IFHWPUML Chapter 088

IFHWPUML Chapter 88

‘Tia’s voice couldn’t possibly sound like this… could it?’

Lizelle sat up on the bed in surprise.

“Why… why are you here…?”

Her eyes widened.

An unexpected figure stood before her.

Seeing Chase in such casual attire, Lizelle’s face flushed bright red in an instant.

“What’s with that ridiculous outfit?!”

She hastily averted her gaze, but the sight of his firm muscles faintly visible through the thin attire made her cheeks burn hotter.

It even seemed like he just stepped out of the shower, his black hair was dripping water.

Droplets of water trickled down from his hair, sliding along his sharp jawline.

“This is the perfect outfit to hold my bride in.”

Lizelle was startled by Chase’s sly voice.

“W-What did you just say?”

Hold his bride? So, that meant…

“Tonight is our first night, after all.”

Did he just say first night? That wasn’t part of the agreement!

No, more importantly, why was he suddenly speaking so informally to her?

Lizelle shook her head, trying to confirm if her ears were playing tricks on her.

“Since we’re married, it’s only natural that we have our first night together. I’m ready—do you need more time?”

However, the voice that followed was even clearer, piercing straight into her ears.

Shocked as if struck by lightning, Lizelle’s mouth hung open.

“N-No… What is this…?”

As she stammered in disbelief, Chase slowly began to approach her.

One step at a time.

The faint moonlight that seeped into the room illuminated his muscles as they glistened.

The muscles visible through the open front of his clothes were sexy enough that anyone who saw them would need to swallow their saliva.

The solid and well-formed crevices, as if intricately crafted by the gods, were mouthwatering…

Ah, that wasn’t right. Snapping back to her senses, Lizelle shouted.

“Ah, don’t come any closer!”

She retreated, inching back hesitantly as Chase approached.

But there was nowhere to escape as her back hit the headboard of the bed.

“Well, you don’t need to prepare anything on the first night.”

Before she realized it, Chase reached the edge of the bed and climbed on top of her trembling figure.

“Huh.”

Lizelle froze and held her breath at the sight of his face, which had suddenly gotten very close. Her heart was pounding so hard that she wondered if it was possible for it to keep beating like this.

“Don’t even think about sleeping tonight.”

His voice, with a strange aura, filled the room.

His red eyes deepened as his hot breath headed toward her lips.

* * *

Chase returned to his office after greeting the guests who had come to celebrate the wedding.

Although it was his wedding day—a once-in-a-lifetime event—work stopped for no one.

His desk, as usual, was stacked high with a mountain of documents that needed processing.

Still in his stiff and uncomfortable tuxedo, Chase was skimming through the papers when an image of Lizelle in her wedding dress flashed in his mind. He set the documents down.

If clothes made the person, Lizelle was the exception. It seemed there wasn’t a single outfit that didn’t suit her.

Whatever she wore, she carried it with an angelic grace that seemed almost otherworldly.

A chuckle escaped his lips as his mouth curved into a soft smile.

He planned to quickly take care of the paperwork and go to Lizelle.

He wanted to see her face one more time before he fell asleep.

He still couldn’t believe that she had become a member of the Halos family, that she became his wife.

Unmistakable joy naturally appeared on his face.

Chase adjusted his smile and refocused, putting on his glasses as he began to read the papers more quickly.

Knock, knock.

“Come in.”

Even at the sound of the knock, he didn’t lift his gaze from the papers.

“I knew this would happen!”

The voice was Rohan’s.

Chase didn’t bother to spare him a glance as he continued signing a document.

“Master!”

“Speak.”

“How can you be doing this right now?!”

Chase finally looked up when he didn’t understand what Rohan was saying.

Rohan was approaching with a face full of complaints.

“Have you forgotten you got married today?”

“I never could forget.”

“Then you shouldn’t be sitting here!”

