I Became a Mother of Three

IBMOT Chapter 9

Episode 9

“Is this enough?”

Erina asked, looking back at the empty lot.

“Yes, that’s enough.”

“Hey, but is it okay if you just show it to me like this?”

Wasn’t this really a big secret? It was written that dragons were reluctant to show themselves.

Erina recalled what she had seen in <Legend of the Strongest Dragon>, which she had previously purchased, and expressed her doubts.

“It doesn’t matter. I am not hiding it.”

There was no one in the imperial capital who didn’t already know about his identity, so he had nothing to worry about.

To be honest, it was easier for Dylan to live in his true form rather than in a stuffy human being.

However, the only problem was that his main body was too large to fit into a typical residence.

“Kyuuu!”

Meanwhile, Resen called Erina.

They all seemed dissatisfied with leaving them alone to talk to their uncle.

Erina quickly hugged Resen and the other dragons and whispered.

“Look guys, you are going to see a real adult dragon, ok? If you eat a lot and sleep well, you will grow up like to be……!”

Whoosh.

While she was explaining this to the dragons, a strong wind blew.

Erina instinctively closed her eyes tightly. She didn’t forget to hug the dragons tightly in case they got hurt by the strong wind.

After some time, Erina slowly opened her eyes, sensing the air quieten.

There was something huge standing in front of her.

“Ha…….”

A short exclamation flowed from Erina’s mouth. Its enormous body was as big as Erina’s house, and the silver-white scales that made up its body were shining brilliantly in the sunlight.

Nevertheless, the cold blue eyes did not change, and she immediately knew that this large dragon was Dylan.

Erina blinked as she looked at the man who changed from a human to a dragon in an instant.

The wind blew and all her hair came loose, but she was so shocked that she didn’t notice.

“Kyaaa!”

“Ba boo boo!!!”

“Muak!!”

On the other hand, the dragons each screamed in Erina’s arms, as if they were even more motivated to fight.

Dylan, who was saw this, snorted.

Whooosh!

Then the wind blew again, and Erina’s hair flew in the wind.

“……?”

Dylan’s pupils became vertically elongated.

I kind of like that hair.

Dylan smacked his lips as he looked at her hair shining in the sunlight.

It was the perfect sparkle to have at home.1That’s hilarious 🤣.

And that greed was passed down to the baby dragons.

Resen, Lia, and Poi, who were in Erina’s arms, began to scream and cry even more than before.

“Hey guys, what’s wrong? Is it because you’re scared?”

Erina, who was surprised at this, tried to calm the dragons, but that only made them cry harder.

Dylan sighed briefly and returned to his human form.

“The kids are so loud.”

This time too, it happened in an instant.

Dylan spoke, his long shadow covering Erina.

“No, hey! When you transform back, wear something….”

To be honest, she was worried that he might come back naked, but fortunately, the man was fully clothed like before.

Dylan couldn’t help but laugh at the absurd comment about his attire.

The children in her arms were crying and screaming, and the man next to her was laughing.

What kind of situation was this?

Erina’s head felt dizzy. She felt like she needed to calm the kids down first and then talk to the man again.

Erina laid the children, who were tired from crying, in their nests.

She felt frustrated because the man was watching closely from the side, but she couldn’t complain since he said he was the children’s guardian.

“Hey, can I talk to you for a moment?”

She was out of her mind earlier so she just skipped over it.

Thus, Erina called Dylan to the table to ask her questions.

The man, who was looking at the sleeping baby dragons, nodded and sat down at the table.

The table, which felt wide when Erina and the baby dragons were eating, changed its size as soon as the man sat down.

Anyway, he was different from ordinary people in many ways.

Erina believed that if she tried to understand him based on his appearance, she’ll end up with a headache.

“I’d like to ask Mr. Dylan a few questions.”

“Mr. Dylan….”

It was an unfamiliar title to the man who had only heard the words ‘Dylan’, ‘Harrison’s second son’, and ‘Master’.

“Oh, did I get the name wrong?”

“No. It’s not like that, so don’t worry.”

