Jane looked around the mansion excitedly as Theodore gazed fondly at her. If it wasn’t for Rachels presence, he would have hugged and kissed her right there on the spot.

Rachel could almost hear the conversation taking place within their gazes. Once Theodore was out of sight, Jace’s eyes locked with Rachel’s. Rachel just smiled.

“So, Jane, shall we head to the parlor to wait?”

In the original story, Rachel took Jane to the best parlor, the largest most beautiful room in the mansion. It was reserved for important guests, no one else was allowed in.

Desperate to be loved by Theodore, Rachel would go out of her way to entertain any guest he brought, even if it was a young woman.

Rachel took Jane to the parlor closest to the hall. Later, Theodore would probably demand to know why she had brought the guest there, but it wasn’t something she was worried about. Jane lived in a nice house for a commoner, but she didn’t know the ins and outs of a noblemen’s mansion.