When Chase looked at him as if he didn’t understand English anymore, Rohan felt frustrated and smacked his chest.

“Master, don’t you know that on the day of the wedding, the couple spends their first night together?”

First night?

In that moment, Chase’s body froze. If it was the first night, then that would mean…

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Chase ignored the heat creeping up his ears and glared at Rohan.

The first night.

Of course, it was technically his wedding night with Lizelle, but their relationship wasn’t like that.

Moreover, if she didn’t feel the same way about him, Chase had no intention of forcing anything on her.

“You shouldn’t be here. Go take a shower and get ready!”

Rohan ignored his master’s protests, urging him impatiently.

“Rohan.”

“Master, trust me. Go clean up. The lady must be waiting for you.”

Even Chase’s stern tone didn’t deter Rohan.

He was about to pick up his pen again when he paused.

“She’s waiting?”

She’s waiting for him… The thought stirred something in Chase, and his heart began to race with excitement.

“Of course! The first night is very important for the bride. Now, hurry and wash up and get ready.”

As if entranced by those words, Chase rose from his seat.

Whether or not they spent the first night together, he needed to wash up anyway, so he wasn’t exactly following Rohan’s suggestion.

He got up from his seat and headed to the bedroom, with Rohan following behind.

Rohan studied a lot for today.

In hopes that his master would do well, he sought advice from married men around him and even reflected on his own experiences.

But that wasn’t enough, so he looked for books that were highly recommended.

Chase glanced skeptically at Rohan, who had followed him into the bedroom, before heading into the bathroom.

Once Chase disappeared into the bathroom, Rohan confirmed the door was closed and quickly summoned a servant to bring what he prepared.

Carefully, he laid a white robe neatly on Chase’s bed.

Then, he opened the book he’d been holding to his side and began reading it again.

[First: Prepare clothes that reveal your muscular physique.

Examples: Tight shirts, robes with wide-open fronts, etc.]

Rohan’s eyes sparkled with satisfaction as he read the rest of the guidelines without missing a single one.

Several minutes later…

Chase emerged from the bathroom, shaking off his wet hair, his expression immediately turned sour.

“You can wear this.”

Rohan smiled brightly and held out a white robe.

“Are you kidding me right now?”

“Trust me. Oh, and don’t bother drying your hair completely. It’s better if water drips from it.”

Rohan looked confident.

At this point, Chase began to seriously doubt Rohan.

Didn’t he fail miserably last time he followed Rohan’s advice?

Still, Chase had neither experience with romance nor marriage to fall back on, so Rohan’s advice was all he had to rely on.

Besides, Rohan was the only married man among those closest to him.

“And you have to win.”

“Win what?”

Chase’s brow furrowed as he reluctantly took the robe, his face full of suspicion at the strange remark.

“A man who yields during the day but wins at night is the trend.”

What kind of nonsense is this now?

Chase demanded an explanation with his piercing look, and Rohan hurriedly elaborated.

“If you are soft-spoken during the day, you must be firm and assertive at night.”

“Why?”

“Because that’s what women say they like.”

“And who exactly says this?”

He has to win at night?

It was the first time he’d ever heard something like that.

Of course, he had no interest in the opposite sex and lived his life turning a deaf ear to the things he heard.

“Master, trust me. Everything will work out.”

Rohan looked at his master, who was completely bewildered, with pity.

In fact, all of this was to ensure his master wouldn’t end up humiliated on his wedding night.

There were nobles who ended up sleeping in separate rooms immediately after getting married, and Rohan couldn’t guarantee his master wouldn’t face a similar fate.

So, he had gone to the maids and asked for recommendations on a romance book and read it.

Surprisingly, its contents were better than expected.

It was very detailed on how a man should appeal to a woman.

Rohan told his wary master everything he learned from the book.

In his hand he held a shabby book that the maids had been passing around.

[Why Does the Lady Only Give Potatoes to the Footman?] was the title.
