I Became a Mother of Three

IBMOT Chapter 8

Episode 8

“What?”

“What?”

“What?”

They were, for a moment, tied in a situation where they only exchanged questions, not knowing what to say.

Dylan was surprised by the attitude of asking the obvious question as if she was really curious, and Erina was surprised by the fact that a dragon could look so normal and human.

“Didn’t I say that they are my brother’s children? Then, of course, I am a dragon because I have the same bloodline.”

“I guess……?”

“No, but aren’t you too human?”

Erina asked as she looked at Dylan from head to toe.

As she felt before, there were no traces of reptile features anywhere on his face, which made it hard to call him a dragon.

She couldn’t understand how dragons born from eggs could look like normal people.

Even in the book Erina read, there was no mention of a dragon that turned into a human. That made her even more suspicious.

“Ah! If it’s because of my appearance, of course I also have my main body. It’s just that I take on a human appearance to make life easier.”

A main body….

Then does it mean that this man have wings and shiny eyes like Poi, Resen and Lia?

She was filled with curiosity, but Erina nodded first. The world was wide, and her knowledge was limited. So it was best to just assume that such cases do happen and move on.

“Okay.”

“Anyway, that’s why I’m late. I hope you don’t misunderstand, I never intentionally neglected the children or came late to harass them.”

At the man’s earnest words, Erina quietly put aside her anger.

“Then can you communicate with the kids?”

Erana, who still couldn’t understand most of what the dragons were saying, asked.

“Of course.”

“Well, then, do you remember what you said earlier about swearing on your name?”

‘Swearing on your name?’, it wasn’t something he said lightly.

While Dylan was wondering whether he should correct her or not, Erina opened the door.

“I believe that. Just make sure you promise not to do anything to the kids!”

“Of course, and thank you.”

With Erina’s permission, Dylan was able to enter the house again.

And what a sight he saw.

The blue dragon climbed up to the shelf and was eating ham.

The red dragon was climbing the wall to catch a spider in the corner of the ceiling.

Lastly, the purple dragon was sitting at the table and crying, looking for Erina.1Typical children 😂.

“This……!”

Dylan, shocked by his nephews’ behavior, let out a sigh.

However, Erina seemed to think this was normal and began to take care of the blue dragon first.

“Resen, we said that eating ham on its own is bad for your health because it’s salty, right? If you want to eat it, you have to eat it with bread. Now, come down quickly and let’s eat some bread together.”

“Lia, what are you going to do if spider webs get tangled in your wings like last time? I’ll catch the spider later. Let’s play with the spider then, okay?”

“Poi, were you scared to be left alone? Come here, I’ll give you a hug. Look, you cried so much that your eyes are red again. Here you go, that’s a good boy.”

As Erina began to move around, the dragons calmly followed her words.

Resen sat at the table and ate bread and ham, and Lia sat on the floor and played with mushrooms instead of spiders.

Poi was also hugged by Erina and calmed down as if he had never cried before.

“Well, Miss…….”

“My name is Erina. Come to think of it, I didn’t tell you earlier, right?”

Erina said as Dylan hesitated, not knowing what to call her.

Dylan nodded and asked.

“Yes, Miss Erina. My nephews2Now we know it’s a gender neutral word, I will leave it as it is as ‘my brother’s children’ is too stiff.…… They are not always like this, right?”

He said in a tone of genuine curiosity.

Erina responded indifferently to Dylan’s words.

“It’s been 3 months since they were born, so of course this is their daily routine. Is it because the kids are too quiet? I was a bit worried about that too. I once took care of children in the village for a while, but at that time, every minute was a war.”

“Yes……?”

“But these kids are so kind and gentle that I sometimes wondered if they were just holding back even though I wanted to do more for them. Ah! That’s a great chance, can you please ask the kids about that?”

That wasn’t it.

Just now, Dylan wanted to ask why dragons, a race that was said to have been blessed with all kinds of knowledge and gifts since birth, were acting like idiots.

Erina, who understood this in a completely different way, said that she was worried that the kids were too quiet.

Dylan tried to hide his embarrassment and smiled.

He really shouldn’t show that he was speechless about his nephews’ appearance before.

“That’s right, they are quite young.”

“But there’s nothing they couldn’t learn as they are so smart. They make their blankets on their own, help me pick mushrooms. They also sleep so well!”3That’s a proud mama!

Erina smiled proudly as she looked at the dragons who had already gathered by her side.

The more he saw, the more confused Dylan became.