Dylan smiled quietly as he looked at Erina who was confused by his reaction.

The fact that the title was different from what he was used to in the Empire was something he had to adapt to, not something Erina had to change.

“You say you want to take the kids now. To be honest, I know you’re a dragon, but I’m still not sure if you are really their family or not.”

“Well, if you look at this, I think it might be of some help.”

The man took out a small pendant from his bosom.

There were two people drawn inside, a man with blue hair and a woman with red hair.

“This is my older brother, and this is his partner. You should know because you take care of the children. They have the same color as the two of them.”

It was as he said.

It was said that red and blue vary greatly from person to person, but the hair color of the man and woman depicted in the portrait in the pendant was the same as Resen and Lia. Poi seemed to be a mixture of those two colors.

These people, no, they were dragons. Their parents. Erina’s heart became heavy as she looked at the portrait with a bright smile.

This feels so bad. My heart is filled with regret.

“Yes, they really are the same colors as the kids.”

“The characteristics dragons are born with aren’t known in detail, but like humans we are greatly influenced by our parents. So, those guys should be my nephews as they have a lot in common with my brother and his wife”

As he spoke, the emotions he felt when he first saw his nephews welled up inside Dylan. How long did his brother and his brother’s wife wait for their new family members?

Even thinking about it again, he felt sick because he felt like he had killed that guy so gracefully.

“I see. I think their parents would have been really happy if they had seen the kids.”

“I’m sure they would have loved it so much that they would have held a banquet for several days.”

The man who answered that way had a small smile on his face.

It was there, but it couldn’t hide the underlying loneliness.

Looking at Dylan’s face, Erina wondered what to say to comfort him.

She herself lost her only family member a few months ago.

No one could comfort her from the sense of loss and fear at that time.

All she could do was to comfort herself and stand on her feet again.

That’s why Erina was even more grateful to Resen, Lia, and Poi. Thanks to the dragons, it wasn’t too hard and she wasn’t lonely.

The only thing she was sad about was that the time to break up with them, had come sooner than she thought.

“Well, how did the dragons come to me then? I don’t get how it happened.”

Erina’s head tilted to the side.

No matter how much she thought about it, the location of the dragon eggs was so unexpected.

The forest where Erina lived was not a capital city with many nobles, nor was it a place where other dragons lived.

Why on earth did they end up in such a remote countryside?

“My brother probably tried to send them to me at first. However, as the situation became more urgent, he tried to send them to the farthest place possible, so I guess that’s how they ended up here.”

“Ah… that’s how it happened.”

Erina’s head moved up and down.

Since dragons were good at using magic, she concluded that he must have moved them through space.

“But it’s complicated to explain how I found out and came here.”

Dylan was clearly aware of the differences between the dragon race and humans.

Most of the things that were possible to a dragon were difficult for humans to understand, and even if he tried to explain everything to them, they couldn’t understand it.

All the people he had met so far were like that, and Erina in front of him seemed to be the same too.

As expected, Erina was not curious about anything more than that.

It was because what he had just said was enough to complicate her thoughts.

“Then why don’t you take the kids and leave right away?”

“I guess it has to be that way. If we delay longer than this, it may be difficult to move.”

They had to be brought in as soon as possible in order to determine the next head of the ‘Harrison family’.

The reason Dylan came so quickly was to show his vassals that his nephews would lead the Harrison family instead of him.

People naturally thought that Dylan would become the next head of the family, but he never had any intention of becoming the head of the family, not in the past nor in the future.

Most of the reasons why he went to war and contributed in it were personal.

It was not for the Emperor or the family.

Even if he repeatedly said that there was no such grand purpose and that it was his brother who made the contract, people still didn’t believe him.

Up until now, his older brother, who was the subject of the contract, had taken on that role, but now that his older brother was gone, he had to bring in a new head of the family to replace him as quickly as possible.

That’s why he came to visit his nephews as soon as he arrived in the Empire after the war.

As it turned out, it was an extremely selfish reason, but there was no need to tell the human woman about that.

He just wanted to get out of his current situation as quickly as possible.
