I Failed to Divorce My Husband

Maybe even if there weren’t such benefits, Aiden would have helped Lady Quiness.

The decisive reason that moved his heart was Aiden’s personal memories. His parents’ relationship in the past.

And not long ago, he remembered the incident with Erin when they almost divorced.

Fortunately, Logan and Isabella, and Erin and himself had resolved their misunderstandings and were getting along well.

However, he realized something through that process: marriage shouldn’t become a shackle, marriage isn’t the end of all stories, even after marriage, there’s always a path of choice.

Even if the start wasn’t great, they could become closer and like family by being together. However, Lady Quiness was different.

It wasn’t because of misunderstandings with her husband that she had distanced herself.

For the 15 years of marriage, she had simply endured and waited, never once considering her husband as family. Always, she had been determined to divorce, waiting until the promised time with the Emperor arrived.

Aiden realized how different life is when living with someone you like, and want to be with, while being with Erin.

So, when he looked at Lady Quiness’s unhappy marriage, he rather wanted to support her in parting ways.

Aiden wanted to see Lady Quiness divorce and live the life she desired.

This was Aiden’s innermost feeling that he didn’t show outwardly. Before he knew it, one corner of Aiden’s mouth arched up. It was Erin who brought about this change too.

The invitation list for the party hosted by Lienster was somewhat organized, but there were still undecided issues.

“How about the elders’ council?” It was a matter of whether to send them invitations.

The relationship between the elders’ council of Lienster and Erin could be considered contradictory.

Erin, who thought she could manipulate Lienster as she pleased, was instead the cause of a crack that started when she tried to influence Lienster.

When the issue of divorce arose this time, they would have secretly hoped for a divorce.

However, due to the rapidly changing situation, the relationship between Erin and Aiden became even stronger.

Despite this, the reason they hadn’t visited the manor or caused any problems at the elders’ council until now was probably because they were looking for the best time to shake things up.

If they weren’t invited, they would willingly come as uninvited guests.

“We should invite them. They will be very curious.”

“Yes, I understand.”

Erin had no intention of giving in to the elders’ council’s desires.

If they came to embarrass Erin and Aiden, she would confidently welcome them. Once the decision to invite the elders’ council was made, the rest was a breeze.

The day of the party hosted by Lienster had arrived.

In reality, it was a party where everyone was eagerly waiting to receive their invitations.

Naturally, most of the nobles from the capital attended.

And of course, Yullia Charte also attended.
Erin had put a lot of effort into this party.

She dedicated herself to selecting not only the flowers and decorations, but also carefully choosing the music that would resound throughout the event.

In addition, she had invited opera singers, musicians, and even a poet to add to the splendor of the party.

Naturally, the party was perfectly prepared.

“The elders’ council has not arrived yet,” Mona quietly informed Erin.

She was currently assessing the arrival status of the guests.

“They’ll arrive soon. The main characters always show up late, don’t they?”

“Do they?”

“Their timing always seems lousy, doesn’t it?”

Erin muttered under her breath, frowning.

It was always like that. They always showed up at the most unwelcome timing, never keeping their seats from the beginning.

Today was no different.

As Erin surveyed the situation, she opened her mouth to address everyone.

“Thank you all for attending today. I personally took care of everything from one to ten, so I hope you had a great time without feeling any regrets.”

When Erin opened the door to the gathering, others exchanged greetings.

No one openly mentioned the purpose of this gathering, but they all knew in secret.

It wasn’t just a gathering for nobles to socialize with each other. It was a place to publicly display the strong relationship between the Earl and the Countess of Lienster, in order to quell any lingering rumors.

Of course, Erin’s main purpose was to showcase her intimacy with Aiden.

The two carefully coordinated their dress code. Intentionally, Erin and Aiden moved together throughout the gathering as if they were one.

They didn’t let each other out of sight. After exchanging polite arm-in-arm greetings for a while, Erin briefly parted with Aiden.

Being alone was better for having a more friendly conversation, as being with Aiden made the noblewomen nervous and uneasy.

“The Earl and Countess seem to be a perfect match today.”

“Indeed, there’s no stronger relationship within the empire. Their bond is truly enviable.”