His nephews’ actions were completely opposite to the characteristics of the dragon race.

He was also a dragon, but dragons were originally a selfish race that knew nothing but themselves, and at the same time, they were eccentric, disliked troublesome things, and were often impulsive.

He didn’t even know when or why they started to be like that. That’s how he was born, and he lived that way for hundreds of years.

However, his nephews listened to the nagging of the human woman, no, Erina, and followed her, and even relied on her.

He couldn’t understand the psychological state of those nephews.

He didn’t think he could ever figure it out.

“By the way, I think you gave the kids names.”

Dylan skipped over the complicated stuff first. He, too, was a dragon who hated annoying things.

“Yes, I did name them. But maybe they already have different names, or someone outside your family shouldn’t give them names, or something like that……??”

Erina looked at Dylan.

It might even be obligatory for dragons to be given special names. It was full of unknowns, so she was needlessly being cautious.

“No. On the contrary, I am grateful.”

Dylan was truly grateful that he had less work to do.

Of course, it seemed like brother and his wife had at least given the eggs some nicknames.

However, they weren’t their official names, and he didn’t particularly pay attention to them, so he couldn’t remember them.

At that time, he thought it was natural for his brother and his wife to take care of his nieces and nephews. So he wasn’t interested.

What if he he had to give his nephews new names? Dylan was bothered just thinking about it.

“I make a living by picking mushrooms, and it just so happens that the kids’ scales are of similar colors to mushrooms, so I named the dragons after them. It’s okay, right……?”

“Ah, aha. I see.”

Erina whispered the words as if they were great secrets.

Mushroom names…. mushrooms…

Dylan clenched his teeth to keep himself from laughing out loud. Throughout the history, you wouldn’t find a dragon named after a mushroom.

Of course, it was something that would never happen in the future as well. Fortunately, abilities were not determined by name.

After hearing the secret behind the names, Dylan looked at his nephews with pitiful eyes.

However, the baby dragons seemed to be very proud of their name, as they flapped their wings and said, ‘Rara!’, ‘Liii’, and ‘Pooo’.

“The kids seem to really like it.”

“Yes, fortunately.”

Erina did not reveal the secret behind Poi’s name. It was better that way to maintain the peace of the world.

Anyway, since the kids liked it and Dylan had no intention of giving them new names, she thought they could end the name discussion here.

“Well, thank you so much. I think I’ll have to take the kids now. I am not in a situation where I can be away for a long time.”

Dylan bowed neatly and then stood up.

Erina asked, surprised by the unexpected and early separation.

“A-already? You’re leaving so soon?!”

“I confirmed that the children are healthy and that I am their uncle, so I should go now, right?”

Erina hugged the dragons at the man’s careless tone.

“No! Ah, not yet!!”

“Hmm? Why is that? Do you still not believe me?”

Dylan’s eyes narrowed. Following that, his pupils narrowed vertically.

Erina flinched at the change in his eyes that she hadn’t noticed before.

“Kyaa!”

“Paaa!!”

“Mamma!!”

The dragons must have felt her tension and protested something to Dylan. They were yelling at him not to bother Erina.

Dylan let out a ridiculous laugh as he looked at his own blood relatives hurling at him.

It was funny how these guys, who were barely worth a bite, rebelled.

They were treating their real biological guardian so poorly because of a person they had only been with for 3 months.

Dylan decided to show them his real body in order to ease Erina’s suspicions and teach his nephews, who were ignorant, whose hands they should hold.

“Is there a large open space near here?”

“A vacant space?”

“Yes, it seems like you still don’t trust me, so I think I should show you that I’m really a dragon.”

Erina shook her head.

She fully understood that this man was a dragon. Although trust him was a slightly different issue.

She just said this because she was sad and startled that they had to break up so quickly. She was not sure why, but it seemed like the man’s pride was hurt at that.

“No, you don’t have to show it……!”

“No. I will definitely show you. I think that would make things go quicker.”

Dylan spoke while looking at his nephews, not Erina.

He was going to see if they continued their foolish acts after seeing his real body.

She could sense the stubbornness of the man in front of her that was comparable to that of the baby dragons.

Erina sighed briefly.

“If that’s what you want, there’s an empty lot nearby.”

“Please guide me.”

The man got up first, opened the door, and waited for Erina to come out.

She felt it from the first time she saw him, but he was a very polite person, no, dragon.

In the end, Erina headed to the clearing with three baby dragons and one adult dragon on her back.
