IBOTDI Episode 87

IBOTDI | Episode 87

<Episode 87>

After releasing his desire, Elkais held Eveline tightly. She closed her eyes as he embraced her with such force that it felt as though she might break, his ragged breaths echoing in her ears.

“Haa…”

“Ah…”

Eveline let out a heated sigh as his warmth seeped into her.

“Ugh… this… why does it feel so…”

When he finally let her go, Eveline gasped, startled by the sharp pain radiating through her lower body.

“I’m sorry,” he said, staring at her intently, his face still flushed with heat.

Eveline’s face grew warm under his unwavering gaze.

“Why are you still like that?” she asked, embarrassed by the way he propped himself up on his elbow beside her head, looking down at her as if he wanted to kiss her again, even though the act was over.

His deep, piercing eyes made her flush as she spoke.

Even now, she could still hear his low moans from when he reached his peak, echoing in her ears. His husky voice felt like it was wreaking havoc inside her mind.

“I need to stay like this for a while,” he replied.

“Ugh… it hurts when you move,” she muttered.

“I’m sorry. This wasn’t intentional.”

Elkais sounded genuine, and his expression matched his tone. Not all Alphas experienced knotting after every connection, but this time, he couldn’t control it.

This had been his first time, and his suppressed desire to imprint on Eveline had overwhelmed him, leaving his body to react on its own.

“If I were a Beta… ugh… if I were a Beta, I think I really might have died,” Eveline whispered weakly.

Eveline had spoken because every movement he made felt as though her insides were being stirred up.

Then, she suddenly noticed something strange: the way her abdomen protruded slightly in the gap between his chest and hers, as if there were something alive inside.

“Haa…”

Elkais let out a sigh, and Eveline’s exhale seemed to pull him back to reality in an instant.

Eveline found it odd that she wasn’t angry about what had happened—about how he, in a state of amnesia, had acted so recklessly with her.

While she might have lost herself due to her rising body temperature, Elkais had been fully conscious the entire time.

Perhaps it was her pheromones that had bewitched him.

She thought their connection, with his lost memories, was purely physical, offering nothing beyond fleeting pleasure. Unlike her, she assumed he saw it as nothing more.

“I’m sorry, Elkais,” she said softly.

“For what?”

“For controlling you with my pheromones.”

She had said it, hoping he would deny it. But deep down, Eveline knew he couldn’t refute it—not when his memories were incomplete.

“What about what you said earlier? When you told me you loved me?”

Elkais surprised even himself by asking. He desperately wanted confirmation from her, needing clarity amidst the confusion of his emotions.

He thought he must be losing his mind. With his memories erased, all he had were bad impressions of Eveline.

And yet, every time they kissed, every time they touched, it felt inexplicably familiar, like she was a longtime lover. The act itself might have been new, but his heart reacted as if it had cherished her feelings for ages. When they became one, it felt right, like it was meant to be.

Elkais instinctively knew that even if he were to hold another Omega, the love and intimacy he shared with Eveline could never be matched.

Not because she was an Omega, but because of who she was. Her gaze, her voice, her tone that pretended to be indifferent but held concern, her every small and grand action—they were all so undeniably lovable to him.

He had chased after her from the start for that very reason.

Unaware of it himself, he couldn’t bear the thought of Eveline running away from him, so he pursued her.

He dismissed it as an Alpha’s instinct to follow an Omega, but it was far more than that. What drove him surpassed mere instinct—it was his heart.

An overwhelming, undeniable emotion that could neither be controlled nor hidden.

It had to be Eveline.

Was it desire, or was it love?

“Ugh… don’t move, it hurts.”

“Answer me, Eveline.”

Eveline spoke because the pain flared each time he moved his hips. The fullness inside her was too much to bear, and every motion made her feel as if her insides were being crushed.

“Elkais…”

When the pain subsided briefly, she looked straight into his eyes. The emotions reflected in them remained unchanged.

It was undoubtedly love.

“You said you’d stop if I told you.”

“Ah, yes, I did say that.”

But Eveline thought that her feelings didn’t matter to him at this moment. He wouldn’t accept them anyway.

