I Became a Mother of Three

IBMOT Chapter 23

Episode 23

Only a few days later, Dylan began to realize the gravity of the situation he had taken lightly.

“Master Dylan!”

The office door flew open with a bang.

The people who came through that door were Mitzu and Hael.

Dylan looked up at them with his eyes wide open, then lowered his gaze back to the documents.

“Listen to me!”

“Look!”

Mitzu and Hael gritted their teeth as they watched Dylan not flinching at their words.

Even though he was their lord, they couldn’t stand it

They came running, but he didn’t even give them a glance, let alone any attention.

What did that annoying attitude mean!

“Maaasterr Dylan!”

Bang bang!

Mitzu kicked his foot with such force that the floor shook.

Dylan’s eyebrows furrowed in an expression of resentment at the unacceptable act of violence.

Hael, who was next to Mitzu, turned her head slightly and took three steps away from him. It seemed like she didn’t want to be seen as part of the same group.

“What’s going on?”

Eventually, Dylan closed his documents and stood up.

At that moment, Mitzu and Hael grabbed Dylan’s hands and started to drag him out without any explanation.

“Master Dylan, you should see it too!”

“Yes!”

Dylan felt like he had a rough idea of what they wanted to show him, so he lightly waved his arm and shoke the two dragons off him.

The two dragons fell down easily, as if they had not held him together with their full force.

“Is it because of the kids?”

“Yes! I’m going to die!”

“Going to die!”

Even without Dylan continuing to speak, the two dragons started pouring out their grievance in detail.

But these stories had been heard enough times already, so they were neither new nor interesting.

Dylan just looked bored with the repeated complaints.

Mitzu and Hael whined, wondering if their stories weren’t sad enough.

“I came here trusting you, Master Dylan! I’d be upset if you just took a rest here and let me do all the hard work!”

“Upset!”

Dylan only let out a short sigh, but showed no particular reaction.

Mitzu shouted, “This is it.”

“If you keep doing this, I’ll have to go back to that nest!”

As soon as he said that, his whole body stiffened.

“Where did you say you are you going?”

Dylan asked in a sinister voice, his eyes shining coldly.

Mitzu tried to say something in response, but his vocal cords stiffened and he couldn’t say anything.

“Ugh!”

Hael, who was standing next to him, held her breath and hid behind Mitzu. However, Mitzu, who couldn’t move, couldn’t help her.

Dylan said after glancing at Hael as well.

“You know very well that there’s nothing you can do as you please now that you’re under my wing, right? Enough complaining. Instead of talking, go look at the documents in my stead.”

Dylan clicked his tongue briefly and left Mitzu and Hael in the office.

The two dragons who came to complain but ended up doing paperwork instead just pouted.

But if they even made a sound, they wouldn’t know whether their master would barge in again. They just had to keep quiet and do what they were told.

They also decided that if they were going to run away, they had to do it secretly and not openly.

However, if they got caught, even if they pretended not to know anything, it wouldn’t end with just paperwork.

Meanwhile, Dylan, whose mood was getting worse, set out to find his niblings.

But not a single one of the triplets was caught by Dylan.

They were so slippery and elusive that he almost ended up using magic against four-month-old babies.

“Haa.”

Dylan let out a short sigh, wiping his rough face.

He thought by just bringing them here everything would be solved.

Now everything was a bother.

He went straight to his room, lay down on the bed, and closed his eyes.

Not long after, he heard a voice whispering in his ear.

Dylan lifted his eyelids at the noise that interrupted his rest.

“What.”

It was an unexpected sight. His niblings were already gathered and sitting in his room.

When he searched for them, they didn’t even show their tails.

What’s going on with them now?

Dylan observed the children with a cool expression.

“Do you want to see Erina?”

“Ah, I want to catch the spider at Erina’s house!”

“Erina! Hehe.”

As expected, the reason the three of them huddled together as they talked was because of that human woman.

Dylan got out of bed and walked closer to the three.

Even though they must have sensed his presence, the children simply continued talking.

“The meat that Erina grills is delicious!”

