<Episode 21>
My thoughts were gradually becoming hazy. I’m clearly a beta, so why do I feel so strange, like the alphas who start rutting cycles?
Even though I kept telling myself it’s absolutely wrong, I couldn’t help but think it wouldn’t be so bad to be approached by two handsome men in the rain.
Getting a little closer wouldn’t be so bad, right?
“Eve.”
“Eveline.”
Feeling like I couldn’t be in my right mind, I pressed the barrel of the gun against my wrist.
“Ugh…”
The barrel was scorching hot, perhaps because it hadn’t been fired for long. It felt like I would get burned, but I purposely didn’t remove it.
At that moment, the rain stopped.
My body still felt hot, and it seemed like molten lava was pouring into my mind, erasing all thoughts. But perhaps due to the pain, I could hold on to a bit of consciousness.
“Do you want to imprint me?”
“Yeah.”
“Huh.”
It was eerie how we both answered at the same time, but for some reason, it felt okay.
It was as if two delicious dishes were asking me what I wanted to choose.
No, you can’t. You’re not an animal.
But humans are a kind of animal too.
It felt like there were two personalities fighting in my head.
“Let’s give a chance to the person bringing the suppressants from the cabin.”
At that moment, Abellard moved first towards the burning cabin.
Thud!
Elkais grabbed Abellard by the neck like a madman and threw him towards the trees. Then, with flames roaring and billowing black smoke, he went into the burning cabin.
“Fuck…..!”
Abellard also went into the cabin.
My wrist hurt too much. I was about to follow them into the burning cabin, but barely regained my senses and headed towards the lake behind me.
Come to think of it, I felt like I regained my senses when I washed off in the waterfall.
Rumble!
“Shit.”
My body was feeling strange, making it difficult to walk. Moreover, the wedding dress soaked with water felt heavy like cotton, as if it were dragging me to the ground.
Normally, I would have taken it off. But I didn’t want Elkais and Abellard to chase after me like crazy people.
As their faces came to mind again, I wanted to go back to the cabin with my heart pounding.
I took off my coat. Then, I broke a nearby branch and tightly wrapped it around my wrist.
Although it wasn’t as deep as if it had been cut with a knife, blood was gushing out of the scraped wound.
“Ha.”
The pain seemed to bring a bit of clarity back to my mind.
Thud!
I knew there was a tremendous noise behind me, but I didn’t turn around. Considering what I saw earlier, they might be fighting each other.
Elkais, the spear that sees through everything, and Abellard, the shield that blocks everything.
They’ll figure it out on their own.
Please don’t follow me.
No, it’s okay if you do. It would be nice for the three of us to play together now.
“You’re crazy! Please stop!”
It felt like two people were wrestling in one body, like Jekyll and Hyde.
“Ugh…!”
I tripped over a branch lying on the ground. In an instant, a red piece of paper appeared in my wet palm.
Desperately unfolding it, there were words written inside.
[Use sacred power beneath the lake.]
“We have to bring Abellard”
“Too bad, I’m coming.”
Elkais was saying so, but he was smiling.
Right in front of me was the lake. But Elkais was so handsome that I didn’t want to think about the lake or anything else.
Even though his black hair was wet with water, he casually swept it aside. Somehow, his perfect beauty seemed to shine even brighter.
The two red pupils, glaring as if they could devour me, were also sparkling like jewels.
Just facing those eyes full of desire made my heart beat fast.
“Why did you come here, Eibhneas?”
“I wanted to wash.”
“Ah.”
He smiled brightly and lifted me up, then took me to the lake.
“Before, you said I was heavier than a jaguar.”
“That’s a lie. I wanted to devour you because you smell so good.”
Seeing his smile made me feel even more pure. It was like the most delicious food in the world was tempting me to eat it.
“Hug me.”
“Yes.”
I obediently followed his command.
Despite being hit by cold rainwater, his neck, face, and ears were very warm. His gaze felt even warmer, which made me feel strange.
“Let’s bathe together.”
“Okay.”
He touched my wedding dress.
“Eugh…”
He ripped it apart.
I left the gun by the lake, fearing it might be dangerous.
He tore everything apart except for the negligee.
Although I was left wearing only the negligee, it felt refreshing rather than embarrassing.