Even as he looked down at her like he loved her, in the end, he would deny it.

“What were you feeling when you embraced me?”

Elkais, wanting confirmation again, spoke as though rejecting her earlier response.

“I was cold. I didn’t want to die like that.”

Elkais looked at her intently, hurt by her words.

He sighed, knowing her blatant lie, and waited for her to refute it. Eveline hesitated, then opened her mouth and spoke.

“What about you, Elkais? I might’ve been cold, but you were in your right mind.”

“I…”

He couldn’t comprehend his feelings for Eveline at all.

“I thought it was my fault you lost your body heat.”

“Ah, I see. So you felt so guilty that you gave up even your first time to apologize.”

Elkais said nothing. He glanced at the bloodstains near her thighs, realizing she wasn’t so different from him after all.

“Yes. I’m sorry.”

Elkais spoke, hoping she would feel the same pain he did.

“Alright.”

But he couldn’t hold back his feelings any longer and blurted them out.

“I love you, Eveline.”

Eveline’s eyes widened in shock at his words.

“But, Elkais…”

“I don’t even understand myself right now. I want to believe you when you say I’ve lost my memories.”

“…”

“Even if I don’t believe it, I still like you—not because you’re an Omega, but because you’re you. It feels like I’m losing my mind.”

Eveline’s eyes filled with tears. They spilled over, running down her temples, but she didn’t wipe them away. Instead, she glared at him.

“Can you tell me what I was like before I lost my memories?”

“Before…”

Elkais waited for her response, gently wiping away her tears with his hand.

“You weren’t kind, not that I recall…”

“I see.”

“But just before you lost them, you were kind. I used to think that if I were ever to imprint with someone, I’d want it to be with you.”

Eveline spoke her hidden thoughts, feeling encouraged by Elkais’s earlier honesty.

“Then why did you stop me from imprinting?”

“I didn’t want to imprint with someone who doesn’t remember me.”

And even if you do regain your memories, I still wouldn’t want to imprint with you.

She swallowed the final thought.

This island was created by the gods. Elkais had lost his memories, and he was meant to kill her. Just as she was supposed to kill him.

“Do you think my feelings for you would change, whether I remember or not?”

“Ah…”

Eveline found his words unbearably sweet, making the situation even harder to bear. Love, in a moment where they might need to kill each other, felt like cruelty.

“Please take it out already. I’ve reached my limit.”

“I’m sorry. But it’s still not time.”

He shifted his hips slightly, but the knot wouldn’t loosen, causing only more pain for Eveline.

“Ugh…”

“We’ll have to wait a little longer.”

With his warm, tender tone, he kissed her eyes again. Eveline was both afraid and delighted by his newfound gentleness, which felt deeper than before.

“Why, as an Alpha, have you never been with other Omegas?” she asked, glancing at the pinkish fluid on her thighs.

An Alpha who had never been intimate with an Omega before produced pink-colored fluid, and Eveline realized once again that this was his first time.

“Because I found such acts repulsive.”

“…”

“But now that I know how good it feels… No, I still wouldn’t have done it. It couldn’t have been this good.”

“How can you be so sure?”

Elkais chuckled softly, a small sigh of relief escaping him. He felt happy, as though Eveline’s question hinted at jealousy over imaginary Omegas.

“Do you think the reason I love you is simply because of this act?”

“Then what is it?”

“I love your voice, the way you speak, and even the fleeting glimmer in your eyes when you look at me. Everything feels new, yet I love you like I’ve known you forever.”

Eveline couldn’t bring herself to say anything more after that.

A few minutes later, the knotting ended, and Elkais lay beside her, pulling her into his arms.

“Your body temperature will drop, so I’ll hold you.”

“It’s hot right now, and I wonder whose fault that is.”

“Haha.”

Elkais laughed at her words and held her until she fell asleep.

Eventually, both of them, utterly exhausted, drifted off.

The next morning, Eveline woke first.

She stared at the note placed before her. Then, wearing only Elkais’s coat, she slipped away, leaving him asleep.

She left without considering how desperately he might search for her.