“No, the jam that Erina makes is the most delicious!”

“Erina is good at cooking!”

Dylan, who had been quietly listening to the three of them chatting, put his leg between them.

The children all looked up at the large figure occupying the center of their circle.

Three pairs of large eyes watched him intently.

“You guys.”

Dylan looked each of his niblings in the eye and warned them.

“Just try to think about it more.”

The children’s shoulders stiffened at Dylan’s cold eyes and murderous gaze. However, their expressions became more pointed.

“The ham at Erina’s house is more delicious.”

“It’s so much fun to go play in the forest with Erina!”

“Isn’t Erina pretty?”

The children continued their conversation, looking between Dylan’s legs as if he was invisible.

The effort to ignore his existence was commandable.

Dylan chuckled at his niblings’ antics.

He knew what they wanted to do now, but there was absolutely no way the kids would go back to Erina’s side.

“Even if you do that, you won’t go back to the forest, so just stay quiet.”

At the words that fell carelessly, all three heads simultaneously rose again and…

“Dylan, you idiot!!!”

“Dylan, you idiot!!!”

“Dylan, you idiot!!!”

The children quickly left the bedroom, leaving only a loud scream behind.

It was a cute rebellion that didn’t hurt him at all.

Yeah, so it should have just ended cutely.

Dylan’s forehead developed wrinkles at the behavior of his niblings afterward.

The kids would come to Dylan’s bedroom every time he was asleep and wake him up, then quickly run away if he tried to catch them.

There was nothing he couldn’t catch if he tried, but whenever he caught one of them, the other two would cause even more trouble, waking up the servants from their deep sleep.

“Kyaa!”

“Baaaa!”

In addition, whenever there were servants in front of them, they would turn into dragons, so the days of frustration continued due to lack of communication.

After several days of these tedious battles, even the most indifferent Dylan began to feel tired.

“Hmm.”

Now Dylan’s mind was filled with the word ‘healing’.

In all his long life, he had never felt that word so desperately.

There was no place that was particularly hurt or deeply depressing, but healing was still needed.

Actually, it was just an excuse he made up in a hurry because he wanted to see Erina’s shiny blonde hair.

Dylan quickly left his office to go see her since he had already remembered her. The ones who filled his empty spot were, of course, Mitzu and Hael.

***

As the sun was setting, Dylan arrived near Erina’s house and walked towards it without making a sound.

It had been several weeks since he and his niblings had arrived in the Sylvian Empire, but her home did not seem to have changed much.

The clotheslines that took up the most space in the yard were still lined up on the windowsill to dry.The mushrooms left to dry, the vines wrapping around the house along the wall.

Everything was the same.

Dylan took a quick look around the house with an indifferent expression, then settled down for real.

Today, he was just planning to admire the sparkling hair from afar. Since the moonlight was not bright enough due to the clouds, he didn’t think there would be any risk of being caught.

Dylan tried to observe Erina’s body movements around the house. However, even after watching for a long time, he did not feel any movement from Erina.

“Hmm?”

It was clear that she was inside the house, but why hadn’t she moved for so long?

He thought it was strange. This time was usually the busiest for Erina.

She would usually be busy organizing the hunt of the day and preparing for tomorrow, even his nephews and niece just played quietly among themselves at that time.

Dylan, who had been planning to look at Erina’s hair outside, furrowed his eyebrows slightly when his plan went awry.

Dylan let out a short breath, not hiding the irritation on his face, and moved a little closer to Erina’s house.

That way he could see inside the house better through the small window.

When he looked around the house through the window, he found that Erina was just sitting on the bed.

Dylan waited for Erina to start moving. However, she remained motionless like a doll for quite some time.

It was still okay.

Dylan was suspicious of the change in Erina, who was always cheerful and enthusiastic, but he had no intention of confronting her. He just assumed something was wrong and moved on.

The most important thing to him right now was to heal his complicated mind by looking at Erina’s shiny hair.

Only when the morning star rose that Dylan, who had been looking only at Erina’s hair, returned to the Sylvian Empire.