“Take it off, Eibhneas.”
“You can undress yourself.”
“Okay.”
He roughly untied the cravat and almost tore off the shirt with lots of buttons.
I went into the water first.
When the water reached my waist, I started to feel a little more clear-headed.
So, I completely submerged myself.
Seeing lots of fish that I saw last time underwater, and being completely submerged, my mind was fully restored.
Washing in the water brings back your senses!
I felt instantly refreshed.
But I couldn’t breathe, so I had to get out of the water.
“Puhaha…!”
Elkais was only wearing pants but smiled happily when he saw me.
“Come here.”
“Finish undressing.”
“Don’t undress, just come in right away.”
“Alright.”
He was more dignified than I had expected.
Despite laughing like a maniac, he seemed shy, which made me feel strange.
I wondered how he would be once he regained his senses like me.
“Come further. Submerge your head and come out.”
“Got it.”
Elkais came to where I was deep in the water. The lake was shallow at the beginning but deepened as you went further into the center.
His head disappeared underwater. It took a while for him to resurface.
“Have you come to your senses?”
“…”
He had a subtle expression on his face. It was clear he had regained his senses.
Rumble!
“We need to use divine power under the lake.”
“What’s this all of a sudden?”
“We need Brother Abellard.”
“Am I needed after all?”
He said if he spoke, he would come. Abellard was approaching, carrying suppressants, in a battered state.
“He’s disqualified. He didn’t bring suppressants.”
It seemed like he had been through a fight; his clothes were torn and he was covered in blood. However, there were no visible wounds among the torn clothes, indicating that he had used divine power.
“Yes, Brother won. So could you please use divine power under here?”
“Then kiss me.”
“Yes.”
Turning bullets into kisses.
He approached with an innocent face.
Elkais went near the ground, took the sword and the gun, and swam back.
Then he handed me the gun.
Normally, I would have worried about the gun touching the water. Guns were very delicate machines.
Most guns would still work fine even if they got wet or submerged. However, I had to be careful since I didn’t know when I would get another gun in this situation where I might lose my gun at any time.
But now that I knew it would reappear in a week at 12 o’clock, I decided to believe that it would be fine even if I put it in the water and boiled it.
I just needed to dry it before shooting.
“When did you learn to use magic?”
“Since coming here.”
“I see. So that’s why you could go into the forest back then.”
“Yes.”
Elkais was looking at me with a bitter expression for some reason.
“But this won’t fire if it gets wet.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes.”
“And it takes a long time to dry it again.”
As he said that, his expression seemed to soften a bit. He seemed more human every time he got wet in the rain.
“Eve, I can’t swim.”
“…”
Abellard couldn’t come into the water and just stood still on the bank.
Then Elkais sighed and went over to the bank.
And then…
“Hey! What are you doing?”
He tripped Abellard’s legs with his thick arms and dragged him over. The suppressants he was holding rolled onto the ground.
Rumble!
“Hurry, it looks like rain’s coming.”
“Okay.”
“Ah! Let me go!”
Abellard seemed genuinely scared of the water. But Elkais ignored his cries and pushed him into the water.
Seeing the bubbles bubbling up made me feel a little sorry.
“Phew!”
When he emerged from the water, Abellard hugged me immediately.
“Eve…! That lunatic tried to kill me…!”
“I see.”
“I’m in so much pain. So, kiss me now.”
“It seems like you haven’t finished washing up yet.”
“Right.”
“No! Wait, ugh…!”
Elkais pushed his head underwater, but his hand still held my wrist.
I didn’t know what he was saying underwater, but more bubbles of air were rising.
“Phew!”
This time, after coming out of the water, he just hugged me silently. It seemed to be because of Elkais, who was glaring fiercely behind me.
“Hu… Eve…!”
“Use divine power under here.”
“Huh… on the ground?”
“Yes.”
As Abellard moved behind me, it seemed that Elkais looked threatening, which was why he did so.
Shooosh!
The rain started pouring down again.
“Ah, Elkais…?”
His gaze momentarily changed, then he bit down on the neck.
“I want to do it too.”
Abellard also lost his mind just the same.
WHAAAAAAT? THEY BITE HER NECK?
Did they bite HER neck?*
