I Don’t Trust My Twin Sister

CHAPTER 143

“Lawrence!”

Ian ran to Lawrence’s empty seat, which disappeared in an instant, and stamped his foot. Despite the harsh roar and his angry voice, there was no change in the surroundings. Ian, who had been stomping her foot a few times as if he was protesting to give her away again, gritted his teeth and turned her head.

“Noire chem!”

Neuer had already closed his eyes and placed his hand on the wall. She had to go after her as soon as she disappeared, but since she didn’t know her level above her, the only thing she could rely on was Neuer’s clairvoyant ability.

Ian gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. His face was distorted with guilt as he bit his lip so hard that it bled.

‘He told me not to fall.’

He told Lawrence with his own mouth to stay by her side and not leave, but in reality, he was the one who walked away from her. When Viscount Ajstain appeared, she moved instinctively at the sound of her anxious voice and caught the fallen Shinhyeong, but at that moment, Lawrence disappeared in an instant, as if being dragged by her hook.

“Lawrence…”

“Grand Duke Berdian.”

Ian turned his head at the sound of Viscount Ajstain’s voice. Viscount Ajstain looked very haggard and tired, but her eyes shone clearly. He walked over, kneeling on the floor and placing his palms on the floor, looking aimlessly in the direction where his granddaughter, whom he cherished like his own life, had disappeared. His clothes were torn here and there, and he was full of residual wounds, as if he had been involved in a life-threatening incident while wandering around the tomb for a week. Ian, who was looking at the floor over his shoulder, heard the Viscount’s voice.

“What value does this old man have for coming all the way here? People who are important to Lawrence are also important to me. And Viscount Ajstain is a very meaningful person to me as he is also close to my father.”

“It means…”

He mulled over Ian’s words, muttered, and then smiled bitterly.

“What does it mean when my granddaughter is gone?”

“I will get it back. I can get it right away, so just wait, Viscount Ajstain.”

When Ian turned his head, Noyer, who had finished the projection just in time, turned his head. He made eye contact with Ian and then extended his hand and pointed in a direction. It was beyond the wall.

“That place?”

When Ian frowned and asked, Neuer sighed.

“Very faint. Very faintly, I can feel the presence of Lady Lawrence beyond that wall.”

“What is the way back?”

“doesn’t exist.”

“No?”

Neuer massaged his neck tiredly. clairvoyant, which requires an overall view, consumed an enormous amount of mental power. Because of this, I had the disadvantage of getting tired two or three times faster than usual. His hand on his neck was slow.

“Neuer…!”

“There is no way. I don’t know the details, but it seems like there is a room in the center. There is no way to get there.”

“So how did Lawrence get there? Does that mean she got through the wall?”

“If you ask me, that’s it.”

Neuer responded bluntly, then clicked his tongue lowly as if he was displeased, took a step back, and placed his hand on the ground.

“Even though she was stepping into the same cavity, only Lawrence disappeared in an instant. In other words, it would be correct to say that it was not her room that moved, but the ground she was standing on.”

Neuer tilted his head, tapping his foot here and there and punching his fist.

Ian was next to him, moving his hands to look for any traps or devices of some kind, but found nothing. He bit his lip, stamped his foot hard and ran his fingers through his hair.

“Damn it.”

Ian cursed lowly and turned his head. Viscount Ajstain, still sitting sadly, caught his eye. Ian approached Viscount Ajstain, placed his hand on his shoulder and bent his knee.

“Wake up, Viscount Ajstain, you need to get out of here and rest. If you hold on without eating or resting, you will collapse. When Lawrence returns, will she be happy to see Viscount Ajstain collapsed? “

“Her granddaughter is gone. Do you think her food will go down her throat? Do you think she can sleep comfortably on her feet!”

Ian looked tired as his voice became slightly sharper. It was equally impossible for him to make a calm judgment now that Lawrence had disappeared. His eyes narrowed.

“Do you know anything, Viscount Ajstain?”

“What do you mean?”

“Didn’t you mention earlier that you should avoid Lawrence before she disappears? It’s as if you knew something.”

Ian stared at Feldarn, who let out a low sigh. Before he knew it, his deeply sunken eyes appeared as if he had aged 10 years, showing deep fatigue. He felt sorry for him and wanted to refrain from talking, but he couldn’t avoid it.

“What do you know? What happened here?”

Viscount Ajstain turned his head to look at him, then looked up at the ceiling. His eyes were filled with sadness. Ian looked at him blankly as he didn’t open his mouth easily.

After waiting for a while, Viscount Ajstain’s mouth slowly opened.

“It was an explosion.”

“What kind of explosion was it? Was it a bomb? Did someone set it off artificially, or was it natural?”

“I don’t know the details. However, as if I had been waiting, the moment I passed through a narrow area, explosions chained and covered the surrounding area in an instant. Even when crossing a room, there might be a trap, so I had to check for hours and repeat before going there. I moved around randomly to avoid it, and it’s a wonder that I survived. Some people were caught in the explosion and died, while others fell into the trap.”

