dark Lord, who seemed to hate being doubted even in the slightest, did not listen to her explanation.

“That won’t do. I felt sorry for you and tried to tolerate your confusion…”

Brody fell to the ground in surprise as he finished his angry words and an unknown noise suddenly echoed through the room.

“Wait, wait!”

At the same time, the floor began to shake violently.

Brody screamed in fear as the space shook at the Dark Lord’s one sentence.

And soon Brody realized that he was a supernatural being who could manipulate this space as he pleased, whether he was a demon lord or a wizard, so she put her doubts aside and shouted.

“Your Majesty, I was wrong! I will never doubt you again! Please forgive me just this once!”

“Ahem, really?”

But even though he seemed to be listening to her, the shaking in the space did not stop.

So Brody had to keep begging the Dark Lord until the movements died down.

Brody, who had been pushed around for a while, asked him carefully this time, acknowledging his existence, so as not to repeat the same mistake again.

“Excuse me, Your Majesty… I’m sorry, but where on earth is this place that Your Majesty rules over?”

She asked the question as politely as possible, trying not to provoke his temper. The Demon King seemed to have calmed down and answered her.

“This is deep darkness.”

But his words are too vague, Brody opened her mouth again, despite that being rude.

“Where on earth is this deep darkness?”

The Dark Lord, who had answered just a moment ago, said nothing this time.

Brody thought the two consecutive questions had gotten on his nerves, so she tried to soothe him.

But after a while, an answer came back from the Dark Lord.

“This is… in the inside of a stomach.”

“Stomach……inside of a stomach?”

There was no mention of whose stomach it was, but Brody immediately understood and opened her mouth in shock.

If it was a being that had swallowed them, it would obviously be the sea monster they had last seen.

Once she realized that, the puzzle started to fall into place.

This space vibrating, the squelchy floor, the smell of rotting food, and the reason she couldn’t see anything.

Moreover, the fact that they are alive and breathing inside its stomach without dying was probably because these sea monsters were transcendent beings.

“This is ridiculous. We’re in the belly of a sea monster….”

Brody was still dumbfounded and muttered in disbelief.

The voice calling himself a scary being even though he had already demonstrated his abilities felt a bit frivolous, but Brody figured she must have misheard because she was in shock at that time.

“That’s why Jim is in the dark. No one who actually saw Jim survived.”

In this way, the Dark Lord emphasized once again that he was like a sea monster, so that Brody would not dare to come near.

And Brody, too, was afraid of the invisible Dark Lord and kept prostrating herself before him so as not to incur his wrath.

“But what are you doing here? How did you end up here?”

It was a question posed by the surprisingly talkative Dark Lord.

When Brody heard that question, she opened her mouth obediently, thinking that she had to answer the Demon King frankly.