“From now on, we should brush off any rumors we hear. After all, you can’t believe everything you hear.”

“I do think so, indeed.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure to give them a little more to talk about.”

Erin’s casual words elicited laughter from the noblewomen.

The responses were appropriately insincere, but not unpleasant.

At this rate, the rumors of divorce between Erin and Aiden seemed likely to quiet down starting today.

“Thank you all for coming today. I hope you’ve all enjoyed yourselves thoroughly.”

“Of course. It has been a feast for the eyes and ears alike.”

As Erin turned away from the noblewomen after engaging in a polite conversation, she saw Julia, accompanied by Viscount and Viscountess Charte.
Erin exchanged a brief greeting with Viscount and Viscountess Charte.

“Thank you for attending today.”

“It’s been a long time since we’ve been to such a lovely gathering. We’re delighted to be here.”

Viscountess Charte replied to Erin’s greeting.

“I’m also very pleased to see Viscountess Charte frequently these days.”

Erin said lightly with a smile.

Until Julia found Viscount Charte, the couple only attended essential gatherings, barely showing their faces before leaving. It was a token of Erin’s joy that they began attending social events once Julia returned.

“Indeed. Starting now, I’ll have to attend even more diligently to make up for the times I couldn’t make it.”

Viscountess Charte, linking her arm with Julia, smiled brightly.

They exchanged a few more words when Lady Endernia, with whom Viscountess Charte was on friendly terms, greeted her warmly.

“Shall we have a chat with Lady Lienster?”

“Yes, let’s do that. Excuse us.”

Julia nodded with a smile.

After Viscount and Viscountess Charte left, Erin continued to converse with Julia alone.

“How was the banquet today?”

“The atmosphere was really lovely. I haven’t attended many before, but this one was the most impressive.”

Julia exclaimed.

“Thank you. I hope you enjoyed the banquet today.”

They continued with casual conversations, and then Erin’s gaze suddenly turned to Aiden.

Erin’s lips parted for a moment, and then she spoke significantly,

“Julia, my dear. How is Aiden?”

“Pardon?”

“My husband. The Duke of Lienster.”

Erin asked casually, but her expression was quite serious.

Julia’s eyes wandered before she finally spoke.
“He seems like a good person. The two of you seem very well-suited.”

Julia answered cautiously, pondering carefully.
Not knowing Aiden well, she could only speak about his appearance when he was with Erin.
But it suited Erin’s taste.

“Yes. We are like a painting together.”

“Yes, hahaha…”

Watching them, Julia laughed awkwardly.

“Others may find Aiden difficult, but to me, he is the most affectionate and wonderful person. I strive to become that kind of person too.”

Erin’s smile warmed at the thought of Aiden.

“Wow, I envy your relationship.”

In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that it was Julia who had planned the banquet in the first place to display her close relationship with Aiden.

Erin didn’t hesitate to become childish when it came to matters related to Aiden, although she was aware of the immaturity involved.

That’s why she exaggerated Aiden’s merits to Julia deliberately.

She boasted about how much Aiden liked her and the things he did for her.

She strongly emphasized that there was no way she could like anyone else. She wanted to show that there was no crack in her relationship with Aiden.

Of course, Julia was unaware of Erin’s intention. At first, she was a little flustered, but seeing Erin proudly boasting somehow pleased Julia.

It was pure admiration. Every time Erin talked proudly, Julia listened eagerly, her eyes sparkling, and offered words of admiration.

Each time, Erin became a little excited. As they chatted, Erin unintentionally found herself speaking sincerely about Aiden. Lost in conversation, Aiden came over and wrapped his arm around Erin’s shoulder.

When Erin turned around, the music for today’s first performance started playing. Aiden reached out his other hand to Erin.

“Would you sing a song with me?”

Nothing much , just a guy doing his best to make everyone happy. If you've liked my translation, leave a comment ❤️

Amazing translation as always. The only tiny issue is the changing title. Sometimes it’s duke/duchess at times count/earl so on. Other than that everything is good thank you❤️❤️❤️

PS: MC kinda cringey at times. Oh, the things we do for love..