Feldarn laughed helplessly.

“Fortunately, my wounds weren’t too big, so I was able to look around. As I tried to move while avoiding traps, I got separated from my group. I wandered aimlessly in this huge maze-like place without a map or signpost. It was cruel because the number of people had decreased. There was plenty of drinking water and food.”

He closed his eyes tightly. His voice and expression, which were deeply filled with regret, evoked sadness.

“The price of ignoring her granddaughter’s words to be careful is so great…”

“It’s not Viscount Ajstain’s fault.”

Ian clicked his tongue lowly and shook his head. He glanced at Neuer, who was rolling his eyes again and performing the clairvoyant, and then his eyes turned to Viscount Ajstain again.

“Have you ever seen the room move?”

“No. There is none.”

“But how did you know that Lawrence would disappear?”

Viscount Ajstain pounded the floor.

“At that moment, I saw the floor move. The wall also moved. I watched it disappear along with the ground in an instant, like a frog catching an insect. You can’t even help your granddaughter who is walking away.”

Ian just looked at him blaming himself and shook his head. The current situation seemed burdensome to the already exhausted old man.

Fortunately, the man who appeared with Viscount Ajstain seemed to be in slightly better condition. Ian called the man and told him to wait outside the road with Viscount Ajstain and that the knight would come. He then returned to the Viscount and knelt before him.

“Lawrence is the Viscount’s granddaughter and my lover. She will return after finding her condition, so please wait.”

“I will stay here.”

“The room is dangerous. You’d better stay in the hallway.”

Viscount Ajstain’s eyes rolled and glanced at Ian. The Viscount, who was staring at his hardened eyes, closed his eyes slightly and nodded as if he understood. Only then did he stand up and slowly leave the room, supported by another man. Ian, who sensed that it was now his turn, approached Neuer. After finishing the fluoroscopy, Neuer pressed his tired eyes and opened his mouth.

“No, I guess I’ll have to drill through the wall.”

“…Here?”

He asked, pointing to this wall. When Nouer nodded his head, Ian drew his sword. His sword pointed in the direction Nouer pointed. After a while, the sword body began to turn red. Ian glanced at the sword and then stabbed it into the wall. The sword entered the wall made of hard stone, as if cutting tofu, and was slowly cut as he applied force. Eventually, with the sound of a stone falling, a passage large enough for two people to pass through was created. The empty space beyond the wall filled the eyes of the two people.

Ian took a breath and moved his legs.

“Let’s go.”

* * *

I was standing in the dark in a daze, looking around. Since I was pulled in in an instant, it was not easy to tell where I was. It was difficult to maintain balance in the tremendous roar and shaking of the new model.

I looked around, but I couldn’t see anything that seemed familiar. If I really have to look for it, it’s like a huge protrusion.

I turned my eyes to look around and bit my lip slightly.

“What on earth is this…”

The joy of finding her grandfather did not last long. Now that I was a lost child, I was ready to go crazy and be crazy.

Should I sit still? I thought about it for a moment.

Since Neuer has the ability to see, it will be easier for Ian to figure out my location if I stand or sit still. He was sure that Ian and Neuer would come to his rescue soon. But it was unclear how long it would take.

I rummaged through my bag and checked for drinking water and food. It was generously prepared and contained six bundles. Since it was a light cookie and bread, there was no need to worry about it going bad. It would be right to wait.

I put my bag back on my back and looked around. As I got used to the darkness, the surrounding scenery slowly came into view.

A huge shadow in the distance caught my eye. I looked at him with my eyes wide open and then narrowed them straight down. Only then did the outline of the shadow become a little clearer.

“A building?”

It was a big building. The cave I am in now has a higher ceiling than other places. The ceiling was wide enough to be on the 4th or 5th floor of an ordinary building. But a building within a building… Ian’s words about this being a temple and not a tomb came to mind again.

I wondered for a moment whether I should go in or not. I was afraid that there might be some kind of trap or strange creature lurking there, so I didn’t hesitate to step down. But I couldn’t just stand here forever. Since there was no guarantee that the place I was standing in would be safe, the thought that it would be better to take some shelter first came into my mind.

Should I move or not? Standing at a crossroads where there was no answer, I thought for a moment and then moved my legs. Rather than just standing here, it would be better to understand the surrounding geography.

Compared to what I thought was a fairly far away building, I was able to get there quickly. Did it seem particularly far away because it was dark?

I raised my head and looked at the building. Looking up close, it doesn’t look that big and feels like a two-story house?

Although it was dimly visible due to the lack of a lamp, looking at the reliefs on the surface, I thought that it was probably richly carved. The surroundings were dark, so he slowly moved along the wall and grabbed the round part that appeared to be Boone’s handle.

Many thoughts went back and forth. Should I open it or not? Should I just open it and see blood? Should I just wait here?

I hesitated, thinking about a million things, and then lifted my chin.

“There is no answer anyway…”

I’ve come this far, I can’t give up. I put pressure on my hand and turned it slowly.
